This place is amazing and the staff is just supurb and A+ They are currently taking care of my best friends dad and he is more healthier now than when he went in. They keep him cleaned and shaved up, I went to visit for the first time. There are no "nursing home smells" . it is super clean, well maintained the rooms are beautiful as well as the facility grounds itself. The cleaning staff do an amazing job, the care staff are soo good with the residents and so patient and kind. So much dedication and compassion. I was amazed and so happy that he is being well cared for even though he is a couple hrs away from us. Please appreciate all of your staff and workers they do an amazing job. I have been in alot of nursing homes and this one by far is my favorite one I have ever been in. There are cottages to stay in for reasonable prices and the residents can "get away" to go there for visits.

ivh has taken care of my mom and step father until he passed and currently still my mom on the Malloy unit and all the nurses have been great to our family since 2018 especially "ricky" as my mom calls her. thanks to all that have taken care of my parents...

Our dad is a resident here. Staff is super friendly and very helpful. Such a super network of staff. Makes our visits to see him very pleasurable and almost homelike.

Very nice and caring staff in every department! The Iowa veterans home took great care of my grandparents and they continue to do so for other's family members. So much compassion. Very dedicated nurses that put their heart first and it shows through how happy the residents are.

It seemed like a nice place for veterans to stay. There were many things for the patients to do, and I heard no complaints about the food. In fact I was told that the food was very good. Everyone seemed friendly and the place was exceptionally well cleaned. Nobody seemed bored. But it was my first, and only visit so far. Keep up the good work.

Great facility, great care for my dad, who has alzheimer's. The staff actually cares, unlike most nursing homes in the area. I live in Waterloo and I'm more than happy to drive further to see him in a facility where I feel like he's being properly cared for.

I love visiting here to see my grandfather! The facility is huge and grandpa says there are a lot of activity options and ways to stay busy. I love that I’m able to bring my dog to visit him as well because he loves dogs! The staff are super friendly and helpful! The only thing he dislikes is that he isn’t allowed to smoke when he wants tonow I’m a no smoker but to tell someone who has smoked for their whole life that they cant is so tough when they are grown adults who grew up in a different time.

This is supposed to be a quality retirement care facility for veterans, but it seems like it's more about getting money from the residents that live there rather than providing quality care.
