If I could give another star I would. John and the staff have been absolutely amazing. From facilitating the move of my 92 year old mother into the community, to making her feel at home in her new apartment and having an "Ambassador" to introduce my Mom to residents and explain all the activities - I couldn't expect anything more. Addington is lovely - clean and decorated beautifully.

Highly recommend Addington Place!!! Our father was widowed and transitioned from living in his own home to the independent living apartments and this was the best move ever for him! He was hesitant initially to move; however the transition was seamless. The entire staff at Addington including marketing, reception, maintenance, housekeeping and dining were amazing not only during the transition but through his entire time at the Addington. The staff are so friendly to all the residents and willing to help in all situations and became part of Dad’s family. He made friends quickly, enjoyed the meals in the dining room and not having to cook or clean. There are many social activities planned daily. Dad had a mobility impairment and was able to use a scooter to access the entire property. The facility is extremely clean and the areas outdoors are beautiful especially the benches overlooking the water. As his health began to decline, administration assisted us in a smooth transition to a 1 bedroom assisted living apartment and although he did not have the opportunity to reside in the assisted living space due to a rapid change in health condition, the staff on the assisted floor were amazing as well. During the transition, Dad required skilled nursing/rehab on the 2nd floor for approximately 5 weeks prior to his passing. They navigated an evacuation for the hurricane so well. Our only complaint on the skilled unit was inconsistent nursing staff and what seemed like a staff shortage which impacted our ability to get health information on his condition and less oversight. There were some great players on the skilled unit including social worker Anthony, the therapy team and our 2 favorite nursing assistants Prince and Angel. After our father passed away, we were overwhelmed by the love and support from everyone there. If you or your loved one is considering transition, the Addington is your place!!! 5 stars

My father loved living at Addington in Assisted Living. The staff was very interactive with him and so kind. He enjoyed the monthly Friends and Family nights. They were fun and he was able to meet other residents. I would definitely recommend Addington to anyone who needs a little extra help. As his daughter, I felt very welcomed to visit anytime and I knew he was safe and sound there.

I moved to Addington Place to be near my son and havent been disappointed. The grounds are beautiful and the waterway that runs along one side is home to many lovely birds. The facility is very clean and the grounds are well maintained. The staff are caring and the food selection is good. There are many activities offered during the non-pandemic times. I can hardly wait to enjoy the exercise classes again as well as group outings.

My Dad and his wife moved into the addington place at college harbor since they were starting to decline and they did not want to impose on the family to take care of them! They had moved from Sun City Florida where they were living independently. The staff and facility were just perfect! They allowed my Dad and his wife to remain independent and to keep their dignity though always keeping a watchful eye for the families. I have learned over my own career as an elder care attorney in New York that as people age society and family start treating our elders as kids. This makes the seniors feel like they are losing control. My Dad and his wife Rochella were very smart and loved learning . The facility offered so much from classes to games and transportation all at a reasonable cost. My dad recently passed away but the facility tried to keep him home until the very last minute when they moved him upstairs to the skilled nursing facility. His wife could just take an elevator to see him. Unfortunately due to covid his children could not see him in his last days. I want to give a special shout out to Bev and John who always kept the families informed and treated my dad and his wife like family. The best thing I can say that my Dad died with dignity. Thank you Addington Place at College Harbor in Saint Petersburg, Florida for everything you did for my father and his wife.

My father has been a resident here for two years, recently after a hospital stay it became necessary to move him to the assisted living phase. The staff in both the independent and assisted sides of the organization were patient, understanding and did any amazing job helping the whole family through a stressful time. Change is hard and their patience and experience did wonders for my father during this transition. We were very lucky especially because we do not live nearby and they stepped in and up to help fill that void!

We recently moved both of my 90+ year old parents to Addington Place at College Harbor. And while this is one of the most stressful periods for the family, everyone has made the transition such a positive experience. From our initial meetings with John, who provided his undivided attention and expertise in meeting our needs, to Bev, who worked closely with us throughout the move process, we could not have been more satisfied. Since arriving at Addington both parents have needed assistance and medical attention which has all been handled professionally and expeditiously. Our sincere thanks go to their Nurse, Ashley, who has been an absolute angel working with the parents, keeping us informed, and providing first class care. We thank you all!! Please keep up the great work.

My mother was at Addington Place for over four years before she passed away. Many of the staff were caring and very good. I want to particularly single out John Leinbach, Asst. Director of Marketing, who was always there when I needed him, even when he was home on his days off. Thats dedication. My Mom went through a lot of difficult times (e.g., aftermath of having a fire in her room) and I could always count on John to assist me through those trying moments. I wish him the best and recommend his superiors recognize his value relative to future advancement. Thank you, John, for your caring & professional assistance. Sincerely, Mark Gumula.

My Mom moved to Addingrton Pl. 7 years ago, she is now 91 and still in Independent Living. She has a great attitude. She loves it there. The staff has always been accommodating, polite, and professional, including during the virus lockdown. Im thankful to them for taking care of my Mother. The location is great, on the water with dolphins, fish, birds, and a constant boat parade. Access to downtown and the beaches is a breeze.. There were many activities my Mom took advantage of before the virus such as nice restaurants every Tuesday, Mahaffee Theatre , Dali Museum, shopping, and all transportation is free. She also loves exercise class and the pool, we used to swim with her, cant wait to do it again. The food is fine, I have eaten there many times. I loved the Omelet Stationmornings. Of course they have glitches, but they seem to work them out, and want to work them out. I would recommend Addington Place to anyone.

