My Daughter and I visited a competitor and were so dismayed with the competitor's treatment of dear people that we almost cancelled our appointment with St. Augustine Plantation Memory Care. What a mistake that would have been not to have visited St. Augustine Plantation Memory Care. From the moment we entered St. Augustine Plantation's new facility, obviously designed for memory care, we sensed the difference from other competitors. The facility, the management, the staff, and the feeling of warmth were our first impression. That first impression has proved to be strengthened and not eroded. The facility has lots to do - outdoor backyard experience, inside patio with what looks like virgin Florida forest for a view, a Living Room that makes one feel at home, great room for activity, fellowship and dining, and an activity center. The rooms have outside views of the same forest. My wife has been more than lovingly cared for which I cannot express how that has helped her and me. If asked to make a recommendation to improve the care and facility, I would be at a loss of what to say. The staff treats my wife, and me, as I visit nearly every day, as part of the family. The management has sat down with me and asked how they can help to meet our goals. The level of their compassion was a surprise. I have never given a recommendation before of any kind, but St. Augustine Plantation Memory Care deserves my first.

Wow wow wow let me just say this. This place is amazing I’ve been here a few times dropping off deliveries and it’s always something going on. The residents are always smiling and happy and so In tuned with the activities. I was only in for a few seconds dropping off a delivery today and notice how much love and care is put into the residents activities. I saw the activity director she was dressed from head to toe in Mardi Gras attire doing a dance with each resident that she passed a mask too. I didn’t get her name but my family and I is looking for a place for my Granny two hours away. I will be telling them this is worth the drive.

The food is excellent! Made from scratch, served hot, no wait, tastes great! And I can’t say enough about the courteous staff. They are always smiling. I can’t say enough about the staff in all departments regarding their friendliness, willingness to help, and professionalism. And clean!!! I am a physical therapist who has worked in assisted living facilities for 25 years, including luxury, and they can’t hold a candle to SAP. Not even close.

The people at St. Augustine Plantation take really good care of my mom and mother-in-law. They are patient, kind, and respectful to the residents. They always speak to my mom, hold her hand, give her a hug, and get her where she needs to be. And I can tell that my mom enjoys and appreciates the attention. I cannot single out just one person, as to me, they are all wonderful. So I am putting all of their names down that I know, in alphabetical order - please forgive me if any are misspelled or if I have forgotten someone: Bree, Chef, Elizabeth, Jared, Katie(?), Kelce, Kree, Lulu, Megan, Mikayla, Mimi, Nicole, Niqua, Octavia, Preesha, Shayla, Sylvester, Tamarian, T, Tammie, Teka, Tniyah, Sylvester, Sunshine, Tyler, Weeka.

SAP is a good fit for my loved one. They care about making her as happy, safe and content as they possibly can. For the range of personalities and medical needs, they do an amazing job. The place is kept clean and does not smell like other places I have been in. Having her room and clothes cleaned weekly are over and beyond. Making sure she is taking her medications daily is a relief to me.

There are many reasons I am grateful for the care my mother receives at St. Augustine. The staff members all know Mom’s name and speak kindly to her in passing. I see their sincerity absorbed and reflected in my mother’s sweet face. Staff are in and out of Mom’s room, reminding her of meals and activities. Fun events are held. Mom’s room is consistently cleaned, and her laundry is done with care and excellence (I monitor these closely). The meals are nutritional and with plenty of options. Management is readily available. The in-house doctor calls me regularly to discuss Mom’s health concerns and my mother’s health has improved under Dr. Suchak’s care.

I can't say enough good things about St. Augustine Plantation! My precious mom has been a resident there since March of this year (2025). Megan, the Executive Director, is outstanding and very quick to respond to our needs. She sets the tone for a caring, responsive community. The caregivers, nurses, front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, laundry, meal service and other staff are kind, attentive and respectful. They have a care plan for my mom and actually follow it! In addition, they provide lots of opportunities for fun and enrichment. St. Augustine Plantation has my eternal gratitude!

