Truewood by Merrill – Reviews
Our Dad lived at Truewood for 11 months and I am so appreciative of the care he received. He had been living alone and lonely before he moved in. He lit up once he got his routine down, having coffee and chats with so many other residents, and at the Friday happy hours, he wasn't lonely anymore. He regained weight having good meals, and when he started to decline, his care level was elevated to be more hands on, watchful, tender and sincere. They helped us navigate into Hospice. The caregivers, med techs, nurses and administration truly love their jobs and I would highly recommend Truewood. Special thank you Emil, MamaB, Janice, Jodi and everybody that made my Dad's last year safe, happy and with residents that became friends until the end. I don't know how you do it, you are very special people and we are grateful for you all.
It was a pleasure to visit and meet with many of the people at Truewood. The staff was very friendly. Patty, the activity director, was enthusiastic, kind and friendly. The entire center had a positive atmosphere.
Truewood is a caring and compassionate facility! Our administrator, nurse and staff cares for everyone’s needs and wants! We all work as a team! The meals are “made to order! ”Activities all day long! Truewood in Boise is the place to be! Thank you again for our management team for making this all happen! 🙂
We had to put my father in WillowPark last September due to his falling. They were absolutely wonderful with his situation. Everyone around him was caring and have helped him get through this tough time in his life. The staff is very encouraging too him & if I have any questions they are always answering me within reason. It can be very trying to have an elderly parent but I feel I could ask anyone at WillowPark for help and someone would always reach out to me. Reach out to Jody, Mary, or Chelsea if u have any questions. I feel my dad is safe and that makes me relieved and happy.
I wanted you to know that, in my view, Mom’s first day exceeded my expectations for how things would go and how she would react to the transition. Although I know there will be some difficult days ahead for Mom as this truly sinks in with her, I believe she had a truly reassuring first day. She had lunch and met a new friend as we were getting her moved in; she was invited by the activities director to go on a scenic bus tour, which she accepted; and just moments later met her next door neighbor who introduced herself, and they sat together on the bus. She was delighted with Emil when he came to get her for dinner. Paul is an absolute gem, and made getting Mom’s apartment squared away so easy. The head of housekeeping introduced herself and let me know what the housekeeping/laundry schedule would be. All in all, I am very assured that I picked the best environment for Mom that I could have.
I can say that I am very pleased with my experience with Truewood in Boise. The activity director is full of life, always doing something entertaining for the residents and has special outfits that she wears to make the residents smile.Every Friday there is live music and the residents singing along with them. I cant begin to name all the caregivers that have made the transition for my mother in law so much easier. The administrator engages with the residents and makes them feel special. My mother in law will tell me how she is served coffee by her in the morning with a smile and ray of sunshine.I see a group of people that love their jobs and the people that they take care of. No facility is perfect and one thing they are working on is getting a great chef in there which I hear is going to be starting next month. I am happy with the choice we made and we thank all the staff for everything they do.

I am a local internal medicine physician. When it came to looking for an assisted living facility for my mother, I looked at many places in the Boise area. Willow Park definitely stood out from the beginning. From the moment I walked through the door, there was a palpable warm and caring vibe that exuded from all of the staff members I met. Chelsea and Mary were exceptionally helpful with transitioning my mother into Willow Park. My mother has resided there since 2019 and has absolutely thrived. She has made many friends and loves participating in the wide variety of activities that are offered. She loves the staff members and gives high praises to Chef Brads cooking. I have such peace of mind knowing she is well cared and is truly happy living at Willow Park. Not to mention, they have handled the COVID crisis like rockstars!
My Auntie lived at Willow Park for a couple months after breaking her ankle and not having the opportunity to return home right away. She safely recovered in a well priced studio and was able to go home after Physical Therapy and the amazing care of the staff.
MY sister had a broken leg that required 5 months of recovery after surgery. We placed her in Willow Park and was very grateful for the care and attention that she received while there. They assisted her in every phase of healing and as she became more independent they worked on all aspects of rebuilding her strength. While there, the outpouring of concern and caring was well above great for her. That is what she commented on was the staff made the duration comfortable and pleasant and easier to be away from home for an extended amount of time. I whole heartly recommend Willow Park for anyones love ones as they are great at what they provide for your family.