From the very first phone call with John Leinbach, to the move-in experience, to meeting Bev Starke, and experiencing an outstanding level of medical care provided by Ashely and the rest of the care team, we have been delighted. The staff seem determined to make each resident, and their families, as content and confident as they could possibly be. My mother-in-law moved from one of the spacious apartments to a smaller one - but not until Bev escorted her - more than once - to available rooms so that she could choose the one she liked best.We have been wanting this for Kay for years and are so very pleased and comforted to know that she has the care she needs from people who care.

My wife and I moved into Addington Place about a year ago. It has been a great place to live. Before Covid 19 we had our meals in their beautiful dinning room. Splendid service of a three course meals. Since the virus they deliver our meals to our front door. The staff is very helpful and supportive. There is always someone on duty at the front desk. If you have a package delivered they call and you pick it up at your convenience. Activities before the virus were plentiful for both men and women. However, recently the size of the group participating has been limit to 10. A small group (8 or 10) from the 5th floor meet in the 5th floor common room at 4 PM each day for a glass of wine and some conversation. Our apartment 501 has an balcony that overlooks a channel leading from Boca Ciega Bay to the Gulf of Mexico. The view is fantastic. We strongly recommend this as a safe and comfortable place to live.Jim and Anne Dally

Addington Place allows families to thrive. Our mother (voluntarily) moved to this community 5 years ago -- while I worried she would feel lonely, she felt immediately at home. She often tells us, We are a family here ! Last year my brother and his wife chose Addington Place as their retirement community to be near our mother - and because of the fun, family friendly events offered. Prior to and during the COVID quarantine the AP staff have been there to kindly, gently, and professionally guide the whole family in making informed and sensitive decisions in the best interest of all. Justin Mock, John Leinbach, Andreika Joseph, Vanesha in assisted living, the nursing, medical staff, Anthony in Skilled Nursing, Greta in Dining, and many, many others have made Addington Place at College Harbor a wonderful place for family. Thank you all!

I have been a resident of Addington Place (formerly Allegro) for about five years, first in assisted living and now in independent living and have been very pleased the entire time. I think the staff is very friendly, helpful and accommodating and good service is provided in all aspects. To me the building is very attractive both inside and out and several upgrades have been done during my time here. Its surrounded by lovely grounds and the intra-coastal waterway. Theres a library, a heated pool, a hot tub, shuffleboard courts and an in-house beauty salon in addition to three dining rooms, a great room, an assembly room, a gym and each floor has a common area. There are many scheduled activities so its easy to spend the entire day participating in a variety of them ranging from exercise classes to art classes to group discussions, Bingo, card games and on and on. Theres also in-house entertainment. During normal times, outings are offered for shopping, eating at restaurants, attending baseball games, horse racing, concerts, plays, museums and special events. While there are no outings, visitors or any resident comings and goings during the pandemic, the staff is making sure that our individual needs are met and that there are in-house activities for us to do. All the residents have been tested and the staff is tested bi-weekly for Covid-19. The residents do feel safe.

Ive been working with Addington Place for several years now. The community leadership is the best. Ashley & Justin run a great Assisted Living. John and Bev are so helpful getting people moved in. The building is well kept and the grounds are just beautiful. You cant beat the view. But the best of all is the people who live here. Just love the residents at Addington Place!

My parents chose to move to Addington because we had close friends who had lived there. They and their children were very pleased with their care and always spoke highly of the staff. After five months I can confirm their experience. John Leinbach and Ashley Acosta have both been especially helpful getting both of my parents settled in and attending to their various health needs. The staff is caring and the physical and occupation therapies are especially excellent. The menus are varied and meals are well prepared. We are especially grateful for the great care and concern they have taken for all residents during the recent trying times.

My parents moved into independent living at Addington Place at College Harbor 7 years ago at the ages of 94 & 90. Their transition was pretty smooth because the facility was pleasant and comfortable. My parents enjoyed the beautiful walks, views of the water and some occasional fishing. My Mom especially enjoyed the pool and activities. The staff has always made the place special as they are always pleasant and helpful. Andrieka has always been there for any situation and she has such a kind heart. Alise provided lots of activities from flower arranging to Christmas decorations. John has been there to work through transitions. During this COVID-19 situation, he moved my Mom from her independent living apartment into her assisted living apartment and with his team, they arranged her furniture and belongings beautifully. This was above and beyond, greatly appreciated. Greta and Brandi always worked to keep everyone happy with the meals, and I know that is a daunting task. I enjoyed having dinner there with my parents often. My Dad passed away a couple of years ago and everyone was caring and respectful. Just recently, my Mom passed away. The skilled nursing team cared for Mom after a hospital stay, making her recovery successful. The assisted living team led by Ashley and Buffy made Mom comfortable and cared for during her final month. It was difficult with the COVID-19 lock-down, but they made it work with kindness and caring. There are many others Im grateful for all they do for the residents. Im very thankful my parents choose Addington Place.

My Mom is in Independent Living, and she is very happy. She has made friends with staff and residents, and takes advantage of the activities Addington offers. The staff is caring and supportive, and they communicate well with families. Im grateful for the precautions theyve taken to keep the residents safe from COVID-19 so far and their willingness to communicate what they are doing. So glad my Mom has such a good place to live.

Planning for acute rehab, assisted living, and long-term care after a family member has experienced an unexpected decline in health is very stressful. Addington Place has helped my family navigate through the uncertainty with grace and love. I have been very impressed with my fathers care. Addingtons rehab department and staff are truly amazing, they always take time to update family members, even on unannounced visits. The administration, physicians, and staff really care about their patients and this makes me feel confident that I made the right decision by choosing Addington Place for my fathers care.