My mom has been at St. Augustine Plantation for 6 months, but it feels like she's been there for years. SAP is one big loving family from Megan, the director to Teka, the activities director, to Chef Derrek, to all of the care staff all the way to the residents. She has a beautiful room, an extensive menu to choose from for each meal and a daily itinerary of activities (Sittersize and Bingo being her favorites). The residents have made her feel welcome and already has many friends. I am so glad she chose St. Augustine Plantation for her living and care needs.

I just want to publicly thank Megan, the Executive Director, for all the timely updates she shares with residents' family members, both during challenging times (like pending hurricanes!) and in general. My sister and I are so pleased with our decision to trust our mom's care to the staff at St. Augustine Plantation. It takes an entire team to make things go smoothly on "normal" days and, as importantly, to deal with unexpected and unwanted events that occur. We are very appreciative of each department and every individual who work together daily to provide a terrific experience for our mom and for us. We rest easier at night, knowing how well she's cared for. As my mom says to anyone out there who will listen, "You're very good at your job!"

Where does one start to thank you for the care that you gave Roy? There is truly nothing that we could possibly say or do that would equal what you did for him. The decision to move him from our home to yours was hard on our family. You realized this and made the transition for not only Roy, but our family, very easy. The moment we walked in with him, you took him under your wing and cared for him as if he were your own father. As a result, he settled into Saint Augustine Plantation life far easier than we ever could have ever hoped for. I want you to know that we never had a single moment where we thought he was not being cared for properly. You have an exceptional team of people that really care about the loved ones that family members have put in your care. During the time that Roy was there, I saw your team give the same caring and loving treatment to all of your residents. We were always informed of any concerns that you may have had, and you worked with the family to address these. Routinely, your team went above and beyond for Roy, depending on his needs at the time. When he wouldn’t eat, the chef would make him a special dinner that would entice him to eat. You quickly learned that he wanted two glasses of water and tea, with extra ice. His room was always spotless! His clothes were always clean and kept him clean as well. You anticipated his needs and kept him happy and comfortable. All of the caregivers are amazing people who have been given a special gift to care for those who can no longer care for themselves. You are strong and loving at the same time. I pray that each of you are blessed by your gift and know that you are appreciated. Sincerely, Family of Roy Starke

St Augustine Plantation has been wonderful as my mom moved from Assisted Living to Memory Care a few months ago. The director Emily has gone above and beyond in helping mom through Feb covid and several new challenges. She really cares about mom and everyone. She spoils her and us too by sending us photos and even FaceTime with mom! She plans many fun activities for them as well. We got daily updates from the staff during the recent covid also, very reassuring. Asya is very helpful, experienced, and caring and Tammy also spoils mom and loves her. Med tech Jay and also Emma and Lorenzo are so helpful. I can’t name everyone in this review, but the team has helped us adapt and learn how to respond to mom when new challenges occur. We feel comfortable knowing she is in caring hands.

Almost a year ago, I did the most difficult thing of my life in placing my mom, my best friend, in someone else’s care. It had come to the point that I could not assure her safety without help and took the steps to explore my options. The Team at St. Augustine Plantation Memory Care helped me at every step of the way. During my several conversations with Nicole Jermyn and while doing my tour I was introduced to Dominique Stafford who I did not know at the time would be my savior during this process. From the day that I brought my mom in to leave her at memory care without her knowledge of what was going on, Dominique was there. She took mom for a tour and I had to make a decision. It was suggested that I leave without trying to explain or reason with my mom as this would be easier on her. I could not fathom just leaving her but agreed that it may be less traumatic for her. I on the other hand, instead of being relieved was traumatized. Dominique, Megan Griffin and Nicole all reached out to me during the 7 days that I did not visit with updates and even texted photos to show that mom was ok. Maybe not happy and a bit confused but ok and safe nevertheless. During the last year, many things have changed for mom and I and her disease has progressed. I have met many wonderful people who have been there for me and for mom. I cannot imagine how hard it must be to care for someone else’s loved one and try to do it as they were your own family but I feel that most everyone I have come in contact attempts to do just that. I have texted and called Dominique more than my share of times for updates, assistance and just to check on mom and have never been met with anything but care and compassion. She has gone above and beyond several times for myself and for mom to try and make this impossible situation less difficult and it has certainly made a difference. I think of her as my friend now. I can sleep at night knowing that mom is not only safe but cared for. I am in a local Alzheimers support group and have heard horror stories of poor treatment or no responses to concerns and I have luckily not experienced this. Dominique does not do it on her own but she is my trusted go to. I have met several special people who I would like to mention by name. BJ, Tammy, MJ, Robin, Erica, Krista, Kenya, Tye, Reisha, Jai and several others that I am sorry I cannot remember names for at this time. I am fully aware that this is a field that has incredible rates of turnover but most of these people have stuck it out and I want to acknowledge them. Without Dominique and the SAP Team, I don’t think I could have survived this last year and am eternally grateful and pray every night that those who care for my mom are blessed. I have asked on several occasions for Dominque to promise she will not leave me or mom. This Team in my opinion are so worthy and deserving of acknowledgement if not through raises, at least a wonderful break-room makeover. If any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Terry Hall with loved one Helen Hall in the facility.

