My mother has been a resident at Sodalis Martinez since Jan 2, 2024. As a Healthcare provider myself I reviewed many options before choosing Sodalis & I certainly believe I chose the best in my area for Mama. The facility itself is one of the cleanest I've ever seen & it stays that way. The receptionist, Sonya is cheerful & always smiling & I feel confident she will pass any messages along I give her. Channing helped me find sitters for Mama after she had been hospitalized & she is pleasant & easy to work with. Miss T who is the lead medication tech is always aware of any medication changes Mama may have and makes sure any meds that are discontinued are done so immediately. Ashley Derrick was so welcoming & friendly when she gave us our first tour & made Mama feel at home her first few weeks which can be a scary time. The activities director always provides entertaining & fun things for the residents to participate in & encouraged Mama to be a part of the community. I cannot day enough about Tonya Gross, PT & the fact that having PT in house has benefitted Mama & me tremendously. She is excellent in her skill set of getting the residents to make progress daily & sets very achievable goals. She is a huge asset to the facility. Most of my interaction has been w/the evening shift & they are outstanding & work together as a team should. There have been some personnel changes which is common in this field but the evening shift MA's, CNA's & Med Techs have maintained excellent quality of care despite these changes & never leave Mama's room without asking her if she needs anything else. They are responsible not only for the care of the residents but also keeping the residents common areas clean, pulling residents trash & insuring the facility is locked & secure in the evening. They do all of this and more with smiles on their faces. I highly recommend Sodalis at Martinez if you want a place for your loved one who will not only be cared for but loved as well. I had the pleasure of visiting this property for my elderly father, I was highly impressed with the staff, all the activities they offer residents, and let's not mention the cleanliness. I was welcomed with the utmost professionalism!!! When choosing a place for your family it can be a hard decision and they truly made me feel so good about everything!

I came as a caregiver and upon my initial observation you can't tell what this place is. There was a friendly staff member outside who directed me to the front desk before I entered the building as this was my first visit. There were happy residents playing bingo in the first room to my left. The front desk was straight ahead. I signed the guest book and sat with my client. The staff is really helpful in guiding me and giving me advice.

My dad lived out his last 2 plus years at Sodalis. I cannot say enough good things about his experience there. Running an assisted living facility is probably as hard as a business to run as I could imagine. I know for a fact that dealing with my dad could be difficult, but the staff did such a great job these last few years. If he was difficult, they didn't freak out, but they worked with our family to come up with a solution and they did on multiple occasions. They also treated him like a person and not a room # which some other facilities have done. The compassion the staff showed him the last few months was unreal. They went above and beyond the call of duty multiple times. I highly recommend Sodalis for your loved ones and especially want to thank Channing, Mrs T, CeCe, Kim, Tori, and Stephanie for the care they gave my dad.

Elegant senior living community with compassionate staff. My grandfather loved it after touring. My family and I were overjoyed with the way the staff included us in every detail and made us feel like family. The executive director was so pleasant and her warm demeanor made us feel so comfortable! We are so thankful for them and we look forward to seeing the smile on my grandfather's face last forever!

DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE 5 STAR REVIEWS!!! Over half of them were written... and by EMPLOYEES trying to raise their poor ratings! VERY MISLEADING AND DECEITFUL!!! My mother lived at Elmcroft (which was just recently renamed Sodalis) for over 4 years! When she first moved in, Becky Waller was the manager and she was great! They also had some amazing employees... Heather, DeeDee, Doris, Michelle and Diane (none of whom are there anymore). Even after they left, they still came back to visit with my mom and took her out to eat. They are compassionate, caring and still treat my mom with the utmost LOVE and respect; just as we all want our parents to be treated. I was just a short walk away from Elmcroft and visited my mom almost daily so I was very aware of the care my mom was receiving. This USED TO BE a great assisted living facility. Then, they were bought out and redecorated. It might look pretty, but everything went down hill! There was a big turnover in staff. As soon as Natalie became the director, it all fell apart!!! She was HORRIBLE!!!! She couldn't keep any good employees (and now, I completely understand why). My mom constantly complained about the food so I had to go out and buy her meals. Thank God she didn't need a high level of care. Fortunately, she was for the most part, independent. Although there were a few new employees she liked, she just wasn't as happy. This once enjoyable community became depressing. Clearly, this was evident to the residents and their families because they started moving out quickly. Although my mom doesn't like change and hates to move, she just couldn't take it anymore and begged me to move her to another Assisted Living Community very nearby. I happily agreed! We went into Natalie's office to give her notice and she spoke VERY INAPPROPRIATLY to my mom. I told her never to disrespect my mom like that again. If she acted like that in front of me, I wondered how she treated residents when no one was around (I later found out why so many good employees and residents left). I couldn't wait to get my mother out of that place! She is now THRIVING somewhere else and couldn't be happier!! Many of the employees I mentioned above have moved there as well and during my frequent visits come in to say hello and it's (not surprisingly) at 100% occupancy with a waiting list!!! I also learned that under Natalie's management, Elmcroft got down to only 7 residents (not including Heartland). That's pitiful, but not unexpected. I guess they decided to change the name to Sodalis because Elmcroft was known around town as an under par facility even though they were still charging high rates. If you are looking for an Assisted Living Facility for one or both of your parents, I have no doubt you want the best for them. Reading reviews are part of doing your due diligence. It's not easy when the people who sacrificed and cared for you your entire life now rely on you to find a loving, caring environment for them to spend the rest of their living days on earth. Trust your gut and ask around. That's about all you can do. I finally found the best place for my Mom who was married to my Dad for over 60 years. Her best friend is gone, but now she is making new friends and my heart couldn't be happier. Good luck!

I like how residents are treated with dignity and respect. The facility is amazing and I love the devotionals they have for their residents. Its comforting to know that the residents are being kept safe with covid protocols still in place, such as requiring masks inside the building still. Elmcroft is the safest place for senior citizens to live in the midst of the pandemic. Very relaxing environment.

Our mother was a resident for five years and I cannot say enough good things about her care and the quality of the facility. She was given wonderful attention for her personal and medical needs. The last two or more years she spent in their Heartland Memory unit. Her stay there was excellent. The care was personal, warm and caring. I felt as though the staff there were family. The food was always very very good, the rooms were clean and well appointed. Nursing and technical care was excellent. Two people in particular were extremely helpful to us and our mother, Dee Dee McClattie the head of the memory unit and Becky Waller the Elmcroft Director. They were wonderful in their years of caring and making it work for our mother.

The care at this community is good. The staff is good and friendly and caring. We like the cleanliness is good but needs small improvements. The menu is very good and I like knowing that she does like the variety. They do have trips away from the community that she does like a lot. This community comes highly recommended.

I toured this community for care. We liked the staff who were caring and we able to answer the questions. The community is very clean and we were impressed with the nice environment. The other residents were enjoying the activities, and we were able to see the menu that is available. We would recommend that families tour this community for the care of a loved one.

Every time we've gone in we are welcomed like family. It doesn't matter what time of day you go, you see genuinely happy staff and residents. Mom has been there just over a month and feels completely at home. We no longer worry about her forgetting her meds because they make sure she takes them on time. We don't worry about her skipping meals because she just didn't feel like fixing anything because all of the meals are provided. I would recommend Elmcroft of Martinez to anyone who was looking for assisted living for their aging parent.
