My mother is a resident at Westminster Palms. She started in Independent Living and this summer she moved to Assisted Living. Most recently, she was evacuated by the Assisted Living staff because of hurricane Ian. The staff and administration of Westminster Palms has always been fantastic, kind, caring, effective and professional. It was an incredible relief for me to know that my mother was both safe and cared with kindness during Ian, when I was many hundreds of miles away. Thank you everyone at Westminster.

If I could leave a zero review I would. Not only did they double bill me while my father was on hospice care, but they charged 500 gloves two days before he died. I could say way more, but I will refrain. This place just ignored my father because he didn't ask for anything. He had Alzheimers and they just left him in the bed. I asked them to take him out on the $2,500 wheelchair I bought on their recommendation. They refused saying he sleeps all the time. All the other people there were also sleeping. Sitting in his excrement, for hours and days, he finally died from bed soars.

I have had a wonderful experience volunteering with the residents at Westminster Palms. Here I have been able to have many enriching experiences, and had the opportunity to form close relationships and connect with the people around me. Anne Osborne was extremely helpful, allowing me to create these experiences and connections. Truly a wonderful place.

My wife Doreen and I came to Westminster Palms in late September of last year. Through the Covid pandemic certainly put a damper on our opportunities to form new friendships and to utilize fully the facilities here at the campus, we have been blessed to meet some pretty special people. The person I would like to recognize and thank is Jill Embree. She discovered pretty early on that my wife Doreen has an atypical form of Parkinson’s disease and she has offered to help with both physical therapy and cognitive help. She carved out time for two sessions a week. Her help has been extremely valuable my wife particularly in helping us find ways to avoid accidents and sharped her thinking. She is a bright, cheerful, encouraging person to be with - Doreen looks forward to each session with Jill. She feels like family, always checking in to see how things are going - being sure she gets any help she might need or want. Jill also knows what it is like to be a care giver and is very helpful to me - being sure to keep me in tune with what she is trying to accomplish and how I can support her efforts. We think she is a real beauty and we are all lucky to have her here at Westminster Palms.

I am retired and living the good life at Westminster Palms in St Petersburg, Fl, amid all the excitement of an entertaining and energizing environment inside and outside a beautiful two-block campus. The Tampa Bay location includes a view of the bay and easy access to stimulating activities that include Museums: The Dali, James Museum of Western Art, St. Petersburg Museum of History, Florida Holocaust Museum. Museum of Fine Arts. Sixteen “Arts” attractions in all. Cross the street and enjoy Westminster’s proximity to North Shore Park, home of the St Petersburg Aquatic Center, where free passes are available for those who want to take a dip or regularly enjoy a water workout in the Olympic size swimming pool. Spacious North Shore Park is home to the World Renown Kids and Kubs Softball Club with age-appropriate softball for seniors 74 and over. If the outside is not entertaining and exhausting enough for your energy level, the is a full complement of activities inside the well-maintained and cared-for campus buildings. Included are: Programs of physical exercise facilitated by two workout areas staffed by personnel who will keep you in shape despite the delicious offerings of the dining service at Westminster.

My FIL has been in the assisted living portion of this facility, and we couldn't be happier about the care and attention he receives there daily. The staff know each individual and work really hard to maintain consistency, lovingly, for them. There are activities for residents to be involved in, for all levels and abilities. Pastor Steven also makes himself available to all residents. The weekly Bible study meetings are inviting and engaging. The location of course is wonderful. We feel comforted and supported by the care being provided to our loved one. Can't recommend highly enough!

Our community really does try to maximize not just physical wellness, but mental, spiritual, nutritional and much more. I made the decision to move to Westminster Palms almost six years ago and have found that it was one of my best decisions ever. After living in our home for almost thirty years my husband became ill and eventually was a total bed patient. After time I became isolated from friends and activities that I was used to. Friends who had already moved here suggested that I could get more help with my husband and would be able to join the many social activities they had for residents. Living here at Westminster has been a blessing for me. We have many activities going on here every day and enjoy going out with groups to concerts, museums, restaurants, parks, sports games, the horse track and anything special going on in the community. The best part is always having someone to go with you. After the virus, we have stayed close to home but the staff here has been so careful and caring, we have felt safe and well taken care of. Westminster Palms has the greatest location in downtown St. Petersburg with Tampa Bay across the street giving us water access and view. We are only blocks from the best restaurants, the new St. Petersburg Pier, Museum of Fine Arts, Dali Museum and Vinoy Hotel and Marina. I feel that here at Westminster Palms I have a lovely home and the staff and residents have become a caring family, easing all concerns of the future.

I have lived here for about 14 months and am totally pleased with Westminster Palms: the location near downtown restaurants, movies, concert hall, etc; the staff is very helpful and communicative; the current Covid epidemic has been managed very well here and they have kept us safe and always update us to what is going on ;the food is very good and the staff listens to our suggestions. I plan on living here for the rest of my life, which I hope will be many years!

As the owner of Medication Call Reminder, several years ago I met with an administrator of Westminster Palms Home Care agency about our service that helps people take the right medication, right dose at the right time. I mentioned I was looking for an independent living facility for a family member and I was referred to Westminster Palms. From the moment my sister and I met with Merrilyn Toerner, Sales Director, we were both impressed with the rooms, service and financial incentive for my sister as a retired teacher. Since that time, Ive observed how much my sister enjoys being at Westminster Palms and I am assured she is getting the best of care. I highly recommend Westminster Palms for anyone whos looking for independent living and as my sister would to live life like its golden.

