My dad stayed at New Summit for several weeks while he was fighting pancreatic cancer, first for rehab and then for hospice care. Throughout, the New Summit nurses, CNAs, and therapy staff took amazing care of him. They were professional, kind, and supportive throughout. Brian and Christine from physical and occupational therapy were amazing, helping us get him in and out of his wheelchair for appointments and just to enjoy some fresh air. Christine also helped a lot with meals when it was difficult for him to eat by himself. The nursing staff was amazing throughout his stay. Lino, Vanessa, Bhavisha, Joyce, and Marge were all exceptional. Lino and Vanessa were often on the night shift, and they would sit and talk with my dad if he got anxious during the night. They would also call us right away if anything happened. Knowing they were there helped my whole family get better rest since we knew my dad was in good hands. Marge, Joyce, and Bhavisha were all kind, gentle, and patient with my dad as well and we frequently saw them checking in during the day. The CNA staff (nursing assistants) were amazing as well - Mary, Jessica, and Domonique were wonderful. They were all very caring and attentive to details, making sure that my dad was clean, comfortable, and had everything he needed. They all treated my dad with dignity and respect up until his last moments and I will always appreciate that. I would highly recommend New Summit’s skilled nursing facility. The staff was wonderful, and the facility itself is clean and has a nice outdoor courtyard and balcony area.

The food is awful!!!! The PT was great and the day staff is wonderful but at night some of them don’t give you your pain meds or take you to the bathroom for some time. Please work harder on the food !!!!!

New Summit was amazing! My dad was here for 5 months for rehab after a hip replacement and tricky wound care needs. The staff were fantastic. Huge shout out to Grace and Bob at the front desk for being friends with my dad, cheering him up when he was down and always being incredibly helpful and welcoming. Big thank you to Frienz for all the assistance coordinating my dad’s many doctor’s appointments. All of the nurses were great but another shout out to Ron for always looking out for my dad. Kara in social work, Marika in nursing and Diana in the business office were all great to work with. I highly recommend this place for anyone in need of short term or semi long term needs.

The facility is very clean. All the staff are very kind, caring, professional and welcoming. Thanks to all the RNs and CNAs who took care of my mom and the therapists who worked with her. My mom went here for rehab to get her strength back after a hospital stay. She was in need of assistance in many aspects, due to her age and lack of muscle tone. She felt neglected, she would push assistance button for bathroom help...20-30 min later staff would arrive. She received little to no physical therapy...and occupational therapy was laughable. The facility had excuses...Soon her infection she had got worse, and she was taken back to the hospital. I feel this facility is understaffed, and the staff feel overwhelmed at times. My family and I spoke to staff about my mom's condition, as we saw issues, and not much was done to help her. My mom is at different rehab facility now and getting much better help. She feels more respected, and cared for. I will never recommend this place...it has definitely gone downhill since the time it was Traditional Care . So don't be deceived by the looks of the facility...I feel in some cases, this place does the bare minimum and only wants to collect insurance money.

My mom stayed in New Summit after a big cancer surgery in 2026. With the radiation therapy, she hardly to eat anything. The caring teams ( nurses and CNAs) took care of her and the therapy team supported her a lot for practicing. Especially, thanks to the dietitian who offered the unflavored supplements for my mom, so that she can eat with her bad mouth sore. The management of New Summit was great and efficient. Any questions and concerns will be taken care of immediately by them. It is clean everywhere and the staffs working there are kindness. Thanks New Summit for taking care of my mom.

