When my aunt was about to move into Cherry Oak Active Senior Living Residence, I toured the facility. Everything is quite tidy, and everyone was occupied taking care of their duties. Everything was well-planned out. One behavior caught my attention, they were utilizing a balloon for their activity. They didn't have much, but what they did have was a stunning dining room, lovely chambers, and a lovely terrace. The bedrooms were enormous. I saw the ones with a roommate that are doubles. The personnel was excellent. Additionally, it is far less expensive than other locations, comparable to [link removed]. While not particularly extravagant, it is extremely neat, tidy, and well-organized.

My mother has lived here for 10 years now. She is well taken care of. The food is good. The place is always clean. The staff is friendly and communicative. She is happy woman about to turn 89 years old. I feel good knowing my mother lives here.Update January 2021: My mom just celebrated her 91st birthday. We went to visit her. They scheduled an appointment for us to see her outside. They are doing the best they can under the circumstances. I am still very pleased with the level of care my mother is receiving. They are very kind and accommodating.Update: My mom transitioned Feb 17th 2021 after a fall. While in the hospital knowing it was her time to leave she asked one thing "I want to go home." By home, she meant Active Senior Living. I made sure she did get home. The accommodated her hospice care. She was so grateful to be back home*Though at the time I had to be gowned and double masked, after taking the test (which was negative) they allowed me to go in and sit with my mother for a bit to say good bye. I sang her music to her and recited her own poetry that she had written.Thank you ASL, for always taking the best care of my mom.

This place has gone down the drain once it was sold to [name removed], the owner of colony as well! they neglect their residents and should you complain to the owner, he will want to relocate your loved ones for it! [name removed] is an obnoxious, cold-hearted, uncompassionate, money hungry monster! He is horrible with his employees and does not make sure residents are treated like humans! He cuts corners with hardly any staff through the night! He had employees that stole residents medications! They had my mother on Prozac, schizophrenia and anti seizure medications to dope her up! She never had or was diagnosed bipolar, nor ever suffer with schizophrenia or seizures! when I confronted their doctor, I was asked if I was a medical professional because I knew what they are used for! Once I got my mother off, she went through not eating and my family was there 2 & 3 times per day until she got her appetite back! once I did, they put her on hospice, even though she was not terminal! she had dementia, and was eating, alert, and looked amazing! There was no need for hospice at that point! once covid19 hit, I visited through the glass everyday with pictures to prove it! The first day they left her in her room, they said she had wanted to lay down, but after looking through her window, she was still in her nightgown at 4 in the afternoon! The second day, they changed her blinds so I couldn't see in her room! on the third day, I called 911! they left my mother in a room for 3 days to die! when an ambulance brought her to the ER, 2 doctors said she had a urinary tract infection and was severely dehydrated! They also said, other than that and the dementia, she was in excellent health! She also had a bedsore on her ankle and both elbows! My grandmoms loves it there. Last year we're visiting for mothers day and asked that her room be painted so we could decorate it. They painted it the day before and we were all able to decorate it for her on mothers day.