I am currently a resident of this beautiful, caring, clean, comfortable facility. I am here because I needed a safe environment to heal from a fracture. My fracture required no weight bearing for ten weeks. I would not be safe at home while recovering from my injury. The facility has provided excellent care in a nurturing, safe environment with plenty of opportunities for social interaction, meal and laundry services, TV and internet access. I find the staff compassionate and attentive to each resident's specific needs. The residents represent a variety of backgrounds, functional level and involvement in activities. I experienced how they handled two specific critical situations. One day the weather alarms of several residents warned of a tornado warning. The residents were instructed to move to the hallways away from windows. The staff including senior staff and adminitrator came around making sure everyone was accounted for and reassure them they were safe. The second situation involved a resident who owns a dog. The resident was admitted to the hospital. Staff members took care of the pet until the resident came back. I am glad to be able to go home tomorrow to complete my rehabilitation now that I can bear weight on my fractured leg. I have recommended the facility to a friend whose mom will soon need this level of care. I will return when the time comes for me to require these services. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for turning a very difficult situation into an adventure into the future.

Megan (facilities manager), Crystal (DON), Muriel (ADON), Samantha (RN) and Derrick (Chef Walker, Director of Culinary) were so good to my mother. They all had small touches that made my mom's stay wonderful. When I was out of town, they took special care sending me photos to assure me she was okay. My mother-in-law has been at St. Augustine Plantation for a little over 5 years. I have seen how pleased my wife is with the care given to her mother. All of the staff at SAP is extraordinary, especially during these difficult times dealing with the pandemic, but she has highlighted these special persons for recognition: Kelsey Saunders, who handles transportation for medial appointments and so much more. His kindness in dealing with persons with cognitive problems is so touching; Crystal Brown, the head nurse of the wonderful nursing staff, always available to deal with whatever needs to be dealt with; Tamarion Lindsey, a medical technician, who stays on top of all prescriptions; and Samantha Campbell, on the nursing staff, whose gentle compassion is always appreciated. By naming these four, so many others are being left out, but please know we appreciate all of your efforts.

Maria and the custodial staff need to be recognized as well. I highly recommend SAP for their assisted living facility. Oh, and Thursday Omelette Breakfast can't be beat. I last wrote a review of St. Augustine Plantation two years ago, when my mother had been there only two months. The review was positive and I'm happy to say that we are still positive about her living there. While there is high turnover in the caregiver staff, I think that's true in most ALFs. The caregivers are helpful and friendly and try to make the resident and family members happy. It's so comforting to have nursing staff there 24/7. I want to give special recognition to two nurses, Asya and Will, who have been there since my mother arrived in May 2015. Their compassion for and care of the residents is extraordinary. The administrative staff also work hard to meet the expectations of each family whose loved one resides at SAP. I know that this was the right choice for our family.

Our mom has been living at St. Augustine Plantation since October 2016. We are very pleased with the care she received her first few months in ALF and more recently in Memory Care. The entire staff is attentive and caring towards mom and our entire family which makes our visits quite pleasant.
