My sister is getting excellent care at Edencrest. Within two weeks of moving in she said "I feel right at home." Diagnosed with Alzheimer's in her late sixties, she had struggled with living on her own. Now she is thriving. She enjoys the many activities and outings that Edencrest provides. The facilities are beautiful with a wide welcoming hallway that greets you as you enter along with a large seating area, tv area, grand piano and other amenities. I was amazed by the layout which makes the dining and meeting rooms, library, and other gathering areas convenient and accessible. They offer exercise classes, physical therapy sessions, a hairstylist, an activity room for crafts, an inviting area for games and puzzles, and much more. There is always something going on for the residents including parties for special occasions and holidays. Her apartment is beautiful and the staff could not be more caring. My sister is happy and well cared for. My family and I could not be happier with the peace of mind that Edencrest has brought to my sister and to all of us. I highly recommend this place that is not a facility but a place to call home.

Admitting my Mother to a memory care facility is one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. My Mother became a resident at Edencrest Siena Hills at the end of March 2024. Shayla was the first employee we encountered and she was such a calming presence and caring soul. It took a while for my Mother to become comfortable in her new settings, but the staff there was always patient with and kind to her. I had a video chat device in Mom's room that was not functioning properly one evening and I was able to see and hear what was going on in her room, though the staff was unaware. Mercy was so gentle and sweet with her while Mom was having a sundowning episode. Seeing that gave me such comfort and peace knowing that even if I wasn't there in person to oversee, she was being treated respectfully. Another person who was so very valuable to our family is Zach, the maintenance director. This young man went above and beyond in helping us with any needs we had for Mom's room. The aforementioned video chat device was actually installed by Zach for me, although I'm not sure it was something he was required to do. He was always warm and friendly and was happy to be of help in any way. My Mother was recently moved to Nevada to be near family. Even though she is no longer a resident there, Zach has been helpful to me here in getting her video chat device set up. He certainly could have just deleted me from his phone, instead he replies to my questions quickly and thoughtfully. He is definitely an asset to the facility. Alison is very competent at her job, kind and helpful. She had an assistant for a while, and I'm hopeful they can find more help for her. She has too many patients to keep track of and it sometimes took awhile for me to have questions answered. I truly believe this is a staffing issue, not an Alison issue. In summation, Edencrest was a positive experience for my Mother and our family thanks all who cared for her.

Very nice facility. The nursing staff and direct care staff do a great job. They seem understaffed a bit across the board, which is typical for all care agencies at this time. Food and activities are decent. I would like to see more activities offered for the memory care residents. Price is in line for this line of care.

Edencrest at Siena Hills have consistently been one of the top rated Senior living communities in the Des Moines metro. I worked as a competitor to this community for 2 years in Bondurant so I am very aware of how they operate! One thing you can be sure to receive from this community is really friendly team members and a beautiful community full of great residents that care! I would recommend this community to anyone including my own family members. When you drop in for a tour tell them The Minds sent you! - Be blessed!

[3/19/24 edit. Edencrest new accounting firm did successfully resolve this billing issue.] [3/13/24 edit. Edencrest has changed accounting firms and the are now working to correct error mentioned in my original review posted yesterday.] [initial review] Edencrest incorrectly billed. I talked with director and emailed more than once, documenting incorrectly attributed payments.

My mom has found a home. She is treated with respect and love from all the staff. I can stop in and all know me and greet me. My mom is doing so much more in activities

Making the transition to any facility is difficult and we tried several in Ankeny before coming to Edencrest. It just felt like home. I guess there is no other way to describe it. The staff truly approaches service from this perspective and it makes all the difference. If I could give Edencrest at Siena Hills 6 stars I would. Try this place first when you set out on this transition. When it comes to placing a loved one, there is no place like home.

Absolutely recommend! Everything & everyone from the front office to the housekeeping staff was above and beyond exceptional. Mom would not leave Iowa and I am in Florida so having a team around her I could work with for every detail, from the big stuff like medicine management to the little details like having them remind Mom to turn on her cellphone, was such a blessing! I am forever grateful to the Edencrest team and just wish we had moved her there sooner! Thank you!

This Spring I decided it was necessary to move into an Assisted Living facility. I was naturally concerned about this big adjustment in my life, I did my research and visited several locations to find a place that was comfortable for me. I had gone through placing my mother in an AL location in the past so I knew right away what was important to me in my search. I decided upon Edencrest at Siena Hills in Ankeny. I was looking for a warm friendly atmosphere and staff. I was looking for a place where smiles, respect for all and kindness were evident on a daily basis! I was looking for tasteful, healthy food and excellent medical assistance if needed. Edencrest at Siena Hills showed all of the above and more. There is a true feeling of family and friends among staff and residents. I am so thankful to be here. I encourage anyone to please visit - I love it here!