My client loves Willow Park! She says I love this place, the people are so nice, the food is good and everything is going great, and the cat likes it too!
I think Vista Cover is the best place for your elderly family and loved ones! A place that you'll be secure and worry free if this would be your decision. Our church group visits every month to extend the love of God to them by singing, testifying, special individual prayer, and sometimes gifts for the Holidays! I look forward to our visits every 3rd Sunday!
Dealt with Mary and Chelsea, they were very helpful with a hard situation with my mom. Timing and money caused me to choose another facility, but had those not been a factor, Willow Park as my first choice. I cannot say enough good things about the staff.
It is seldom easy to make the move to assisted living after being independent all your life. I can honestly say this move for my dad was still difficult BUT it definitely improved his quality of life. The staff at WP are EXCELLENT - they are attentive and genuinely concerned and interested in their community members. The facility is lovely, the food is good and I always feel welcome when I visit my father. They go out of their way to find out what their residents want and try to make it happen. They have lots of regular activities and outings. Much more than my dad would have ever had available if he had staying in his own house. I'm confident in his care - the nursing staff is attentive and well versed in health issues related to seniors. Thank you for all you do to make life better for families!
My grandmother moved in from Nov 2005 to Nov 2008 when she passed on at age 95! i knew if we ever needed to place my mother somewhere, Willow Park was the place to go. My mother agreed. I moved mom into Willow Park in June 2011 and she is still living happily there. A lot of the same people who cared for Grandma were still working at the facility in 2011 when I moved Mom in. The employees go through a very rigorous interview process to make sure they are the right fit for all the clients in Willow Park. The employees care for their clients as if they were their own blood relative. I wanted that personal touch for Mom. The clients at Willow Park are very fortunate to have so many caregivers love on them! The food is good, the facilities are maintained well and in a timely fashion is something is wrong in a room, the activities are endless for the clients - movies, weekly shopping trips, weekly scenic tours, bingo, exercise classes, brain games, holiday parties, WOW moments specific to each client etc. You won't be disappointed by placing your loved one in the hands of the Willow Park staff. They are A #1!!! The staff are also very attentive to the families and have open communication with family. Thank you staff at Willow Park!
My father was at Willow Park Memory Care for five years and most of the staff that was there at the beginning were there at the end. That was very important to us and worth the expense. Thank you, WP.
Even though my mother Jeane could not stay there, Jeane and her family would like to express our deepest appreciation and gratitude to Mary Hall-Smith for her warm kind support Thank you Mary for your knowlege, guidance, direction, and advice you gave us Your compassion, thoughtfulness, and kindness toward our mother and family was way above and beyond You are a great asset to Willow Park Senior Living...The staff was very professional, helpful, caring, friendly, and well managed The atmosphere was very comforting, cheerful, and inviting A beautiful clean facility and grounds I highly recommend this place to my family and friends...Five stars! Erica Dunn
This is a pre-move in review. We have been interviewing memory care centers for the last few weeks. We have seen how differently these facilities can be and how easy you can tell the top from the bottom. We have decided to select Willow Park and look forward to keep the 5 star rating with them.

I would highly reccomend WIllow Park . My mom is staying here and our family is very pleased with her care. The staff is very freindly and helpful! We could not ask for better care! The price is very reasonable for the excellent care and compassion she receives.
Willowpark is a home away from home. The staff and care is amazing.
Willow Park is not only a happy place during Happy Hour the staff is always friendly, cheerful, kind and full of smiles--perfect for the residents and those of us who come for visits--Amazing!!!Thank You!!
I'm a Senior Care professional as well as an adult child of an elder. I have recommended Willow Park to many clients through the past ten years and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to my own parent. They are friendly, and inclusive, without being pushy. They will listen to your family's needs and help you determine if it's a "good fit". Their facilities are are clean and lovely, without being overdone, and the staff is professional and attentive, putting the needs of their residents first.