New Summit is one of the cleanest nursing homes I’ve ever been to. The facility is extremely well maintained, bright, and organized”it honestly feels better than some hotels I’ve stayed in. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted right away, which immediately makes you feel welcome and comfortable. What truly stands out is the staff. Everyone is friendly, respectful, and genuinely caring. You can tell they take pride in what they do and truly care about the patients. They treat residents with kindness, patience, and compassion, as if they were their own family members. The atmosphere feels warm and positive, which makes a huge difference for both patients and visitors. Overall, New Summit provides a clean, welcoming, and caring environment. I am a Ukrainian serviceman whose life changed dramatically after sustaining a severe spinal injury during combat. The damage required multiple complex surgeries, and today my spine is stabilized by implanted metal hardware. Over the past several years, I have undergone dozens of procedures and received care in different medical institutions. Each experience was different. However, at New Summit Rehabilitation Center, I encountered something distinctive ” a carefully structured environment where recovery is approached with professionalism, coordination, and genuine human concern. From the outside, it may look like any other rehabilitation facility. But once you become a patient here, you recognize the difference. The system functions cohesively. The staff are not only qualified specialists; they operate as a unified team with a shared commitment to patient progress. Rehabilitation after severe trauma is not a simple process. It demands endurance, trust, and consistency. What stands out here is the steady support provided at every stage ” the ability to guide, to motivate, and to remain patient when progress feels slow. Such consistency does not happen by accident. It reflects strong leadership and thoughtful management. The quality of an institution is always a reflection of its administration, and here that standard is clearly visible. Because of this environment, I continue to move forward in my recovery following complex spinal surgeries. I was out of town while my mom stayed at New Summit Rehabilitation and Healthcare, which meant I was coordinating everything remotely and doing that classic adult-child thing of low-key stressing while pretending not to. Honestly? New Summit made that part easy. My mom was there for about a week (plus a few days), and every time I talked to her she sounded comfortable, calm, and shockingly not annoyed. If you know parents, you know that alone says a LOT. She kept talking about how kind and attentive the staff was, and she made sure to remember the names: Vanessa, Ana, Lino, and Margi. That’s not accidental. If my mom remembers your name and brings it up unprompted, you’ve officially made the good human list. Even from out of town, coordinating with the team went smoothly. Communication was solid, nothing felt chaotic, and I never got the feeling that she was just another room number. Based on what she told me, the staff here actually cares; like, real people with empathy, not just people doing a shift. The place itself felt clean and welcoming from what she described, and more importantly, she felt safe and supported while recovering. As a family member who couldn’t physically be there, that peace of mind is priceless. Big thanks to the whole New Summit team for taking great care of my mom and making a stressful situation way easier to manage. If you’re looking for a rehab facility where the staff is genuinely kind and your loved one is treated like a person, not a task, this is a solid choice. Verdict: I would trust Summit with my mom again.

I'm compelled to write this review now that our mom's been at New Summit for long-term care for over a year now. The staff from the front desk to housekeeping to food service to maintenance to PT/OT, to CNAs, nurses and all the way up to administration are second to none. There’s a sense of community here. In any industry, setting the tone and culture starts at the top and trickles down to staff/departments and so far, they seem to have gotten it right and are always striving to improve. From the leadership team to staff, it's clear that they truly care about their residents and families; it shows in their interactions throughout the day, how they take the time to stop and actually talk to them, or at the very least acknowledge them when passing by. It's also apparent that admin appreciates and respects staff, as most staff truly seem happy in their positions; it shows in their smiles, friendliness, kindness, caring and eagerness to help. Of course, there are occasional bumps in the road, but we've found admin staff to be extremely responsive and approachable; they want to know when there's a problem so they can fix/address it immediately. They don't just talk, they actually walk the talk. I especially want to give a special shoutout to a couple people who have been there since the beginning when mom was admitted. Nurse Jenny -- there's no one like her; she's truly a gem. This industry needs 100 more like her! She's kind, truly caring, compassionate, always cheerful and smiling, extremely hardworking, and always goes above and beyond. Then there's PT Ella -- a bright light, always smiling, positive, a sense of humor, kind, caring, truly loves what she does and it shows every day. As in all industries, of course there are people who just do their job and nothing more, then there are those who go above and beyond -- that's what you'll mostly find here. Shoutouts to the various staff in all departments who take care of mom or have taken care of her in so many ways (impossible to name them all here), especially the hardworking CNAs and nurses...you know who you are and how much we appreciate you!

