While searching for my loved one who has dementia, we came across Osprey Lodge, as they can take care of all stages of Alzheimer’s disease residents. This was not easy to accept that I would be unrecognizable to my loved one and that they would eventually need more care. No doubt that Osprey Lodge would be that place. They help the residents and the families with understanding the disease with their knowledge and experience. The staff are amazing at what they do and how seamless they work together, and not to mention that a lot of them have been here for many years. I can explore all areas of the assisted living community with mom, even that she lives in memory care. My favorite part is enjoying the café and the lovely, screened porches overlooking the lake. My advice to you is not to wait – Its nice being the daughter and not the caregiver. Thank you, Osprey Lodge!

I recently had a wonderful experience visiting this beautiful community. The staff was warm and inviting and the residents were delightfully interactive. There were countless special touches I observed, including the adorable display of one resident’s collection of glass cowboy boots, the artwork, the Veteran’s wall, the lovely porches overlooking the water, the wine shop, and the large apartments. I was particularly impressed with the Director of Dining Services and his passion for creativity. I shared a delicious meal with a very special Director of Sales who clearly loves and is proud of this exceptional assisted living and memory care community. I own a placement service for people looking for senior living and I will be confident to recommend Osprey Lodge.

My mother moved into the Memory Care unit in April of this year. She was treated wonderfully by the staff and our family could not be happier. I saw all of the staff treat everyone there with kindness, understanding and a lot of patience. They organized a mass on tv on Sundays that felt like a community which I will miss. I always felt welcome when I came to see my Mom. From Morgan who greeted me as I came in, to Marcie, Myrna , Sharon and Amy who looked after my Mom. Kris kept the place clean. Michael who is in charge and Mo who helped us register were a pleasure . There were no gotchas.

I first became acquainted with Osprey Lodge several years ago when my husband developed Alzheimers Disease. He was in memory care for about a year and a half, and now my father who is much older, has been in assisted-living for almost a year. During that entire time I have never once heard a staff member speak a harsh word or show disrespect to a resident. Ive been amazed to watch the employees exhibit superior training during every kind of circumstance, even the most stressful. If I hadnt witnessed that with my husband I wouldnt have brought my father to Osprey Lodge, and as a result of both experiences, I am now planning on moving to Osprey myself when the need arises. I wouldnt be so sure I wanted to go there if I hadnt watched the staff...from administration all the way through the dining room employees...showing caring, kindness, and competency in their jobs. They go really far to try and make living there not only a comfortable experience, but a delightful one as well. I am so grateful that such a wonderful facility exists right here for our family, and I sincerely appreciate the hard work the staff does.

When the stroke at age 90 ended my plan for living out my years alone, my three adult children found several senior living facilities that seemed adequate for their independent-minded (fussy) father. None of them satisfied me until I was escorted through Osprey Lodge. Well! Thats more like it!Apartment living in two huge rooms with tub-shower and private toilet facility; view overlooking Lake Dora. part of the Lake Eustis complex; a mile or so from either Publix or Winn-Dixie; ready access from major highways; proper back porch for entertaining or just meditating; dining room and kitchen for dietitian directed, well-prepared meals in a restaurant atmosphere; weekly laundry and housekeeping services; and a welcoming cadre of seniors living in a well-managed (Allegro) apartment house. What more could I want? I like it! Sign me up!A little more than a year later it has met every expectation, including a daily calendar of in-house organized and directed activities I can choose for participation or not. Im happy here, and my kids are happy about it, too.

Osprey Lodge has been the best thing for my family! 3 Years ago we were faced with needing Memory Care for our Father and Assisted Living Care for our mother. It was a gut wrenching decision to move them out of their home and into a facility. We did our homework and decided Osprey Lodge would be the best place for them…and all I can say, is we should have done it sooner, especially moving dad into a memory care unit. We lost our father almost a year ago to Alzheimers, and we could not have asked for better people assisting us, caring for our father and helping our Mother. Mom still resides at Osprey Lodge, and she is like a new person! She has a busier social life than most people half her age. Not only does Osprey Lodge provide wonderful care, they ensures the residents (family to them) have entertainment, activities, and socials. They provide excellent communication with the families. Osprey Lodge is far more than just a beautiful place. My father is living in Assisted Living, and my sister and I rest well knowing he is safe and supported by all of the responsive and kind staff. Throughout the extraordinary challenges caused by the pandemic, Osprey management made necessary adjustments in protocols to protect the residents, keeping us well informed all along the way. Their services for everything from dining and housekeeping to the variety and quality of activities, are very impressive. Osprey Lodge is the premier Assisted Living facility in Florida as far as I am concerned. The facility itself is beautiful, well-kept and clean. An elderly friend of mine moved to Osprey Lodge 2 weeks ago. The place she was in was not very good, so this was definitely a big step up. The atmosphere and decor is beautiful. Every member of the staff I have had contact with have been very friendly and helpful. The apartments are very nice. She needed more lighting, they installed extra lights. They hung all her pictures and did a very professional job. They checked on her throughout her first couple days there, showed her around and introduced her to other residents. She says the food is very good and they give her so much she can't eat it all. And if I wasn't impressed enough already, I received a phone call giving me full details on her medical check-up. I give this place 2 thumbs up and would highly recommend it.

