My wife has been there for 7 months and is completely settled in her new home environment. The wait to get into A Banyan was well worth it! Everyone on staff, from directors, caregivers, kitchen and maintenance crews all show genuine concern and caring for the mixture of assisted living and memory care residents alike. They are all professional and vigilant in their respective fields. I really don't think you could find better quality care than A Banyan. All services, all the time, for all residents!

We feel qualified to post this review in that my wife Beverly has been a resident for the past 14 months-No matter how hard you search you will not find a better facility. Banyan is first class in all categories- beginning with the management-always available, ---Additionally you have access to Doctors who visit regularly on a scheduled basis -on site dental, podiatrist, physical therapy, speech therapy, The caregivers are really excellent-with very little turn over. We had agency home care for Beverly for over 2 years and find the quality at Banyan superior. Comparing the housing to those other facilities we visited prior to our residency at Banyan - really no comparison. Banyan has two full time activity directors who have daily activities scheduled and published monthly in advance- Scheduled weekly bus outings for the residence for lunch (for those who wish to attend), plus bus tours, Sunday Barbecues for residence and they families. The food in the cafeteria is very good-speciality diets satisfied. The facility itself is clean-well maintained which is quite evident upon a guided tour. The grounds speak for themselves. Needless to say--we are very happy/pleased with Banyan. There is in utopia-But in our opinion this is as close as it gets.

My husband has now resided at Banyan for four months. It was a difficult decision but one which was made easier by the loving staff. The maintenance and care staff are quick to reply when anything is needed. Hugs and kisses are plentiful, which my husband likes. The grounds provide a pleasant environment for visitors as well as the residents. They are often talking about the butterflies or the koi. The fountains, the outside seating and the exceptional care were what helped me make this decision. I have no regrets and feel that Jerry is well cared for.

I am really pleased to do a review of A Banyan Residence in Venice, Florida. My husband and I moved to Venice from Massachusetts a couple of months ago and shortly after we arrived, we began touring assisted living facilities nearby for my mom. When we visited the Banyan in Venice, we knew instantly that this was the right place for my mom and for us. It was nothing like we had ever seen before; from amazing tropical gardens and meticulous grounds to the vitality and happiness of the residents. The personal attention and responsiveness from the Director and staff towards the residents and families is easy to see through their caring and respectful interactions. As family members, we also feel very welcome and visit several times during the week. We see the daily and nightly care that is consistently being given to all residents. The staff goes out of their way to make the residents comfortable and happy. They have been kind and comforting while supporting my mom's successful transition to a new home. There is a therapeutic value to the physical set up and outside space. The ability be outside in nature is healing in and of itself. You see many residents enjoying and benefiting from the beautiful surroundings and the tranquility from such a peaceful setting. Butterfly gardens with all different species are visible throughout the walkways and paths. There is an incredible Koi fishpond where the residents and family members enjoy sitting and just watching or feeding the fish. Birds can be spotted throughout the gardens and there is always great easy listening music playing. The residents have many opportunities to interact with their neighbors and make new acquaintances. There are daily activities both onsite and scheduled trips offsite during the week. Many enjoy sitting outside to visit with other residents or gather at the Gazebo. The residents are surrounded by beauty throughout the grounds. This is a family business so there is continuity of care and high expectations that are consistently maintained. From the beautiful outdoor space to the clean well-kept indoor facility there is great attention to detail at the Banyan. In our previous experiences with other assisted living facilities, there was a high turnover of directors and staff. This had a negative impact of my mom and other residents. When your loved one has memory concerns, even minor changes are extremely disruptive to their routine and well-being. Banyan goes out of its way to help mitigate feelings of anxiety by providing care, comfort, and assurance. My mom has been at the Banyan for a couple of months now, and the experience has been transformative for her. She is more like herself than we have seen for years. My brother came from out of state to visit her and was astounded by the positive changes. My son also visited recently and made the same observations. Most importantly, she is happy, safe, and thriving. The location is also fantastic. The Banyan is on a quiet road and is only minutes away from the beautiful beaches and downtown Venice which my mom loves! We feel extremely grateful that we had the option to select such an exceptional placement for my mom and for the positive experience that it has been for all of us. Thank you, Amy and Sal Emma

After meeting Blake and several of his team members, I was quite sure that A Banyan Residence with its beautiful koi pond, butterfly garden and extensive greenery would be the best place for my mom. To my delight, when she was able to move into her little private apartment, she adjusted immediately and could hardly wait to tell her friends how beautiful her new home was. She feels independent yet has all the help that she needs from a caring and wonderful support staff. I would highly recommend A Banyan Residence to anyone who wants to feel like they are at a resort as opposed to an institution. The food is fantastic and the “friends and family barbecue” on Sundays as well as all the many resident activities make it a complete package.

My husband lived at A Banyan Residence for 16 months before he passed away and I could not have been happier with the care he received. The staff was very kind and attentive and I was welcome to visit at any time. It is never easy to place a loved one in a facility but he was happy there and knowing he was well cared for gave me piece of mind. A Banyan Residence is family owned so each time I called or emailed I actually talked with a family member who knew my husband by name. I would highly recommend this facility.

