I visited Brookdale two times once for possible placement for a relative and a second time with a friend for her possible placement. Each time we met with Wendy who took us around the facility showing us different rooms and introducing us to various residents either in their room or at an activity that was going on at the time. I can say I felt nothing but warmth and professionalism at Brookdale. They make it feel like home.

My mom has been at Brookdale PGI for a little over 2 months now. I can"t say enough wonderful things about this facility. My mom was reticent about Assisted Living, but she is so happy here. We looked at a few newer and larger places in the area. My mom chose Brookdale because of its smaller size, "family feel" and sense of community. And how right she was! The care is tremendous, the staff a great combo of professionalism and genuinely caring personalities. She finds it so easy to navigate to her meals and activities. I feel so reassured that she is receiving the best care. Thank you Brookdale for being a great place for my mom.

Brookdale Assisted Living, Punta Gorda Isles Review August 22, 2024 After being a widow for eight years, in October 2021 at the age of eighty-eight, my mother-in-law Emma Volk, moved into her newly redecorated home at Brookdale Assisted Living in Punta Gorda Isles, Florida. Once there, she soon became involved with daily activities such as morning exercise, crafts, themed monthly gatherings, and church service on Sunday. She was able to bring into the facility her two-tiered electric organ and enjoys playing for the residents. She was paired in the dining room with two ladies that were hard of hearing. My mother-in-law felt she was placed with these ladies to help them. Living at Brookdale has brought new life into her because now she has a purpose for living! Currently she is “91 years-young” and is helpful to the staff as she assists in giving visitors tours of the facility! As her family, we have peace of mind and feel extremely fortunate that she can live in such a wonderful facility that cares for her! We all know that she is being fed three healthy meals per day, her housekeeping needs are met, attends weekly hairdresser appointments, and that she can enjoy the company of all her new friends. The dedicated and professional staff are very kind and caring to my mother-in-law and she loves them all, too! Our family gives Brookdale Assisted Living of Punta Gorda Isles a high rating and greatly recommends it for your loved ones! Another reason my mother-in-law loves Brookdale is the size of the facility. Brookdale of Punta Gorda, Florida is a small Assisted Living facility located in Punta Gorda, Florida. They have only 43 units and they are in demand. The caregivers, nurses, maintenance, marketing folks, and administration are like family. Their turnover is slight as they all consider this Brookdale facility to be a great place to work. They treat all of the senior residents like family, offering cheerful assistance at every opportunity. They genuinely care and take pride in their reputation. My wife's mother is 95 years young and though it was a struggle getting her to give up her condo and move close to us a year ago, she now considers it to be a great move. She enjoys the staff and the other residents, and she is busy as ever with activities.

My mom had a series of medical issues that necessitated her move to an independent living facility followed by an assisted living facility. She originally moved to a larger and brand new facility after her medical issues. While the facility was brand new, we soon found that my mom was getting lost within the larger confines of the new facility. She was unhappy and generally uninvolved in the community, which was routinely devoid of people. As a result, we started looking at other options, leading us to the Brookdale. My mom loved the Brookdale from the first time she saw it with us, as did we! The minute we walked in, the difference was obvious. The staff and residents were visible, with residents occupying a number of the sitting and recreational spots at the facility. Step forward to today, my mom has met so many more people through the amazing and encouraging staff. She is happy there, and the attention she is getting is superb! We love this great small community!

My 87 yr old mother in law loves Brookdale! We looked at other places, but after touring Brookdale we decided it was perfect for her. She loves the small family feel of the facility. She also loves that it's one level and easy to navigate. The staff members are very helpful and gives her the one on one attention she needs. It's been a life saver for me and my husband. We've never been through this process before, but everyone was so helpful. The transition was very smooth. We would highly recommend Brookdale PGI!

My father was very resistant to the idea of assisted living. He reluctantly visited Brookdale Punta Gorda and was impressed by the staff's friendliness, the activity of the residents, the facility's great location and the impeccable condition! He signed that very day and has never been happier. The staff are genuine, caring, wonderful people. So many activities to join in, transport, great meals, in-house doctors… Everything you could hope for! We are so thankful to Brookdale!

My parents moved into Brookdale Punta Gorda Isles 3 months ago and we are so thankful we found this place! I loved it from the start because of the staff. They have been incredibly helpful and kind! We also like the neighborhood, and the building has a very comfortable home like feeling, I also really like the courtyard. All of the staff have been very friendly, caring and helpful and there is very much a family atmosphere here, much different from the larger facilities that we toured. In this smaller community everyone knows everyone, which is wonderful. My parents appointments and medications are now all arranged, such a relief when we live so far away. They are happy to still feel independent and yet very well cared for, and we are so happy that they are!! Our entire family is very thankful for the fine people at Brookdale Punta Gorda Isles!

My sister lived alone in Punta Gorda, FL and her family all live in Maine so when she became unable to care for herself she was put into a nursing/ assisted living place close to her home. I flew down to check it out and was not comfortable with the living situation so I went in search for another place for her. The real estate person who I found to sell her condo highly recommended Brookdale. I went to check it out and I was immediately blown away by how beautiful the place was and and how the entire staff was so welcoming and informative about Brookdale, they even fed me a couple of times when I was going through the process of getting my sister admitted and the food, in my opinion, was as good as it gets. I feel there is no way there could be a better place for my sister to be living and I feel that I have nothing to worry about with the family being able to visit with her I know all of and her care and needs are being taken care of than we could than we could do ourselves.