I love this place and the people who run it. I own a preschool in Arlington Heights and have been bringing my students here for the last five years. We come here for trick-or-treating, Christmas caroling, and Valentine’s Day. The staff have such a high commitment of fostering our intergenerational relationship. I came to New Summit about three weeks ago with a large open wound on the back of my left leg. I had been receiving care from the Wound Clinic at Endeavor / Northwest Community Hospital with limited success.The team at Endeavor was very professional and did their best to heal me. However, I was not a very compliant patient and my wound continued to return, time after time. This is how I came to be at New Summit Rehab. I needed a. comprehensive program to address all my issues. Sorry it took me so long to get to the point. I am writing a review of Agata Hajkowska and Zaneta Dyminska, the Wound Care Team who took care of me during my stay at New Summit. At first they came everyday to dress and bandage the wound. Eventually, they came every other day, until today, when Agata pronounced me, Healed! The timing is perfect because I am planning to go home tomorrow and now I can go home Healed! Thank you Agata! Thank you Zaneta! The Miracle Wound Care Team from Northwest Community Hospital! Bravo!

First impression is that it’s messy looking and disorganized. But so far the staff is doing a good job and seem attentive. Otherwise, the looks of it are poor and depressing with beat-up walls and doors and stuff laying around everywhere. Maybe since it changed hands/sold, things changed because we had heard good things about this place, that it was like a nice hotel, and it is not. There is one patient who yells help me!’ all day long and it’s distressing to those around her who are trying to get well. Unsure what they could do about that.

My aunt was recently placed at this rehab facility and we could not be more pleased with the experience. I truly cannot get over how amazing the staff at New Summit is. Huge shoutout to Marie at the front desk”she’s incredible. The way she greets visitors with kindness, remembers everyone’s names, and makes people feel seen sets the tone for the whole facility. I constantly hear how much everyone here loves her. She always has a listening ear and makes time for people, even on the busiest days. She’s the perfect face for this place. I want to highlight the wound care nurses, who made what was a really scary part of healing feel so much more gracious and manageable. Agata was the first to greet me and she put so much time and care into my healing process, I even remember coming by after hours to check in on me. They sincerely helped my surgery incision close, and I always felt safe in their care. I placed my trust in them, and they did a phenomenal job every single day. Plus, they’re so easy to get along with”it made a big difference. The nurses and CNAs have my whole heart. They genuinely want to help, and it shows in everything they do. I spent 9 weeks here, and I’ve seen how consistently the staff works together as a team to care for patients with compassion and respect. The physical and occupational therapists here are next-level. Massive shoutout to Rinna and Brian”they each bring so much heart and dedication to every session. You can tell they truly care about the people they’re helping. Big thanks as well to the upper management team”the ones who keep things running behind the scenes. Especially Jessica, she makes the place look and feel beautiful as it reflects her beauty. They all are approachable, they’re willing to talk through any issues, and you can tell they genuinely want to help. But what makes New Summit truly special is the sense of community. From the moment my father was brought to New Summit, I felt he was well cared for. Upon arrival, staff checked him over and found pressure ulcers on his backside and heels as a result of the hospital he was transferred from not ever adjusting his position during his stay. New Summit immediately addressed these ulcers and adjusted his position with wedges and ordered him a special mattress. The staff was attentive, including Dr Abdo who personally did rounds most mornings (which was never the case in another facility where we never even saw a doctor's assistant). My dad received PT, OT, and ST, and all the therapists were great. The nurses gave my dad excellent care. We especially loved Nurse Ron, Nurse Dustin, and Nurse Nafisat. Kara, Director of Social Services, always made herself available and had open lines of communication about my father's care. Kara checked in on him throughout the day and was on top of any concerns we had. Kelly, Director of Admissions, also dropped by my dad's room often with a smile and a friendly hello. The facility is very bright, cheery, and welcoming. The rooms are clean and spacious with a private bathroom/shower room. There are several inside gathering areas for families to visit and a beautiful outside courtyard.

