I play piano at Brookstone, I have done this for years ! It is my favorite place to play at ; because of the residents, they are the most wonderful, kind , fun to be with on earth ! We had the absolute pleasure of visiting Brookstone of Aledo with our mini horses, and what a truly unforgettable experience it was! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with such warmth, kindness, and excitement. The smiles, laughter, and joy on the residents’ faces made our visit incredibly special. Watching them interact with the horses, share stories, give gentle pets, and experience the simple happiness that animals bring was truly heartwarming. It was something to hold dear listening to one of the residents sing to Maisie. The staff at Brookstone of Aledo, especially Beth, went above and beyond to make our visit so meaningful. Their compassion, dedication, and genuine care for the residents were evident in every interaction. It was clear that Brookstone of Aledo is more than just a place to live”it is a true community filled with love, connection, and people who genuinely care. What a truly beautiful facility!!!!! I go to Brookstone to visit my great aunt. The staff is always very welcoming and friendly. We get to sit outside on nice days and see all the pretty flowers that are blooming. It truly is a great place with wonderful staff.

I would recommend this place to every single person/family I know! I know that my loved one is left in good hands when I am not there. The staff treat everyone like one big family. It’s a clean, safe environment. The residents are all friendly and welcoming of new faces. Any communication I leave for my dad is passed to the other staff, so his care is consistently carried out. It’s a very supportive environment that encourages and facilitates independence and dignity. The team is always quick with responses and follow up. I could not have picked a more prefect place for my dad to live. I am leaving this review from my personal experience with this facility, but I also know many of the residents/families and the experience is the same for them too. Lisa Wexell made a hard transition so easy for us. She is always available and happy to facilitate for whatever is needed.

Brookstone of Aledo is a microcosm of the Aledo and Mercer County communities. People care, have fun and make residents and their family feel welcome and valued. I love that they allow our Father to help out and contribute to the community. He has a purpose thanks to their care and support.

I wouldn’t send my worst enemy to that place. They let people smoke pot in their facility every night. And They do nothing about it, and my sister can’t breathe because of it. i’m turning them into the health department. It has to stop.

My brother transferred from a rehab center to Brookstone. The move and transition went very well. He enjoys the meals. The nursing staff has been helpful in keeping him on track with meds and to appointments. Other staff have been helpful and kind. This is a good place for him to live!!

Brookstone’s staff was extremely caring and professional. Brookstone CNA and nurse provided assistance for my mom when she needed it most. She was able to make friends and become apart of the Brookstone community quickly and easily. My mom loved the meals and activities. The Brookstone administration (Chris and Lisa) were always there to help our family.

My mother in law has spent several years at Brookstone before moving to a nursing home and all the staff from administration to nursing has been so caring, professional and knowledgeable- and ALWAYS with the best interests of the resident in mind! The staff at Brookstone of Aledo have been absolutely wonderful to both my parents and our family as our parents transitioned to assisted living. As our first point of contact, Lisa Wessels was incredibly helpful in explaining the application and move-in process, touring us through the building and making sure our parents could envision Brookstone as their new home. Marcie Terrill has worked tirelessly to help us through the financial part of the process. Both of these gals have always been available to answer any questions or concerns at any time with genuine care and kindness. Head Nurse, Sue, and her team have been absolutely wonderful! They come to my parents' aid whenever needed, reminding them to not be afraid to call on them however big or small the need. Activities Director, Beth, does an amazing job keeping a schedule of fun and entertaining activities so that there is always something for the residents to do. Missy and the kitchen staff work hard to provide nutritious meals with alternative options making sure there is always something good to eat. At the front desk, Sheila greets us with a smile and is always helpful. Chris, Executive Director, was very helpful during the application process and definitely considers his residents' needs when making decisions for the facility. Our parents have come across old friends and made some new ones and this journey is just beginning for them. We are grateful to the entire Brookstone of Aledo staff and are so happy for this chapter of life for our parents.

I enjoy living here seeing old friends and making new. Plus I can either have my meals provided for me or make something in my own apartment. Nice having things to do especially with the guys. If I need any type of assistance, always someone around to help me. Have both support and independence living here. Nice people.

ONLY because of distance from their family and friends, my in-laws did not choose Brookstone. But, during the time of gathering information, learning the processes, and researching facilities, Lisa was so insightful and helpful. She continued to call to ask how our search was going and to offer answers and assistance. Even after I explained I thought the location was too far away, Lisa still reached out to me, and encouraged me to do the same, to ensure I had all the information and resources I needed. Her knowledge was unlimited, and had my in-laws chosen Brookstone, I am sure it would have been an excellent decision.

We lost my dad after a very short illness and mom needed to go assisted living as she couldn't take care of the home on her own. Mom had to give away their dog because she would've barked way too much and would disturb the other residents and she had to leave her home of 40+ years. I contacted Lisa at Stonebrook and she gave us a virtual tour then later came over to mom's house to answer any questions (after 5 pm). Mom immediately felt relaxed in her presence and has since said that Lisa is like family to her. That's an awful lot of change for a 91 yr old and the staff check on her often (including Lisa) to see how she's doing and I feel very confident that they are taking all the precautions to keep COVID out of their facility. My mom has struggled to get used to living in a 1 bdrm apt and life in assisted living but she's starting to joke and laugh again and I credit Lisa and the Stonebrook staff for helping her feel at home. I think the hardest part has been not being allowed to have visitors right now but she can be taken out for a visit.. Anytime I need to ask something Lisa is always available and answers or takes care of the issue right away. This is a huge comfort for me as I live in Mikwaukee. I really believe we picked the right place for Mom!!

My mom is new to Brookstone having just moved in yesterday. I cannot say enough about the welcome she received when she got here. From the sign at the front door welcoming her to a lot of the staff stopping by her room to introduce themselves and say hello. She felt right at home immediately. I know that Brookstone has been the absolute right move for her.

We can't praise Brookstone enough. Unlike larger facilities where people do not know each other, Brookstone is a true community where friends abound. It becomes a true home. Staff is caring, efficient, knowledgeable and always smiling. They know their residents and treat them with respect and love. A special shout out to Beth Springer, Activities Director, who planned Mom's 105 birthday celebration, to caring Resident Nurse Sue Mullen and to Aides Janet and Kim who do everything with humor and a smile. Our dad, Dean McCreight was lucky enough to join the Brookstone family on September 18th. He is adjusting very well and happy to see so many residents and members of the staff that he knows. Everyone has been so good to Dad. My sister Pam and myself along with Dad toured Brookstone in July and were welcomed with open arms. Lisa Wessels and Chris DeFrieze have been so helpful in so many ways getting Dad adjusted to his new surroundings. We are very lucky to have such a wonderful facility in our community. I can speak for our entire family that we are giving Brookstone a 5 star PLUS rating. Thanks again!
