The Breakers at Edgewater Beach – Reviews
My mother and Uncle both had units there, and stayed there for years. While overall, Id say I liked the place, they had many irritating problems. For instance, the elevators kept breaking down. They have 6 of them, but when one or two are out of order, it takes forever for the little old ladies to get down stairs for a meal. The stairs arent an option when you use a walker. Also, the rent was very expensive. Several years ago, it cost us around $2,000 a month for Moms unit. Of course, that included most of her meals.
The place is amazing the staff is incredible I had a wonderful time. Thank you for everything
I used to work as an Eldercare Advisor and The Breakers is my most favorite place to recommend. Who knows...I might move in there soon.
Just visiting a friend and picking up some painting supplies
Beautiful surroundings. Helpful staff. Lovely Apartments with amenities. A little pricey, but from what I can see worth the cost. Safe wonderful place for seniors
Because I work there
They are doing a great job keeping residents as safe as possible.
Its by the lake, but most importantly, not 1 resident contracted covid.
I dont hate this place. I like it - my Dr. (one of them) is there!
Its the best place for my mom.

Lots of interesting residents, very caring staff, variety of programs, many conveniences
15 year a resident, the best part is the wonderful neighbors who are funny and smart! I love the pool, the location right on the lake, and interesting programs (such as classical music and art history). Best of all I feel safe with the caring staff members who watch over us during the pandemic. I am a nurse who used to work in infection control and think the Breakers is doing an amazing job. I am so grateful to be living here!
The food is stupendous!!!! ALWAYS.The most amenities and activities for the price. A real workout room with many exercise classes. A pool. Lots of transportation. We got a one bedroom with a NE lake view for $2295 mo.

Busy, no Privite life. This place offers a great variety of activity and events Come on over
I had visited my aunt a few times at this place, I love this place for everything, friendly staffs except front desk manager I dont know her name. Whoever runs this place could you do me a favor, fire her. She is not friendly also discriminated against certain residents she doesnt like. People who dont like her had managed to move out. This place would be a hell of a lot better without her if you know what I meant. I mean you talking about the person that the residents have to deal with every day.
We attended a bridal shower in the rec room. It was very nice, as was the view. The service and food were great. The parking garage, however, presented a problem. We had a validation ticket, followed instructions, and the gate would not open. We called for assistance, to no avail. Finally , after about 8 minutes of waiting, and several cars waiting behind us, the gate went up. The parking is, apparently, owned by a company other than the Breakers. They might consider improvements.. .
Francophone Bilingual Toastmasters has been holding its meetings at the Breakers for nearly five years. During this time the service has been incredible. All of the staff at the Breakers is courteous and goes out of the way to accommodate our club. We have been holding dinner meetings in a beautiful room that has a marvelous view of Lake Michigan. The tables are always elegant and the food is delicious. Whenever we request something special the chef will adapt the menu to suit us. In addition the cost is reasonable and the assistance from the Breakers is unbeatable.
My mom lived there for 3 years until she passed away on 4, 3, 17. Its a wonderful place and we were very happy that my mom was able to live the last few years of her life there. The staff and residents treated my mother with respect, kindness, and dignity. Its a beautiful place with a wonderful view of the lake, activity rooms, movie theater, exercise and rehab rooms, and a beautiful dining area. We feel blessed that my mom was able to live and enjoy her last days at the Breakers.
