My sister was a patient at Northbrook Manor Care Center. She received excellent care. The staff are Caring individuals! When she passed away the nurses came and hugged us and we were grateful that she was a patient there.

My wife is a current resident. While this is an older facility it is well kept and clean. Their are, in my experience, no unpleasant odors or clusters of wheel chairs blocking halls or nursing stations. I generally visit four times a week so I have seen, heard and overheard numerous conversations between residents and staff. I every such event I have heard the staff being kind, patient, courteous and effective. I believe the staff from top to bottom to be well trained and happy in their work. I have never encountered or overheard a grumpy or or unkind remark from staff. Their are numerous weekly social events for residents including a Happy Hour. Daily exercise suitable for the typical resident and periodic live entertainment events also occur. All in all, while we dreaded the day we were told my wife required round the clock nursing care my wife and I are very pleased with our decision to choose Northbrook as her long term skilled nursing facility. It happens that I have met a number of people who have had short term stays at Northbrook or had relatives who were long term residents in the past. All of these contacts have agreed with my assessment of Northbrook and its staff.
