We visited Garner Farms Assisted Living Facility today, 4/3/26 and met with Melissa. She was so pleasant to talk with and very patient with us. We had many concerns and Melissa put us at ease with her kindness, compassion and positive attitude. She answered our many questions in detail and without hesitation. She gave us a complete description of all the services that our Mother would need currently and in the future. Our only concern was the size of the one bedroom apartment. It is a little small, but as she needs more care that shouldn’t be an issue. If she decides that this is the place for her, she will be well taken care of and we would be comfortable with her being there.

We have lived at silver crest for four months, and all ready fell like family . When we first looked at our unit , we asked if we could remodel the kitchen and install a bathtub . To my surprise the answer was yes. Yes has been the answer too everything we have asked . The all inclusive style of living is fantastic. We have adjusted quite well to being pampered.

I toured this community and the team was so friendly and knowledgeable. The community was recently remodeled and looks updated. It was clean and smelled great! The residents all seemed very happy and there was a robust activity calendar in each area of the community. The memory care was lively and the caregivers were engaged and looked like they loved their jobs. Melissa and Julian were fantastic hosts!

We have had the absolute best experience with Silvercrest Garner Farms Senior Living. I’ve been working with their team for over a year, and they have supported us through every step of moving my parents from Texas to Iowa—no small task. They helped me through both my tears and my fears, and they worked tirelessly to find the perfect placement for each of my parents. Melissa Christensen has been absolutely amazing to work with, and Katie has been so helpful in guiding us through costs and making those conversations comfortable and easy. My dad is in Assisted Living and my mom is in Independent Living, and both have been cared for with such kindness and attention. The food is wonderful—and during our move, they even provided a week of free lunches, which was such a thoughtful touch. The staff is incredibly attentive and always calls if they notice anything we should be aware of. The facility itself is beautiful, and the maintenance team is outstanding. I mentioned an issue with the microwave, and when I came back, a brand-new one had already been installed—fast, caring service. Most importantly, the Assisted Living staff working with my dad are exceptional. They are compassionate, patient, and have built a wonderful relationship with him. Silvercrest has supported us every step of the way, including navigating family communication and differing personalities. I truly cannot give a higher recommendation. Silvercrest Garner Farms has been a blessing to our family.

My wife Ginny and I love living here. We take care of Ginny's mother Joan. She is 93, loves to play bingo. There quite a few people here in their 90"s! There is a lot of good people living here with a wonderful staff! I highly recommend Silvercrest retirement home!

The environment is warm and modern. The apartments are spacious and updated. The facility was very nice and clean. We walked around the entire facility and nothing seemed to be out of order or requiring any maintenance or cleaning. Melissa was our guide and she was very friendly and helpful. This is definitely a place I am considering to have my dad stay when the time comes.

It can be hard to know what to do with an elderly parent who cannot be left alone when you want to travel afar to visit your grandchildren. Silvercrest made the process very easy to navigate. Everyone was very kind and helpful and my father’s two week respite stay went very smooth. The staff made my father feel very welcome and helped him maneuver their schedule. It was a relief to find such a wonderful place to help me so I could travel. He also made friends with another early riser as they waited for breakfast to open

My husband and I have been here 3 months and it is a fun place full of activities and friendly attentive staff and tenants. The food choices and quality is outstanding. The common areas are always clean. You couldn't be bored. Bus trips available for activities and appointments.

Toured with my mom and Tressa did an excellent job of showing us the amenities and more importantly the style, feeling and energy of the place. We were impressed with the facility and while I cannot comment on actually living there, I can say Tressa was fabulous to work with. Nothing high pressure and all about helping you understand aspects about the decision to make the move. We ended up at a different place mostly because of proximity to family. I recommend at least a visit to Silvercrest and think you will be impressed.

Everyone is short-handed, but this place seems to be exceptionally so. Front desk is often not manned, and when it is they are usually not helpful; every receptionist I've encountered in the past eight months could use some training. Poor communication amongst staff. Nursing staff, however, are friendly and help where they can.

Loved Independent Living environment, very nice apts, underground parking, ambassadors were all very friendly and helpful. I think the ambassadors are the best part of Ind Living. They keep an eye on residents and let family know if they notice anything concerning. After the Covid-19 shutdowns, many residents declined in different ways. My mother declined cognitively. Her short term memory started to fail. We gave it a year, but she continued to decline to the point where we thought it wise to get her to assisted living while she still had the ability to feel comfortable in a new environment. Glad we did. There's a lot of staff running around in ALiv. All want to be very helpful, but they have limited knowledge of anything outside their function. Not that it's a bad thing, but it is a little frustrating for the first couple of weeks. I've always found in business that most people want to be included and be able to assist with simple things. Communication is key. ALiving is a very nice building, with a courtyard and a path for walking. I haven't noticed many residents walking out there. One said that the path is too rough and she's afraid she may fall. It is a stamped concrete. I think more residents might use it if it was a flat concrete that their walkers or wheelchairs would glide over more smoothly. Overall, both facilities are very nice and I am happy to have mom there.

The assistants are all very kind to my mil, but the assistant living facility is highly understaffed. Long wait times to get assistance and only one driver for appointments so my wheel chair bound mil often has to cancel appts because the drivers schedule is filled. Only one nurse and it takes too long for her to visit. My mil had a bad bed sore that was not attended to for weeks.
