Rude administrator . State there for a complaint regarding care in the memory care unit . State following a cna That cna was not rude with state as such administrator said . State said cna was not interacting with residents standing above them . State walked in a residents room while aide where helping her and demanded to see her buttocks no introduction or what she was doing . Then state lady started again to question a cna Cna was outside help and administration decided to tell that outside help cna to leave because staff was for giving last name or answering question of residents staff did not know . So that left memory care with 1 cna to 14 pt with an activities aide and a nurse that has to be on both sides of the building . Will be contacting the owners and also contacting the omsbud

This morning, as I was tending to my friend in her final weeks, days and hours, a senior staff member, in a supervisory role asked me, “Did you even check on her?” in a most unprofessional manner. It’s terribly disappointing after losing someone, having turned your life upside down for weeks, caring for them, only to be treated so dismissively by some administrator of a for-profit enterprise. I would be surprised if my friend’s passing had not been both hastened and made significantly more unpleasant by the staff’s failure to provide her with a necessary medication for around 10d because they were “waiting for pharmacy to send it”. No attempt was made to inform family (present every day, most of the day, or caregivers, present whenever family was unable to be present, or hospice, that they were unable to obtain the medication). The patient’s resulting low hormone levels are known to commonly cause reversible dementia, surely something none of us want to experience, and I know both my friend and her family found this extremely upsetting, not least because these symptoms induced by their lack of care resulted in their decision to threaten the family with kicking her out. Needless to say, this caused significant distress to my friend’s family, but then my friend’s state of mind, low on hormone, was such that she had difficulty eating, drinking, taking her meds and most ADLs, spiraling to the end of life for a woman with a beautiful compassionate, kind and giving spirit, a woman I was proud to have been an advocate for abused and neglected children (CASA) with. nb I don’t say these things lightly, as I expect CC will ban me (as historically, they have either threatened or actually thrown out residents whom they preferred to no longer deal with) for having spoken the truth, thereby affecting my livelihood as a caregiver. Hasn’t helped that longtime residents known to be non-pork consumers have been repeatedly served pork-products (of course, they’re too polite to send it back or complain, preferring to remain undernourished, unable to eat anything touching the pork).

Staff has been so helpful and caring as my mother transitioned from assisted living to memory care here. Their activities staff is especially wonderful - - they are doing their best all the time to keep her engaged, introduce new strategies for enrichment, and to support my mother.

This community is a beautiful location. People often confuse senior living with nursing homes , they are not one in the same. Please people do your research on the different levels of senior living. Be aware of terminology. Be aware of the amount of care that is provided. Independent senior living is just that. Independent. Supportive/assisted means minimal assistance is provided such as a standby for a shower or medication reminder. However medications are not administered. The above are NOT "skilled " or "nursing home"and can not provide that level of care. In an assisted living an AED is not required. Please Google for the proper level of care your loved one may require.

If I could rate a zero I would. I have a list full of complaints and will be contacting a discrimination lawyer in the morning. [Name Removed] the director has mentally drained a residents Ill wife. Made her choose to use an outside agency that she didn't want and enjoyed the one she has. But [Name Removed] threatened the wife that if she didn't use Synergy the resident would have to leave knowing the wife is out of town. I've watch over the last months of short staff. A lady named [Name Removed] start arguments and fights. I've witnessed and documented a client not be given meds during asthma attack...and this has been on multiple occasions... and when handed POA paperwork to with hold meds the nurses gave it to them anyway. [Name Removed] has made a family fill like they were going to throw a resident out if they didn't find a placement. Then told them if they don't use Synergy that they would get kicked out as well. That's discrimination. Why would you take someone with behaviors caregivers away when that's all he trusts. All because the director doesn't like one of the caregivers she went to school with? The owner has a good lawsuit on their hands. We have documentation and have proof that the resident laid in his own urine from 7P-7A from day one. The night staff has never done night checks on them. When the staff of CC was around caregivers had to Watch the staff taunt him, laugh at him. Devontae and a staff member named Antonio would get in the patients face with dementia and taunt him saying "I'm your father." Knowing his father was a huge trigger that caused extreme reactions. The staff would come and steal depends to give it to another patient along with other items. One came in tonight saying they needed some for Mr.Milton. The worst I've seen is a nurse who gave a resident the wrong meds and laughed about it. 2 people witnessed this. COVID positive patients wondering in others rooms. Refusing meals and throwing rise crispys down and saying "eat this breakfast is over." That's not how you treat people in memory care. These people will not get away with this. I'm contacting channel 3 news, news quazette, anyone who will investigate this until something is done.

I am an employee of Carriage Crossing-Champaign and just by the tour in my interview I wanted to live there! I really enjoyed how beautiful and home felt the facility looked! Now as a CNA at Carriage Crossing-Champaign, it still is beautiful and home felt. As a resident of Carriage Crossing they get a place called home instead of a feeling like a facility. All the staff works hard to make it feel like home to them instead of them feeling like they are in a facility.
