If you are looking for a special place for Mom or Dad in the Sarasota area, I highly recommend looking into Grand Villa of Sarasota. This is a wonderful convenient downtown location, beautifully remodeled common areas and apartments, with pretty views of Hudson Bayou. The community is large enough to offer a wide array of services, but also small enough to be intimate and treats everyone like family. Deb S. is especially attentive, welcoming and has great attention to detail ~ she leaves no stone unturned to make sure the transition process is smooth for everyone.

I recently visited a friend’s mother at Grand Villa. What a delightful surprise ” a hidden gem in Sarasota. Amazing to be so close to downtown, with such lush tropical views. The staff were so professional and gracious showing me around. The units are modern, bright and airy. The residents I met were mostly long-time Sarasotans who seemed very happy to be there. I think my mother would love the downtown energy along with the beautiful setting. Can’t wait to bring her for a visit!

We had a wonderful experience visiting Grand Villa in Sarasota. The building is beautifully bright and impeccable clean, with a warm and inviting atmosphere. We especially loved the back porch and screened lanai area, which we could imagine spending a lot of time on if we were to live there. The residents we saw seemed busy and friendly and we even met a few very cute dogs sunning themselves outside! The location downtown makes it so convenient for us to get to church and all the spots we currently enjoy.

My friend in NYC asked me to check out the best Assisted Living Facility in downtown Sarasota, and Grand Villa gets 5 stars on every count: quality of accommodations, cordiality and availability of staff, excellence of maintenance, deliciousness of the meal I enjoyed there, variety of activities, impeccable cleanliness, comfortable layout and sunlight everywhere, 24-hour nursing presence. Not least, I was awed by the kindness and professionalism of Ms. Shannon van der Kooy and Ms Tammy Schieb. Shannon’s patience, smarts, her willingness to show and explain, and explain again, and Tammy’s executive understanding of how everything works and fits smoothly together, were what absolutely sold me. My friend and I are deeply grateful and his mother will be moving there shortly.

I recently toured Grand Villa of Sarasota and was truly impressed. The community is beautiful, welcoming, and very well maintained, with a friendly and attentive team. I especially loved seeing the caregivers actively engaged with residents in Memory Care. It was a huge plus to meet the Memory Care Director and see her engaged with the team and her residents. The Executive Director has been there for many years and was very attentive and friendly, which speaks volumes about the leadership and stability of the community. The outdoor lanai overlooking the bayou is peaceful and inviting. Tammy and Shannon, the Sales Directors, were knowledgeable, kind, and eager to provide helpful resources. I highly recommend Grand Villa of Sarasota! It’s a wonderful community all around!

I, and more importantly, my mother have had a VERY positive experience as she transitioned into living at Grand Villa. We worked directly with Tammy who could not have been kinder, more attentive or more professional. She gave my mother and my family a great sense of comfort. We visited Grand Villa multiple times before making the decision and on each visit every interaction with both staff and residents was positive. There seems to be a great culture at Grand Villa and I get the distinct impression they do a wonderful job choosing associates who appear to be kind and dedicated. Grand Villa has excellent activities on-site and their calendar is full with events each day. The facility is well-maintained and professionally run. My mother has made multiple comments about how the staff has pro-actively worked to ensure she felt welcome and that they were happy to have her as part of the community. The follow-up from Tammy both during and after the process has been excellent. A 5 star facility across staffed with 5-star people serving residents who all seem to be friendly as well.

My mom was in assisted living, at Grand Villa, and moved over to memory care a little over a year ago. I just want to commend the Care staff there. What they do is not an easy job, and people that don't care from the heart, don't belong in memory care. That is the way it should be, without exceptions. People with forms of dementia, don't have the ability to choose like other people have the right to. Therefore, their lives depend on those caregivers to give them the best care possible, because that is what they deserve. No less. There is such a great group of caregivers, that management has hand selected, that I am so appreciative of, at Grand Villa! On that note, hats off to the management staff, that trains and retrains whenever necessary. We are all human after all, and sometimes reminders are a good thing for all of us, especially with what they have to do, and how patient, and detail-oriented they must be. Finally, a standing ovation for Holly, who is the memory care activities director. Words cannot express what a Godsend she is, and what an amazing job she does, day in, and day out, giving them fun, innovative things to do, joy, and much-needed stimulation, outings, and amazing events, lunches offsite, sight-seeing bus rides, and special holiday events with family, and I could go on and on. She is someone you just need to see in action, because my words can't do her justice, on how heartfelt, and compassionate she is at her job. In addition, the maid service, always has everything clean and smelling fresh. It's comfortable, well-decorated, and inviting. Also, absolutely impressed with the new Chef that started almost a year ago. The meals are sometimes inspiring for me, they look so good! I am there every day, so I have seen a lot, and it is not easy for those that live there with their special needs, and those that work there. Things are a work in progress, and this management staff continues to strive to make it the best, without forgetting about what it's all about... the residents, and their families!

Mom has been living at GrandVilla for over a year now. She’s doing great. Staff is very friendly & helpful. Beautiful building. Mom has a nice 1 bedroom apt with full kitchen. Not that she’s doing any cooking. She eats all her meals in the dining room. If you need assisted living or memory care check this place out. You can even bring your pets.