I recently stayed at New Summit Rehab Center recovering from knee surgery. The facility was clean, and I was pleased with my stay. All of the staff were professional and paid close attention to my needs. They worked together for the comfort of the patient. I was impressed with the nursing staff and would like to showcase the compassionate care I received from Lino and Anna. They answered all of my questions and straightened out my medication glitch. The CNA's were attentive as well. (I wish I could remember all of their names.) My physical therapist, Will, and my occupational therapist, Christine, were kind, encouraging, and professional. I was also able to work with the nutritionist and Martin and Vianay from food and hospitality services to accommodate my gluten-free diet. Many thanks for that. Overall, I had a good experience, and I would recommend New Summit if you need to stay at a rehab facility.

My husband was at New Summit in January/February for therapy after back surgery. We were very pleased with his care, the therapists, the staff and the facility. Unfortunately, he required another back surgery in May and we chose for him to go back to New Summit. Again, everyone from the professional staff to the cleaning and maintenance were terrific. After a couple weeks we realized he was rather lethargic and weak. Lino immediately contacted the doctor who ordered blood tests the next day and we discovered he was dangerously anemic. This resulted in a return to the hospital for 4 blood transfusions in 4 days, after which we returned to New Summit. Frequent blood tests were ordered and Lino closely followed the reports. His professionalism and concern was exceptional and gave me so much confidence in my husband's care. In addition, Michael was often our CNA, helping my husband with his shower, dressing, etc. His wonderful smile and cheery nature helped us both when things were not going well. We feel we made 2 good friends during his stay and we would definitely recommend New Summit.

I did 10 days of rehab at this facility for two knee replacements (9/2024 and 3/2025). Both rehab stays were comfortable and professionally managed. Last September, New Summit had just taken over this facility so there were a few wrinkles getting some minor issues sorted out after check-in but everything was quickly and successfully resolved. On my return stay this past March a new admissions coordinator had been added and my check-in this time was handled very professionally and I settled in very comfortably. In both stays, the friendly and helpful staff was a big part in making my stay a positive experience (some had cared for me on my first visit in September and welcomed me back). This included everyone that contributed to my day to day care and general living basics. The PT and OT staff did a great job is getting me prepared with the skills I would need to be safe taking care of myself at home--in less time than what the social worker had originally projected in both recoveries. I would recommend New Summit and would go back again if I needed rehab care.

My grandmother was at New Summit for a little over a month after breaking her hip and shoulder. She was very well taken care by the staff and they were always so accommodating if she needed anything. The facility was very clean and modern. There was even a sitting area where our entire family could visit with her. Overall, I would recommend New Summit to anyone in need of rehabilitation. Can't say enough about the great experience we had here. My 93 year old Mom came here after a stroke. The staff, from the cleaning crew to the therapy team and doctor were fantastic. Mom felt like they were part of her family and as much as she wanted to go home, she hated leaving the staff. She felt safe and cared for. They gave us the tools we needed to help her at home. A shoutout to the speech therapy team who helped Mom with swallowing issues and memory games. I had no idea how important speech therapy was! They made it fun for Mom. How lucky we were to find this place! Update: Many of the therapy team that my Mom had, have left once a new 3rd party therapy company were brought in to run the department. So I am not so sure the care will at all be the same.

My brother was admitted to New Summit Rehabilitation and Healthcare following his hospitalization after stroke and heart related issues. This place is a good facility. Overall clean, sweet staff, from the CNs to the nurses, and Social Worker, they were all very upbeat and always showed that they were happy to help with whatever they could do to make the patient comfortable and safe. They did a fantastic job working with the family in helping to provide the best possible care and communication during his stay there. I have nothing but praise for New Summit as a whole.
