Palmetto Landing – Reviews
We moved my mom in a few weeks ago. She LOVES it so there so much!!! Her room is the perfect size and she even got to bring her favorite child (her cat Bernie) with her. The staff is phenomenal. They treat my mom like a friend and everyone is so genuinely engaging with her. There are tons of activities and Wednesday group outings. The other evening I called my mom and she said: “I can’t talk now, it’s movie night and I don’t want to be late.” This past week with Hurricane Ian barreling down on us, the staff did an amazing job of preparing the facility and keeping everyone calm (including those of us who were worried about our resident family members). I just can’t say enough about how thankful I am that we chose Palmetto Landing for this next phase of my mom’s life. She is happier than I’ve seen her in a long time.
Palmetto Landing has been wonderful to work with. They have treated my Mom, who is in the Memory Care Unit, with dignity and respect and have addressed any concerns that I have had. The staff is friendly and caring. Food is good. Courtyard is beautiful. Smaller facility that has a great patient/resident ratio. Director has been in contact with me personally to answer questions. I am very thankful my Mom is a resident here.
Love working at Palmetto Landing. If it wasn't for the ED Michella I don't think I would work here. She makes you feel welcome and she treats you like family. She goes the extra mile to make sure not only is her residents cared for she always make sure her staff is cared for too.
I have had the pleasure of working here for the last couple of years and I must say I really enjoy it. Working with a wonderful ED like Michella makes the job even better. She goes that extra mile to make you feel welcomed from the time you enter the building till you walk out.
I’ve been here for a year and must say Palmetto Landing is one of the best facilities I’ve had the honor of working at. The staff is amazing and shows nothing but teamwork throughout every department!! Management is impeccable making sure to treat each of us with respect and dignity we deserve. I love coming in to work and talking with the residents as they are so warm welcoming and will turn your frown upside in a split second!!!! I would highly recommend anyone, whether you’re looking for a place for your loved one or looking for a place to begin your career path, you won’t be disappointed.
My mom was a resident at Palmetto Landing before her passing. I don't think I could have placed her in a better place. She took ill while we were away on vacation and had to be sent to the hospital. The young ladies from the staff took turns sitting with her at the hospital until we were able to return. I don't know where you could find a loving bunch of humans anywhere else. The director Michella Anderson kept in contact with us from the beginning to the end. She embraced us as if we were a part of her family. Without her prayers, I don't think we could have gotten through. So to her and her staff thank you for all that you do and may God keep his hand on your building, staff, and residents.
My 91 years old Mom, a non-English speaker resident at Palmetto Landing Assistant Living where the staff, nurses and caregivers do care about their residents. They use google translator, body language or call family member to overcome language barriers. Here are some things that I have observed recently: - Chefs Mike, Shawn would spend time getting to know her diet, the food she likes or dislikes, adjust her meals preference. - Front desk Kathy, Mira would do anything required in helping residents with smiling faces. - Agatha work closely with personnel to make sure medication-dose distributed properly. - Nurse Edna would do all the chores helping residents on weekends. - Natacha Lherisson does good job in helping choosing packages flexibly. Under the professional and excellent leadership of Executive Director Michella Anderson, all stuff there hard working, friendly, patient and helpful. I would highly recommend this place to anyone considering-choosing a Home for your loved ones. -
My grandparents are residents of Palmetto Landing and absolutely love it! They were previously at Encore at Avalon Park but found the costs to be too much and had a need to cut costs. Once we toured the community, we knew we had found the perfect option for them. My grandmother helps with outside gardening and my grandfather helps with popcorn time! They have a wonderful entertainment area with a baby grand piano and a TV playing old time movies and TV shows. The community feel is much different than any of the Assisted Living Facilities I visited with them in the past. They dont have nurses and doctors rushing around in the halls, or beeping monitors making loud noises throughout the building. Its a single story facility and has someone at the front to sign in visitors all the time. The dining room has another small piano and everyone eats together like a big family. The residents are mostly of sound mind, just enjoying life with the safety and security of their needs being cared for. I would highly recommend Palmetto Landing to anyone looking to relocate to Assisted Living.
I went to Palmetto Landing. It was OK, but their dining facility was like a cafeteria, and my grandmother would not like that. The staff was really nice, but it was not a good fit for her. I did not get a warm and fuzzy feeling there. I remember them having a sitting area and an outdoor area.
Very caring staff!
Brookdale Tuskawilla was very nice. I was very impressed. The staff was very professional, very friendly, and very nice. I liked the rooms. Some of them were a little bit smaller than others, but they were big enough, neat, and clean. At the time, there were some people in the gym doing exercises. The location was good. If a family came, they could go out and have something to eat with them or go to the mall because it was not too far away.
Im a frequent visitor at the tuskawilla location and im so impressed with the management staff, and the personal care to each resident. Ive been to other assisted living communities, but this one, you feel the love when you walk in the door.
We chose Brookdale Tuskawilla for my mom. Besides the fact that it was clean, and the food was good; I like the friendliness of the people that I met. I talked to some of the residents, and got their opinions as well so that was really important to me. I just had a feeling that this would be a perfect place. We are very happy with it.
There were a lot of good things about Brookdale Tuskawilla, like the atmosphere, the meal selection, and the room size. The staff is very good. I thought the rooms were of a good size. The food is very good, and shes very happy. They do a lot of things, like go shopping, have dancing and card parties, and go on museum tours.
My mom is in Emeritus, and dad was here before. It was close and convenient for family visits. They are very friendly and helpful. Its a typical assisted living facility. They had a lot of activities to participate in that I saw; they had a full calendar like bingo, movie nights, field trips out to various shopping places, and once a week they do a lunch out to nearby restaurants. Its kind of a mixed skilled nursing with the assisted living. The rooms are very clean -- they just redid it about three years ago -- and it is absolutely a quiet place. They have a good nature out back; it is near a retention pond that has wild life all around it. They are quiet and secluded. The food is kind of typical as far as like home cooking kind of meals and kind of home style. I have recommended the facility to people.
I am a friend of an individual who had a respite stay. This place is really nice, It smelled good, food was great. Staff was friendly and passionate about the foks living there. The Executive Director and Resident Care Director along with the rest of the crew were always ready to help. These people really care about the elderly, they go above and beyond on a daily basis. We visited several other assisted living communities. This emeritus community continues to be our top contender.
The meals at Emeritus at Tuskawilla were not as good as the other facilities. They had pretty nice rooms there. They were decent sizes, not too small. In terms of security, I think it is very safe because they have lock-up hour at a certain time. I would say this community is pretty secure.
Emeritus was very nice. It was an excellent facility. The staff did a great job. She was informative, and I had no issues with her at all. The single rooms were kind of small. They didn't have a double room, which was much more to my parents liking. They didn't like the smallest of the single rooms. The dining room was very nice, well organized and detailed. It was a very good atmosphere.
Emeritus was very good and I was happy with them. The staff was excellent. There were some activities going on with the residents. They brought me into the rooms and they were very nice. The dining room was very nice but I did not eat there.
I didnt have much opportunity to look around at Emeritus at Tuskawilla, but the facility is beautiful. They have an activity's director and they listed the things to do in the hallway. They have bingo, church meetings, and it looked like they had a game room going on just about all the time. At that time, the place was full so I didnt spend a lot of time researching.