My family had to deal with finding a place for our Dad. First time doing this so we knew nothing. Blake, at the banyan walked us through everything, helping and advising us so as to make this experience as pleasant and easy as possible for us all. We can't say enough about the staff and their passion for caring for the residents. The are so uplifting always singing and dancing, what ever it takes to stimulate the residents and get them involved in what the program has to offer. They have live music and cook outs and dancing. Stimulation room which is top of the art here in this country. Again I could go on and on but words don't do justice. Spend some time on their web site or facebook to see for yourself . Banyan has been my mother's home for 7 months. Previously, she was at an assisted living facility in Michigan that I was happy with, but once she moved into Banyan, her entire life changed...for the better. Her health has improved along with her disposition, and the best part, she is extremely happy with her new home. I have zero complaints. They knock it out of the park from health care, to her room, her laundry, the meals, and the people who are hired to care for those who live there. If you are looking for a safe and beautiful haven for someone you love, you can rest assured that Banyan is the extension of care you are looking for.

It was with much trepidation and heartache that I had to make a decision to move my dad into an assisted living facility this past March. We found a gem in A Banyan Residence! A week after my father moved in, Covid struck and the facility took great steps to ensure the health and safety of all staff and residents. The director has done a superb job making sure the virus has stayed away from Banyan including restricting visitation, eliminating outings, and frequent testing. These strict measures were taken from the beginning which paid off. Visitation reports from the Health Department have been stellar. Even though the residents cant currently leave the property due to Covid, the residents are treated every few weeks to delicious fare from food trucks, such as one from Sharkeys, as well as musical entertainment to help keep spirits high until normal outings can resume. The grounds are tropical, soothing and immaculate....just like a resort. The staff is caring, competent, accommodating and accessible. Any question I have is responded to quickly and efficiently. I highly recommend A Banyan Residence.

Our family agonized and researched for months over the decision about placing my wife Mary of 50 years in Memory Care. Eventually her unsafe and sometimes life-threatening behavior left us with no choice but to move forward. I can only thank God for somehow directing us to A Banyan Residence. The long dreaded transition turned out to be a simple and painless process. They (Banyan) knew EXACTLY how to handle their challenging mission. It was all hands on deck and their amazing staff focused and handled my wifes transition masterfully. The changes in Mary, in less than 2 short weeks, have been nothing short of miraculous. She is smiling, engaging with others, attending the many well thought out activities and SHE IS SAFE! My whole family is now beginning to heal and we can finally breathe again. Please keep in mind we did extensive, in-depth research and I encourage any family going the immeasurable pain inflicted by Alzheimer, Dementia to strongly consider this beautiful and very family oriented care center.

My parents have lived at Banyan Residence for a year now, and I cant say enough about the peace of mind that has come to me and my parents. I know that they are looked after in every way, I still visit them daily, but only for pleasure. Besides being a beautiful resort like setting landscaped beautifully, it does not look like your typical assisted living, it is filled with a staff that is caring and respectful. They have seen us thru many changes over the last year, and always did so with respect, thoughtfulness, and dignity to my parents. They also support me as a family member by sharing their knowledge and feedback. They call me directly with any concerns. They offer a PA who comes there weekly, and an RN who is onsite 5 days a week, as well as a staff that has been trained impeccably in every way. If you believe like I do that atmosphere, respect, dignity, and care are the most important things as you age, you cannot go wrong choosing Banyan Residence for your loved ones. I was referred there by two friends, and I have paid it forward by referring another friend. It is my pleasure to pass the word. Make sure to visit this little piece of paradise, meet their wonderful staff, and enjoy the peace of mind that I now have.

This facility which is more like a family if Im to be honest Is amazing! Not 1 or 2 or 3 but a 5 star assisted living resort with caring staff from the maintenance crew up to the dietary aides and the hardworking caregivers and caregiving Supervisor(sharla gelin such a smart loving selfless individual),also the upper management cant forget that awesome nurse julie.the grounds are just beautifully captivating.the mornings at Banyan are my favorites the inviting smells from the kitchen,matching with a lush tropical landscape and the accompanying beautiful smiles of both residents and staff. Its our own little slice of paradise. I often find myself getting lost in all the muliti sensory activities they usually have going on.ranging from live music to magic shows,ice cream socials and even cook outs. Believe it or not I even once saw llamas in there! Like real live llamas !! The residents absolutely loved it! I did too. Those images and more will stay with me for a long time.alot of these moments in much more are made here at the Banyan. So come experience some lasting moments with us and be part of our loving family. When I say this Im not overreacting but you wont find a single better facility, family in all florida. Great place to work. Great and safe facility for your loved ones to be cared for. I highly recommend a tour come meet and see what our family is all about.

Wonderful and caring staff. Christine Fankhauser is fantastic and she really cares! Beautiful community with lush gardens where both residents and visitors can enjoy. Never seen another community like this one! There are plenty of activities for the residents. After thoroughly researching and visiting 8 memory care facilities near me, I can unequivocally say that was the best selection for my family concerns. Before my Mom could become resident, she had a couple of tragic falls at home and sadly passed away shortly after. Before her passing Amanda & Andre were so helpful and compassionate. Andre actually visited my Mom several times while in the hospital. Amanda is an incredible administrator with a knowledgable background in memory care. They even referred me to other centers I might want to check during my search. They have just been wonderful throughout. I would certainly consider this facility for a loved one.
