I absolutely love the 3 ladies that work back there but sometimes they are alone. There are days you have only one staff member in Magnolia Trail. They never complain and step up for what is needed. You have many in wheelchairs, just a lot from what I see. There use to be three staff members at all times with exception of breaks. A great group of young ladies! Kudos to them!

Came into visit today and the first thing I noticed was that one of the Emus hatched! There are still a few more eggs to hatch. The Orchestra from Seabeeeze High School came performed for the resident, they were excellent! This facility provides such great things for the residents!

Finding the right memory care for a loved one can be a challenging feat. But Benton House, now the Addison, stood out as one with compassionate care, supportive environment, and safe and clean ambience. And this was confirmed after we admitted my father with Dementia at the Addison after a lot of ups and downs with home care. The staff there is extremely caring and be rest assured that your loved one will be kept clean and comfortable any given day. Engaging activities, excellent communication, and the staff to resident ratio is what keeps it more manageable for the staff to care for the residents at the memory care center at Addison. It has not been that long since my dad has been admitted, but we are very happy with our experience so far. Only one thing I would recommend or feel more safe is when it comes to my dad’s safety. A safety band or some technology that triggers an alarm when a resident falls would be great to help the nurses have more sets of eyes. But all in all, I highly recommend this place for your loved one if you are considering.

The Addison of Port Orange has the most wonderful and caring staff. We were looking for a place for my father who is 96 and was recently living with us in New Smyrna Beach. Marilyn Belter who is the Community Relations Director greeted us with open arms the minute we arrived. She is extremely knowledgeable and has the utmost patience when it comes to answering all your questions. We had a lot! She made us feel like family while showing us the different apartments that were available as well as explaining all the activities their facility offers their residents. Each and every staff member was smiling and were genuinely engaged with the residents. The facility offers day visits for potential residents so my dad attended one of those and was then invited back for a happy hour and live music the following week. Marilyn made sure my father was seated with some residents he had met on our first visit and during the day visit as well. She went out of her way to make my dad feel comfortable that evening. The staff all doted on him like he was a rock star and we decided to do a 30 day trial. They had created a beautiful Veteran's wreath for his door and we were all set to go. At the very last minute my dad decided he wanted to be in an "independent living" setting so I needed to cancel our trial. I was mortified that I needed to cancel after everything Marilyn and her staff had already done for us. Marilyn couldn't have been more professional and compassionate reassuring me that things happen and people change their minds. She told me that she wished he could have stayed but HE needed to make that decision and figure out where he fit best. She offered to be there for us should we need her in the future. It was a wonderful feeling knowing someone like her would be there for us no matter what. If you're looking for a cozy assisted living or memory care facility this is the place to be. Marilyn will go above and beyond her job title to make your loved ones feel welcomed and cared for. Check them out for sure!

This is a great facility. They have wonderful employees who are friendly, kind, and caring. The facility is clean and comfortable. Communication with the director all the way to the medical staff is open and transparent. We are glad we chose to have our mother reside there. She enjoys her time there as well as being safe and comfortable.

My mother lived in 2 other assisted living facilities prior to moving her here. I can now sleep at night knowing she is getting the best care. She is only 1 of 45 residents which makes a huge difference in the personal touch that goes into everything they do. They know what she likes to drink, how she takes her coffee, how she doesn't like her bed made with the sheets tucked too tight, how she loves to talk about her days as a nurse & many other things you won't find at the bigger places. The director of nursing calls me with any concerns. I never worry about Mom anymore.