I am delighted to be a resident of Brookdsle PGI! It is everything the Sales Director, Wendy promised! The staff is excellent and the residents are extremely friendly and welcoming! The food is great and Chef Al goes out of his way to accommodate my special diet! The nurses are caring and professional. They make sure all your medical needs are met. I have enjoyed helping prepare the butterfly garden and organizing our upcoming talent show! This community gets an A+ in my book! Come visit and see for yourself!!

Brookdale Punta Gorda : My mother has been in 3 other facilities and none have come close to this amazing experience. The staff are So friendly and kind ; always available to help and genuinely care about the residents. Wendy, the sales manager is fabulous ! She helped us so much with facilitating my mom getting adjusted and introducing her to people. She also is very committed to making sure we are always in the loop of whats going on ; making contact with us and handling issues that arise. She is kind and supportive in every way. She makes herself available which is such a comfort! Jessica the Nurse is also wonderful. She worked closely w PT and OT to help my mom rehabilitate and kept us informed regularly. She is very professional and also easily accessible for any questions or concerns and handles things efficiently. The director, Scott is terrific too. He is very easy to reach and very dedicated to ensuring the residents and the family's well being . He is very kind and trustworthy . I am so impressed by the staff’s attitude of kindness and compassion, it is remarkable! The environment is lovely and the activity director is great. Mom has become a new person ; involved and social and very happy. She feels safe and truly cared for .., its like shes getting younger since she moved in. We are so grateful to everyone at Brookdale for making the last chapter of our moms life so wonderful. We highly recommend this place to everyone looking for a place for their loved one. I stopped by Brookdale PGI last November to donate some jigsaw puzzles; while handing over the donation, I asked if they needed volunteers. The team was extremely friendly and made me feel so welcome that I became a volunteer a week later. It is now the next summer and the residents have become so dear to me that I consider them my friends! If I do not get to visit them for a week or two, I truly miss them. They have so many diverse backgrounds and interests - we keep each other entertained by simply enjoying conversations or joining in on planned activities. I treasure my time at Brookdale and can honestly say the folks that work there truly care about these residents. It is a beautiful thing! If and when my mom needs to move to an assisted living facility, I can only hope we find her a place like Brookdale PGI!

We recently relocated my mom from a facility off of Kings Highway, to Brookdale Punta Gorda. I wish now that we had done this two years ago. My mom has gone from basically being a recluse at her last facility, with no interaction with the other residents, to being a social butterfly at Brookdale. She leaves her room for exercise every morning, partakes in the delicious provided meals, plays bingo several times a week and engages in the multiple daily scheduled activities. She meets in the garden with another resident several times a week for a glass of wine. The difference in my mom is night and day. The staff is very engaging and welcoming, and the residents are very friendly with an overall happy happy vibe. Would 100% recommend Brookdale!!

Brookdale Punta Gorda is a smaller assisted living community located in beautiful Punta Gorda Isles. Residents get more one on one attention and they seem more like family to each other. The staff is kind and caring and they go above and beyond to make the residents feel comfortable and happy. The staff also works well with home health agencies and hospice care to ensure their residents get the best care possible.

My mother has been at Brookdale PGI for 3 months and loves it. She has always been very independent and was very reluctant to go into any type of facility, but after a serious fall it was obvious she could not live by herself any longer. She quickly made friends with several residents and was thrilled by the attention she receives from all of the staff. We attended an event there yesterday where they invite the families to come in and meet with the staff and residents. It was wonderful to see 40+ residents sitting around eating (the food was delicious), laughing, and genuinely having a great time. Their chef Al came over to talk with my mom and her face lit up. I was afraid she would "give up" when she got to Brookdale, but she is in better spirits now than she has been for quite awhile.

This facility is in my opinion is fantastic. Each resident gets love and care in abundance. They focus on the individual. Each resident is treated with love and compassion and you can feel a great energy right when you walk in the door. My mother has been at Brookdale PGI for 2 months now. Aside from the inconveniences of coronavirus concerns, she has been comfortable here. It is a very small facility, so she gets more attention than she did at her previous ALF. The people who work here are kind and attentive. The food has been good. It is a cheerful environment. I would recommend it.

After leaving a 3 star review back in 2018, I have seen much improvement. They have improved the lighting at night and the roof has been completely replaced. It should be noted that the lighting at night was a problem after daylight savings began in the fall of 2018. My mother-in-law loves it there and the staff chips in everywhere to create a family atmosphere. They even brought out ice cream for my brother and I to share with my mother-in-law in the garden. The nursing staff is excellent and Jenny V. continues to go above and beyond.

My mother in law is housed at the Punta Gorda Brookdale and the staff are very nice. Jenny and Mary go above and beyond. She loves the food and is settled in. However, after being there just six months they raised the rent $260. The roof is in disrepair and looks like its ready to cave in over the carport. At night you cant see in the front parking lot. There are low voltage lights but they dont work. New director was told about it and has done nothing. Its a huge liability especially with the elderly population as they are prone to falling. New director is slow to respond to complaints but good at putting you on hold. Other issues involve getting things done in a timely fashion such as repairs. Cleaning crew is short handed and needs to be reminded and retrained. The facility shows well and there are activities along with a van for transportation. Residents have to hook up their own cable with Comcast.