We could not be more impressed with Willow Park staff and care! My in laws moved in almost a year ago and we have been impressed with the people who work there from Day 1. The kindness and compassion the employees give toward the residents is above and beyond any thing we have ever witnessed. We are so grateful we found this home away from home for my in laws. Thank you for making such a difference!
I have been working in the Home Health and Hospice field for the past 12 years in the Treasure Valley. I would highly recommend Willow Park to my clients and my Family members. If you need a great place to live you should move into Willow Park.
Amazing staff and good food!...Had a wonderful time at the 2nd Annual Car Hop 2017
Willow Park is an amazing and Oh So Delightful community. The staff is fabulous. We realy like the people and the environment.
Amazing staff. They are so caring. Monica is an angel. The food is good, they have great activities and it's a very nice facility. My mother in law says it's "one in a million" and I agree!
The employees have stepped it up! 10 yrs ago they were very rude to me. Now even administration wants us sitters to be comfortable. Also their food is very good!
I have worked with Willow Park for the past 6 years. They have tremendous staff who are not only professional but also very compassionate to their residents. They have one of the highest nurse to patient ratios Ive seen. If you have a love one who is considering an assisted living or memory care facility, I encourage you to check them out and spend some time there and you will witness what Ive experienced: Great people who provide exceptional care!
June 2015 found us looking for an assisted living residence for our folks (age 92 and 94). We found it at Willow Park Senior Living. Yes, it was a hard move for our parents but the transition to new accommodations and new people couldnt have gone better. Willow Park is a dynamic and energetic place - full of amazing people and I am not just referring to the staff. The residents are fun, welcoming and very interested in meeting new people. Now, 5 months later, our parents have adapted to their new apartment, their new friends and their new life. My mother has blossomed and looks better every day and my father is beginning to more fully realize the number of activities, field trips, lectures, music, etc. that are available to him at Willow Park.
I am a health care professional and have been working with Willow Park over the last 10 years. I confidently recommend Willow Park for my patients and their families who are looking for Assisted Living facilities. Willow Park is a great facility with great staff!
The staff is:professionalcaringpassionateThe facility is-clean-up to date-safeI can not recommend this facility or staff highly enough.
Willow Park Senior Living is a wonderful facility. I would highly recommend it to family and friends. They have an amazing staff that truly cares for each resident they serve. The way they help new residents integrate and become part of the Willow Park family is unmatched in the valley.
I have been to many places in the Boise area and the Willow Park is one of my top choices, however they were unable to accommodate my dad because of a waiting list in memory care. Very professional and extremely well staffed, kind, compassionate and well managed. Even though dad couldnt go there, they helped me get in touch with some other amazing options. I appreciate their nurses who took the time to assess my dad thoroughly. It wasnt a fake, sell a room type of experience. They were professional and knew how to make things better for a struggling senior. Ten stars.
Lovely facility, wonderful and caring staff, lots of activities and the food is great! My in-laws have been here for several years and love it!
I moved my mom to Boise on Dec 26, 2012 and into Willow Park on Dec 28, 2012. I had looked around town for a place that felt like "home" and found Willow Park. The staff is absolutely amazing. They know the residents and really do care about them. The staff turnover is minimal which is wonderful since they develop relationships with the residents. My mom feels special everywhere she goes on site. I am there 3-4 times a week so I see what goes on and the level of attention and respect for the residents is wonderful. I can't say enough about Willow Park and how they've made my mom's life exciting every day. There are so many activities that residents can get involved in, not only on-site but scenic drives, trips to shopping, shows at the Morrison Center, field trips to the Rose Garden, etc. There is entertainment during the week from outside sources and the residents (and I) love it!! I also love that they encourage residents to have pets if they are able. As you can tell, I can't say enough about Willow Park. They've made my mom feel loved and cared for, which means the world to me.
Willow Park Senior Living is one of the very best Assisted Living Communities in Boise. Their continued focus on the quality of care and quality of life for their residents is so impressive. I have referred Patients of ours to this community, and their care has been amazing! They are always doing something fun with their residents, whether its art, music, crafts, etc.... they are always keeping the residents busy with fun activities. I would HIGHLY recommend them.