I have been volunteer here for a few weeks helping with the kittens feeding them. I really enjoy visiting with the residents, and the people that work here are the best caring people I have ever seen. The entertainment that receive is amazing. Where do I start? My wife spent the last 16 months of her life in Benton House’s memory unit. I can’t say enough about the care she received while she was there. First, the layout of their memory unit was perfect for their residents. There are no long hallways, lines of closed doors and confusing pathways. There is an atrium so the residents can go outdoors whenever they please, a nice dining room, and a living room in the center of the layout. The area is exceptionally clean, and the atmosphere is welcoming and cheerful. Next, there were tons of activities for those who wish to participate. Each month had a different theme which was expressed by many decorations. They offered bus rides, lunch outings, a weekly happy hour, and hosted frequent entertainers. The atmosphere is always bright and cheery. The food they served was healthy and varied. It was served with care. Lastly, but most important, is the caring and loving staff. There is a nurse on staff 16 hours a day and many qualified people working directly with the residents. They went above and beyond in the care of my wife. She liked to talk a lot, and many times I would find her sitting in the nurse’s station just talking away to the nurse while she was doing her paperwork. They were ALL very patient with the residents. I hope I didn’t miss anything in this long review. I give this facility 5 stars!

Benton House is a very place for everybody to come and stay and enjoy. They have great service a great community here and a volunteer for animals and they bring them here. They take care of them with the residence and resident love feeding them and taking care of the animals and they are, wonderful people here I recommend this place the loved ones to live here and be around the people that works here even with the other resident they get along great

After touring a number of highly recommended ALFs in the area, my mother chose the Benton House Port Orange because the cheerful and well-appointed atmosphere felt like visiting Grandma’s House. Mom adjusted very well thanks to the kindness of the residents and staff. The Benton House staff members help my mom with bathing, dressing, cleaning, laundry, reminding her about meals and activities, administering medications, monitoring her health, and ensuring her safety. To a person, the staff members are genuinely caring individuals whose top priority is my Mom's safety and happiness. We visit Mom several times a week and the staff keep us informed of any issues Mom is having. Mom is happy living at the the Benton House and we no longer have to worry about Mom living on her own. We are very pleased with her care. Update--February 2024: My mother recently passed away from dementia and a broken hip. During her stay at the Benton House--first in the ALF and later in memory care--she received excellent and compassionate assistance and care in every facet of daily life, from dressing, bathing, activities, meals, and healthcare. Over the 2+ years Mom lived at Benton House, we came to know and love the staff and administration as we visited her several times per week. To a person, the staff members at Benton House were wonderful to my mother and she would stop frequently during our walks to give staff members hugs and kisses. There are so many individual staff members I could single out, but I would rather just say that Benton House excellent employees in every department, including meal preparation, maintenance, nursing assistants, nurses, activities, and administration. What a well-run organization with wonderful human beings throughout! I will miss all of you!

We moved mom into Benton House from another local ALF that she has resided in for a couple of years simply because BH was located closer to our home. We also liked that the facility was fairly new and well cared for. Now, that mom has been a resident for over a year and a half, we learned that the most important thing is the facility staff. The BH staff, top to bottom, really works and cares for their residents. Many activities are planned for exercise, special events and music. The staff provides nice meals in a positive atmosphere. I have recommended the facility to others when the topic arises. They have two pianos, nice outdoor seating areas, and a covered entrance.

Love feeling Mom is safe and taken care of. Easier transition than I expected. Really like that the Benton house is one floor and smaller so you can get used to seeing familiar faces. While I live far away, I enjoy going back and seeing mom and taking her out when able. She has a wonderful larger room with a great view and enjoys all the activities and friendliness of the staff. Would like her to get help to walk outside more for exercise as she isn't much for exercise classes. Her diet that we requested could be followed more as excessive sugars (which she ate very little of before coming here and no carbs, except potatoes) kept her much more alert and healthier.

Benton House is truly a blessed place for my mother to stay at. The entire staff is like minded caregivers who do everything they can to make life there a joy. I have been in public service for the past 45 years in Volusia County and was fully impressed by their level of dedication and professionalism. The residents are all content and have ment activities to enjoy, and the rooms are first class all the way. And the food is excellent too. Thanks to them, I am confident my mother is well cared for every day.

Benton House has been such a blessing for Mom and our family. I moved Mom from another ALF to be closer to me. The difference in the individualized attention given to the residents and the responsiveness of staff to questions is an immense improvement to what we were used to. Mom had a recent health scare that was caught by the caring staff at Benton House and she had to spend 3 weeks out of the community. Staff reached out to me and rehab during this time and helped with her transition back into the community with the necessary modifications she needed. I feel comforted knowing Mom is in such good hands!