Where do I begin??? My mom and dad began considering WP about 6 years ago. Sadly, my dad passed away 5 years ago and that left my mom wondering.... should I or shouldnt I? We moved down and my mom has lived with us for the past 3 years and this year she decided I SHOULD. (Apparently we are quite boring....!) I cannot begin to tell you what a wonderful experience this has been from start to finish. It all began with Jerry Bushey who CLEARLY is the most patient and kind man on the face of this earth. He never gave up on us and for the past 4 years has just kept us on his radar, alerting us to fabulous apartment openings and opportunities as they arose. At this juncture, my mom is moving in to the assisted living area of WP and again, the staff has been beyond exceptional. Merrilyn Fernandez, Brian Cain and Belinda Felgueiras have one goal - YOUR best interest.This place is fantastic and I cannot wait to watch my mom flourish in her new nurturing , stimulating , welcoming environment.

I so enjoy living at Westminster Palms! When I first visited here, I sensed a great feeling of community — and I was really missing that, living in a condo in my own neighborhood. When you live in a building like this, you really do find a lot of neighbors who are wonderful. Im almost the youngest person here, but maybe not the most youthful. But the people that Ive met here have had the most interesting lives. The stories that they can tell you are incredible! Everything is really right outside my door. I love the fact that we can go to cultural events here, and take what I call the limo. Living near downtown St. Petersburg, we get to enjoy a fantastic location, and the availability of cultural activities and facilities. The overall friendliness of this city is quite incredible, too. You can walk along the Bayfront down here and say good morning to everybody and they all respond. Best of all, I have this very attractive apartment that I just love, and I can take my dog out for a walk very easily. There are quite a few other residents with dogs, too. I feel like living here was really meant to be.

My mom lived in Westminster Palms for 27 years and I visited her often. The staff gave her the best care as she aged, so my husband and I knew this would be a place we could stay forever. I enjoy walking around our neighborhood and seeing the elegant houses, cottages and gardens. I often walk to the library, nearby post office and museum. My husband and I practice Tai Chi in the park and on the 13th floor balcony with the lovely view. My husband and I are art aficionados and enjoy the watercolor classes and musical events in the nearby parks. This is a nice town to explore and I love living here. We are privileged to live here and are eternally grateful!

A few years ago our granddaughters suggested that we look around at a retirement place. My wife and I had a big house in South Carolina, which came with a lot of maintenance and upkeep. After searching in Texas and California, we decided to look at Westminster Palms and we found that it offered everything we wanted. We like having this nice weather and not having to worry about maintenance. We dont have to do any cooking, which is great. The staff here is outstanding and very responsive, including the administration and folks in the dining room. We enjoy the bus trips to the hockey games, nice restaurants and parks, which allows us to enjoy the city without driving. I like to walk out and go fishing across the street at Tampa Bay all the time. Ive met many friends here and its a perfect place to stay. Its like Ive gone to heaven and I didnt have to die to do it!

I think this place is dynamite! I left California to follow my children to St. Petersburg and Westminster Palms was the only place I considered. The location is everything! Youre right on the beach and a few blocks away from downtown. I have a nice apartment on the 12th floor and Im five minutes away from my sons house. The cleaning is done very well at a regular basis and you wouldnt find any more accommodating people than those here. When I lived in my apartment in California, I felt so isolated because my neighbors were either too young or not friendly. Getting the call to move out here saved my sanity. I met so many friends on the elevator and we often go on social outings all over the Suncoast. They call me The Mayor here! Im on the activities committee and Ive thrown five big parties, started a poker club and help with the weekly Happy Hour. My relatives and kids think its a grand resort. The fitness center, top-floor lounges and bistro are very impressive. Theres a lot to do—sometimes too much! This is a great place for the rest of my days.

I moved here four years ago once my wife and I felt it was time to leave our house. We had a big house and big yard in Orlando and I just couldnt continue maintaining everything. We wanted a place close to museums, restaurants, and a Episcopal parish that has a daily Eucharist. We also wanted to be closer to our son, who now lives 30 minutes away from me on Davis Island. When my wife passed away I had a lot of support from my family and friends here at Westminster Palms when I needed them them the most. I have a lovely top floor residence overlooking Tampa Bay. My cats and I have a corner apartment with an east and south view of the water and I enjoy viewing the sail boats, cruise ships, and hang gliders on a daily basis. I have all the room I need with a large living room, dining room and spacious bedroom. I like to stay involved in the community and the outside community. I attend services at the Cathedral Church of Peter in St. Petersburg once a week and I work with the Westminster Palms chaplain facilitating group book discussions in the community for the residents. I can leave and travel the world without any worries. This is a wonderful way of life and it feels like home.

My mother was the Director of Palm Shores, before the name was changed to Westminster Palms. Since she was there I was able to meet many of the residents and employees - all extremely happy! My Mom had to resign due to her health and shortened life. Highly recommended!

I have been employed by this outstanding organization for almost 6 years. Prior to joining the team at Westminster Palms, I worked at another retirement community. Hands down, the Palms is the place to be! The residents are such great people, full of life and wonderful backgrounds that they are more than willing to tell you about if you have time to listen. The staff that I work with are top notch, everyone strongly believes in the mission and we all strive for excellence everyday. We do it all for our residents! With the coming of the new year, my wife, Wynemia and I are starting our second year at Westminster Palms. We have enjoyed every minute of our time here. We have met many new friends from diverse backgrounds and life experiences. The staff members are wonderful, caring, friendly and helpful and that includes the administration, reception, maintenance, health services, food services, wait staff, exercise, entertainment, and transportation. Our dog OGrady has also made many canine and human friends. We had a beautiful waterfront home on the beach, but we both agree that there is no way that we would move back into the home again. We have swapped house manintance, pool care, and yard work for educational talks, exercise classes, book reading, local plays and concerts and walks in the park, good meals, and visits with new friends. We love this place.
