The staff there are usually very kind and hard working. The residents seem well taken care of and usually seem happy. Some residents exit seek but staff do a great job offering other activities for them to engage in. The food is decent but also I understand trying to cook for 60+ residents with so many different diet needs is not an easy task. The administrator works very hard for the residents, residents' families, and all the employees! Kudos to the whole team!

Guardian Angel is as nice a place as any to house a senior. Of course Guardian Angels is a far second to a loving home and family. Our siblings insisted Mom and Dad go into GA 13 years ago. Dad (several strokes) tried to escape and walk down the road several times 🙂 Mom having alzheimer's disease was called a "bolter", because she would stand up suddenly forgetting she was 82 and fall down (the rolly-polly gal that she was fell down 9-11 times that we know of). In short, grandma/mom was KICKED OUT. We were faced with, only, options of lesser quality care, it appeared, at the time. Much to our joy, the other siblings (power of attorneys) agreed to allow us to take mom and dad into our home. At around $5700 (at the time per month) x 4.5 years (when their money ran out down to SS monthly) = $307,800, we we're able to put some cash down on a bigger home with a mother-in-law room, collect $5000 per month until SS kicked in and my wife, later became her (official) paid caregiver. Last 5 years were down to $1500 per mo after the savings ran out. These numbers are only memory approximates. Note: Power of Attorneys controlled all of our parent's assets, which turned out to be a good thing- although frustrating at the time. However, my wife did have complete control over all body fluids and excretions 🙂 With a small SS check and government paid care allowance, grandma's rent was paid and my wife was a paid caregiver. We did not get rich from it! $1500 SS + $250 per week caregiving. Now the sacrifice of my wife, and mine, and the whole family, and what we endured, cannot be understated, so I will not state it here at all. Was it worth it? Yes. Mom being kicked out of GA was a blessing. She fell a few times over the 13 years, but not as many times as she did in that one year at GA. She came out of GA on 12 meds and was off them all within 18 months. Good food? Whole food? Love? Care? That is my only beef with GA, is that they asked mom to leave, when they advertise their alzheimer facilities expertise. Again this was 13 years ago, and their bragging about alzheimer/dementia "programs" has only increased. That being said, if I was a disabled/low functioning senior, with no family to take care of me, I would likely choose GA as my resting stop. It's quite clean, and well run and they are likely at the top of their game. Because of my brother Billy I was in and out of care facilities my whole life. None of the smells, and signs of neglect I have witnessed in the past were visible to me when I visited. Just as long as your senior’s alzheimer's is not too far along. Note: Mom was a happy, all is well, kind of Alzheimer personality which makes a huge difference compared to the angry personalities. Good luck, and many Graces!

My mother was transferred to Guardian Angels this year from a different facility in the area. Although I live out of area and don’t get to see her I am impressed with the tender care she is receiving. When I get to FaceTime with her she seems happy and less anxious than she used to be. They are very patient with her struggle to put everything in her mouth . Even dealing with Covid the facility seems to be very responsible and attentive to keeping residents safe. Thanks Guardian Angels.