We took the Jeeps over to the house for the residents to come see them! The staff was excellent with the residents making sure they got out of the house. They all joked and had a good time together. The staff cares about their residents and the residents seems to care about their staff!

My mother did not want to leave her home, but had to have 24 hour care after an illness. Her first words when we were moving her in were "how do I get out of here". We told her if she improved to the point that she didn't need 24 hour care, we would give notice and she could go back o her house. As she improved, she found that she was starting to meet people, had good meals prepared and social functions were available. She found that she enjoyed the staff and having help available 24 hours a day. She feels safe and loved at this facility and we feel secure that she is being well taken care of.

I cannot say enough about Benton House in Port Orange! The staff are attentive and friendly. The food was great . They were wonderful in helping my momma ( who was very strong willed, independent and struggled with having to accept assistance) transition from independent living to assisted living. The staff managed the pandemic well and tried to make every day count. At the very end- Jennifer, Carolyn and really all of the staff checked on her ( and the family) constantly to ensure that we were all taken care of. My sister has been a resident almost from the beginning of Port Orange Benton House opening and I, ' Thank God', everyday, for helping me to find this place. My sister has moderate dementia but is able to live in her own room and be 'independent '. She is happy and well cared for and entertained. The management and staff are amazing. The Benton House in Port Orange is such a wonderful facility. My brother is in the memory care section, the staff is so caring and attentive. There are activities outside the memory care section that they are able to participate in. Benton House also has special theme parties, I just attended a super bowl party there, they had refreshments, games, prizes. It was so joyful to see how happy my brother is.

Have done a few Jeep events with Benton House of Port Orange. The residents and the staff are some of the best people I have ever met. Talking with the residents (who always want to talk) reminds us of times gone by. There is one certain gentleman who rides with me that served in WWII. Just to speak with him and hear his stories and see the twinkle in his eye as he shares experiences is a time that will never be forgotten. Love this place and the people who reside there.

As a frequent volunteer at Benton House of Port Orange, I highly recommend it as a place to volunteer your time. The staff is so welcoming and helpful and it is so uplifting to bring joy to the residents. There are events throughout the week that are both entertaining and informative and usually a large event once or twice a month, and it is a blessing to be able to participate and help out, rewarding for both the residents and the volunteer.

My dad is a resident here and I couldn’t be happier with our choice. Benton House’s philosophy is it’s the residents home and the employees are there to support them and give any needed assistance. The facility is brand new, clean and Beautifil. The employees are wonderful and treat the residents like family and the food is delicious! The nurses on site are wonderful and caring. The doctors that come weekly are extremely thorough and I have complete confidence that my dad is in good hands. The activities and entertainment are second to none! I have not seen the amount or caliber of live entertainment in any other facility. There’s always something to do, including a Happy Hour every week with live music. The Benton House Bus is always ready to go - whether it’s a shopping trip, doctors appointment, lunch, picnic at the beach, mystery rides, museums, the library and so many other adventures. Best assisted living residence in the area without a doubt! The social director has such a variety of activities and entertainment to enjoy that there is definitely something for everyone, even for the family members of the residents. The nurses and resident aides recently took such great care of my mom, that she was able to avoid a trip to the hospital as her needs were met at BH. My mom receives such great care and attention physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually that that she will likely live longer than she ever thought possible. We moved my mom to Memory care at The Benton House just after they opened a few months ago. My brother and my sister and I feel so Blessed to have found this amazing home for her. The staff is caring and friendly and we always feel welcome on our daily visits. The new chef prepares delicious meals and the activities director always has something fun going on for the Residents. I try to join my mom for Thurs. happy hour and music because it's so fun to see the joy that music brings my mom and so many others. From the first day at Open House, to deciding on which room to select, and to the actual day of moving: the Professional staff made the transition as easy as possible and the experience as though my Mother was just moving to a new home. The activity's director had her challenges getting my 95 year old Mother involved in daily activities, but she accomplished it in less than two days. I have only high praise for the staff and facility.

Benton House is really a special place. My mother-in-law lives in the memory care section. She enjoys all the activities and the staff really cares about them.