A beautiful clean community, quite large at 5 stories high, overlooking Lake Francis. The residents here are happy and well cared for, with plenty of activities to keep them busy 7 days a week. Restaurant style dining with wholesome fresh food. Very kind staff who often go out of their way to make sure residents have what they need. I worked there for awhile and it was a good experience- the staff are treated well. My wife has worked there for almost 4 years and loves the company and her residents. We would place our parents there when the time comes and be confident that they'd have a good life. Highly recommend!

I was invited to bring my old car to the 50-60's Car Cruise on April 17th at your fine facility, and really enjoyed myself, visiting with the residents and the other car guys. We were served a nice lunch and ice cream sodas, with a dose of Elvis! The staff of Osprey Lodge did a wonderful job of bringing this together for their residents. I was glad to come and be part of a fun time with the "Oldies". Jon E.

One of the things I like about Osprey Lodge of Tavares is it’s close to me. The day my sister moved there, she was hospitalized, but now, she looks better than I have seen her looking in months. They have a long list of things to do but she’s not interested. They have movies and Wii Bowling. Every time I go there, people are down in the lobby or outside talking to each other. One of my neighbors is over there and loves it. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. They go in and tell her when it’s meal time and talk to her. The community is clean and spacious. Everybody there is friendly; not only the workers but also the residents. The doctors come to see her. It’s a very nice place.

There are so many reasons we are grateful to have found Osprey Lodge. The assisted living side is beautiful with rich woods accents and cabin in the mountains atmosphere. The back lanai and patio over look Lake Frances. I have seen the menu but have only tasted the chocolate covered strawberries and they were pretty amazing! My father is a resident in the memory care facility. The rooms are large and most have a nice view. We enjoy spending time in the lanai and inclosed courtyard. The courtyard has a nice 2 person swing, picnic tables, flower gardens and is nicely landscaped. From time to time we also get to see a seaplane fly overhead. From the director to the cleaning crew and everyone in between have been a pleasure to work with. They get to know the family members of their residents personally. The MC nurses are providing care for my father far beyond any care I could provided. The staff is helping my family cope with the Alzheimer's process by providing their knowledge and understanding of this terrible disease. I know my father is in good hands.

I had a friend who was living in the Osprey Lodge, and she had a nice unit. It looks like a grand hotel. When you pull up to the portico and go into the lobby, it's very kind of rustic. It has a lot of animal heads up on the walls, very impressive. They have 2 wings on either side of the lobby, and it's like walking down the corridor in a big hotel. Her living room was so small she couldn't get a sofa in it, but the kitchenette had a dining area where she had her round dining table and chairs. Her window looked out onto a busy highway, but the window was so high and her chair was so low, so she couldn’t see anything. So I wasn't impressed with that, but I didn’t see one of the other units to make a comparison. It's very nice, but then it's pricey. They had the usual Bingo and little café, which I think is very nice because that brings people together to just chat over a cup of coffee. She was allowed to have her car.

I have to give this place 5 Stars. I would give it 10 if I could. My best friends mother is a resident at Osprey Lodge. We visited today and couldn't believe the interaction of the Administrator with the residents. She is fun and very involved. I would say the residents of Osprey Lodge look happy. I know we are very happy with our decison.

Osprey Lodge was beautiful. It was spacious and not crowded-looking whatsoever. Everything looked first-class with beautiful grounds and lodges. The people were friendly. The staff who toured me was friendly and nice. Their dining area was very pretty, but I didn’t eat there. I saw several apartments, but the one I really liked was the one that looked out over the lake.

Osprey Lodge is a very nice place and only three years old. The staff is excellent. My girlfriend has adapted very well. They have a formal dining room and a service where they come take your order. You have a choice of two entrees per meal, and you get a linen napkin. They have a little private dining room for reserving when you want to have your family for dinner. There are plenty of activities, like a morning walk, card games, and a small library with jigsaw puzzles. The apartments are of a good size. The bedrooms are 12'x12', and you share a common area. She’s in a two-bedroom apartment, but they have one-bedroom apartments that are more expensive. All in all, it was the best place I found after I spent three months researching.

We have my husband in Osprey Lodge since November. The food can be a little bit better, but the surroundings are beautiful. It is clean. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. They have an entertainment coordinator or a life health coordinator who plans programs and does a wonderful job.

We were going to move my parents at Osprey Lodge. It's a beautiful and nice place. The memory care was more like what we wanted. It had more people on staff from what we saw and observed. They have a lot of really nice activities for memory care, and they really tried to engage them as much as possible. They can do nature walks, and they have swings; it's beautiful place for people to come and visit their loved ones. It doesn?t have the look of an assisted living or Alzheimer?s unit; it looks like you are at a resort vacation. We felt they would get taken care of well there.