My father loved his apartment at Grand Villa! The staff were always attentive and caring and made him feel like a valued member of their community. I work with a transport company who frequents the facility and every time we had picked up/dropped of clients, I have always have a positive experience. Everyone is professional, prompt, and caring for the individuals they take care of. It's honestly refreshing to be a part of their residents' lives and see that they are well taken care of. My mother lived in Grand Villa Memory Care until she passed away three years ago; now my brother has moved in to the Assisted Living building. It is a very lovely place to live in and is in a very good location. The buildings are both very nice and kept very clean and everyone is very nice and professional. Kurt Greenlow, the Senior Leasing Coordinator, was very helpful as well as being very professional. I would highly recommend this facility for those who need to be in Assisted Living, Memory Care or would just enjoy Independent Living.

When our Dad needed respite care recently, we turned to Grand Villa of Sarasota after having researched several ALF's in the area. From beginning to end, our experience could not have been more positive. Initially we dealt with Kurt and Diane Gerardi, the executive director. They were both extremely professional and helpful, up front with information, and went out of their way to accommodate our family's needs. Although Dad was only there for a short while, we couldn't have been more impressed with both the facility and staff. The building and grounds are immaculately maintained, and his apartment was comfortable and tastefully furnished, including an en suite bathroom and kitchenette with a full sized refrigerator and ample storage. Meals were offered in the dining room or served in room - Dad loved the food and the variety of offerings - there was always something that appealed to him. Several staff members went out of their way to assist Dad and were exceptionally kind, including Teri the floor nurse, Robin the activities director, Ashari at the front desk, med-tech Crystal and Shawn the dining room manager. We just can't recommend Grand Villa of Sarasota enough and wouldn't hesitate to use their services again.

We can't thank Grand Villa enough for welcoming our parents into their community. Several staff members came to introduce themselves throughout the day our parents moved in. We were all overwhelmed with kindness! It was a very gracious and important gesture, and it did make a difference. Kudos to the team. One important distinction at this facility is how often the staff will communicate with us when there are questions and feedback that are important for our parents' care. That is very reassuring. And another important facet for my parents: the food is good! Thank you to all the staff at Grand Villa!

GrandVilla went above and beyond to take care of my aunt and uncle. The staff showed an enormous amount of compassion, patience, respect, and genuine care during a time of physical and mental decline of my relatives. The staff pitched in to take care of their beloved dog when my aunt and uncle could no longer walk their dog. After my uncle died, the staff checked in every couple of hours or more frequently on my aunt, until she was transferred to memory care at GrandVilla. The Executive Director, Diane, helped to give me, their niece, the support I needed during a very difficult time. I cannot thank them enough for all they did for my aunt and uncle. I am so grateful. Clearly, all who work at GrandVilla truly care for the residents, and behave in a way that is professional, and with care and compassion.

My mom is a resident at Grand Villa of Sarasota. We are very happy with the care she receives from the staff. Everyone always greets us with a friendly smile and says hello. I am glad we chose this community !

Recently toured the facility with Kurt and Amy. I was thoroughly impressed with the facility itself, its resort-like grounds, stunning bedrooms, modern and inviting common areas both inside and out, but what really stood out was the level of care and service I observed from the staff, and especially from Amy and Kurt. My research is still in the early stages for my aging mother, but I can confidently say that Grand Villa currently sits at the top of my interest list.

My family and I are so fortunate to have found Grand Villa of Sarasota for our mom’s next stage of life. Kurt and Amy were extremely helpful in giving a tour and guiding us through the process of transitioning mom into Grand Villa. Both Kurt and Amy were professional, caring and knowledgeable having been in this industry for so long. They kept communication open and answered any questions or concerns we had with finding the right place to call home for mom. It has been one week since mom has moved in and we are thrilled with how mom has acclimated to her new home in memory care, The Villa, at Grand Villa. Anne, the director and all of her staff have gone above and beyond. In a short time the staff has done so much to get to know mom on a personal level in order to set goals to get mom to live her best life. I am fortunate enough to live close by where I can visit mom daily and sit in on activities run by Tony and Holly. They are energetic and are constantly engaging residents with games, crafts, pet therapy and so much more. I see my mom participating more each day. I am very impressed at the level of care and involvement by staff and cleanliness, which were some of our biggest priorities for mom. During my visits, I have had multiple conversations with several residents and they are happy to be at Grand Villa, which solidifies our decision. I recently toured Grand Villa looking for a residence for a close friend. Kurt Greenlow, the coordinator, was most friendly, professional and very patient & encouraging with my friend. The facility is beautifully decorated, the staff, took the time to speak with us as we toured. The model apartment we wished to see was beautiful and well appointed. It is my friend's plan to move to Grand Villa in the near future after preparations for the sale of her home.

My mom was a resident at Grand Villa Sarasota for over a year. The care she received was exemplary. The staff all knew here by name, her likes and dislikes and always made her feel special. Her nurse, David, was the absolute best and the Executive Director, Anne, was a key part of making the facility run smoothly by paying attention to every need. If you have a family member that requires more care than you can provide, I highly recommend Grand Villa Sarasota. It truly was my mom's comfortable home away from home. ~Alison B

Since Grand Villa has taken over this community they have and are continuing to make tremendous improvements. My Mom has been in Memory Care there for years and I really felt like no one cared about her until Dawn and her staff took over. Throughout this COVID epidemic they continually keep me informed and all the residents safe. I finally have peace of mind.
