Attended there Holiday High Tea Service with the family. Service was spot on, Victor, Alexa had there "A Game" that day. Would recommend stopping by when they offer there Tea Service, again. Food was exceptional.

Lovely place, although food is average, my folks parents love it there. Suggestion: turn off the Fox News in common areas. It should be unbiased news channel that doesn't fill heads of our elders with false information, especially now.

My parents were two of the first people to move in to The Garlands. It is an absolutely fabulous place. The food is outstanding, the landscaping and paths are beautiful, the activities offered are absolutely outstanding, and the people that work there cant be beat. Most have become like family to us. They have a computer center, huge work out room, a spa, bank, health services, transportation provided to all local places at no cost, a pool and hot tub, book clubs, card clubs, many other clubs, heated garage, several dining places, and a private theater. Those are just a FEW of the things offered at The Garlands. I HIGHLY recommend The Garlands.

My friend's father JP has been a resident at Brookdale/Woodstock for quite some time now and was previously there temporarily after hip surgery. Simply put, this facility is SECOND TO NONE. The entire staff is caring, compassionate, and personable. They all go above & beyond to make sure that every resident is taken care of in a kindly way. BRAVO! BRAVO! BRAVO! A special shout-out to Cheryl and Pam Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! PS we love the annual Thanksgiving & Christmas Festivities when family can come dine with residents. Compliments always to the chef, as the food is DELICIOUS!! 5 STARS!!

The Garlands of Barrington is very nice, but for my husband and I, the entrance fee is very high. The food is absolutely wonderful. We also saw an apartment that was on the first floor that has a patio. I like this a lot because I'd like to put flowers out there. I really think that The Garlands of Barrington is a Cadillac or Rolls Royce of retirement living. There are plenty of activities. It's really a wonderful place.

The Garlands had a lot of activities, a craft room, swimming pool, regular exercise, and a van that took you to doctors' appointments and shopping. It was in a very busy area, so that if you are independently driving, you could get to a lot of places easily, although there was a lot of traffic. Some of the rooms we saw were big, nice, and well maintained.

I went to the Garlands many times because I had friends there. It was extremely expensive, and I couldnt afford that. They had everything; they had an exercise room and a pool. I ate there on two occasions.

The Garlands of Barrington is a wonderful. clean, spacious place. I would recommend it to anybody. The staff was very nice during my visit. You can either eat in the common dining room or in your own apartment, and that is wonderful.

My mother is at The Garlands in Barrington, and the move went fine. The staff is very good. She can get up at 8 o'clock in the morning if she wants to, and she can sleep until noon. Her room is very large, and it is very nice. The food is fine, and there is a sufficient variety. The dining area is fine. It is quite large for 20 residents. They play card games and watch movies. They also have hand massages, and they go on short trips. They have several different kinds of activities during the day. It is very clean.

The Garlands is a beautiful facility. Its like a club. Some have two bedrooms with big rooms in the assisted living. They have good food there. The vegetables are good, and the rest are good too. In the independent living, they have a restaurant they go to. They were able to go out to movies and sometimes they have programs. The place is secure.

My husband and I were looking for a retirement community setting that was beautiful both inside and out. When we drove into The Garlands of Barrington's Campus, with its lovely gardens and architectural beauty and after a tour of the inside admiring the Frank Lloyd Wright design, we both looked at each other and said, "We could live here." The first and foremost thing we love about Garlands is the highly talented and skilled staff that consistently meet our needs and the friendly and interesting people who come from all over the US that we live with on a daily basis. A unique feature of the Garlands is the four smaller more intimate restaurants. The grill is our favorite. Chef Nick is very creative and serves high quality, gourmet meals. One of our restaurants is open to the community and it is nice to see business people and families coming and going. We have heard people say, "We wish we would have moved to The Garlands sooner!" We are glad we did.

Our father is 92 and lives at the Garland and we have 9 grandchildren that love to visit him at the Garlands. Our 3 year grandson's favorite place to go is to see Great Grandpa Bob, Our grandson really enjoys riding the elevators, walking over the bridge and swimming in the pool with his great grandpa Bob. Moved from Pittsburgh to the Garlands almost two years ago.after visiting several other retirement communities. We have found the Garlands has lived up to our expectations: friendly people, wonderful facility and outstanding service.

My grandparents thoroughly enjoy the neighborhood & community feel that "The Garlands " has to offer. They take delight in the excellent cuisine in both fine dining and casual atmospheres. They love attending the special events, especially those with music and art. Also, my grandpa has reignited his passion for fitness by vising the gym on a regular basis. Our extended family loves visiting during the holidays for the community meals and music events. I am so happy my grandparents have found a place to call home as they enjoy their retirement.

We have been very pleased with the grounds, staff, and care provided. We looked at several different places for my grandmother and noticed a few things about the Garlands. What we especially liked was the size of the 1 bedroom apartment residence for my grandmother. We also appreciated the maid service and social activities. We were worried that, after my grandfather died, my grandmother would become socially withdrawn. The staff has been good about encouraging her to become involved. The one issue I have with The Garlands is the cost. The cost is much higher than other area retirement facilities but the quality s much better.
