I came to this facility Dec. 2022 as agency nurse but as of June 2024, I became employee. I enjoy working with the staff and management team. I am allowed to take lengthy out of country vacations to visit family and friends twice a year which is very important to me. I have worked on Skilled unit where I have seen several residents who have discharged return because of good care that was received in previous stay. The residents enjoy bingo and other activities provided by facility. The residents/staff really enjoyed being able to participate in the eclipse a few months back and was provided the eye wear as well. The residents enjoy being able to choose from menu options, substitutes and variety of snacks according to diet as well as supplements for nutritional needs. The building is well kept and clean. Any issues are resolved in a timely manner because safety is important for residents and staff. Thank you for allowing me to be apart of Risen Son Christian Village community.

Risen son is a wonderful place to work and a wonderful place for your loved ones to reside. We are here for the residents best interests and love each and every one of them like our own family member. Each department works together to make sure everyone is well taken care of. I've been an employee here since 2018 and have enjoyed every second of it. It feels like a big happy family, From staff, to residents, to their own family.

Risen son is a beautiful campus on the outskirts of Council Bluffs. The staff truly care about the residents they serve. The food is phenomenal, the building is clean and the therapy department does a stellar job with rehab services.

My experience with Risen Son Christian Village has been absolutely amazing. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Its very clear that they are there for one purposes. To make sure the residents are Happy abd well taken care of. Their meals are prepared in a very clean kitchen and food is actually edible.

I joined the Risen Son Christian Village team in 2018 as soon as I graduated high school from Lewis Central, just down the highway. It has been one of the greatest honors of my life to care for the older generation. From the garden homes, to the independent living apartments, to assisted living, memory care, and all the way to the skilled units- Risen Son is truly a hidden gem. The days are full of activities and the staff has huge hearts! Come check out our mansion on hwy 92 today, you're gonna love it!

Risen Son has a great team of tightly knit staff across all departments. They truly care about the residents and each other, and this shows through the work they do. The building is clean, and the activities are vibrant across the campus. The therapy team is top notch! Highly recommend Risen Son and encourage everyone to tour to see for yourself!

Great place with amazing residents, staff, and volunteers. This place is like a big family with lots to do. Yes there is currently some construction being done but everyone seems to be helpful on why and doing what they can to make it feel like home. Love this place!

The nurses are really caring, great staffing ratios, and their therapy team is top notch! They really take the time to get to know each and every resident so their individual needs are met. Very happy with my time spent there!

Every department works together to really make this place home for the residents, including the rehab residents as well. Amazing therapy and nursing team that really work towards helping your loved ones obtain their goals! I would recommend Risen Son for anyone's loved ones, including my own!

I visit a dear friend once a week at the memory care location. Walking up, the entry window is always filthy. Makes you a little nervous on sanitary practice just walking in. Going down the hall. Floor has been filthy in the front TV room and walking down the hall. Went into my friends room and floor was filthy there as well. Looked around and her table hasn't been cleaned for who knows how long. The clock was dirty and even the light switches. Does anyone un management's care about cleanliness? How about sanitation? How about contamination or cross contamination? Just because the pandemonium is over doesn't now you can relax and stop carring about the people you are in charge of. After all the facility it responsible for the over all health and well being. Please clean up and start sanitizing regularly please. Don't wait for another pandemic. Be vigilant.

Mom was sent to this rehab after surgery during the pandemic. Although I am typically not impressed with these types of facilities I thought this was the best we have seen in years. Clean, friendly, appears to be well maintained. Food was a little high carb for her needs, but you can bring your own. They had refrigerators. She was probably in bed a little more than expected after surgery so she had a slow start at rehab, but did well. Yes, I think you can safely send your loved one there. There were small annoyances of course (lost her blanket). They sent updates about covid, and how many patients or workers had covid (none when we were there). Appeared to be attentive to her needs. It was a good facility overall.

My mom has been living at Risen Son for 3 years now. She has gone from being independent, to needing assistance, to now full nursing care. At every stop on her heart disease, aging journey, the staff has been understanding and so helpful! The residents are kind to one another, and all staff (PT, OT, nursing, secretary, cleaning, and dining) call my mom by name. The nursing staff are kind and caring. You do run into the very occasional grumpy staff, but that is true at any place, or on any given day for any staff, I suspect. Mom particularly enjoys the administrator (Greg) whistling or singing as he walks the halls. Greg, not only knows the residents names, but knew my husbands and my name within a week and calls us by name every time we see him. The one thing they need to improve is the food. I know this is very difficult at a large facility, but it does need improvement in the nursing and assisted halls particularly. Maybe that is the best they can do, I have not compared food at other nursing facilities, so I dont know. I still rate a 5 because my Mom is always given the option for a PB&J, or hot dog, or grilled cheese if she doesnt want her food. I would definitely recommend Risen Son. As a family member, it is still wise and right to visit often and be an advocate. Staff are only human, and may forget things, but when you treat this as a partnership and keep communication open, it is best for everyone...especially the loved one living there!
