My mom is in Starlight, the memory care wing here in Nocatee. The facility is beautiful. And, most importantly, the caregivers are compassionate and caring! They treat my mom with kindness and respect. It is such a relief to know, every day, that mom is safe and well taken care of. Lucy Dixon and her staff are angels.

My mother was one of the first residents at Starling in Jan 2019. She came from another independent living facility in St. Johns County, where she was not happy with management, meals and the living conditions. We looked at a number of different facilities in Duval and St. Johns counties, and it seemed all of them were tired, spent, and pretty expensive given the quality. Then we found Starling through some of their early marketing mailers passed along by a friend. We took a tour, and Mom was sold immediately. She moved to Starling within 30 days. From the day she moved to Starling, everything changed for the better...her attitude shifted to extremely positive. The Starling management and staff went above and beyond from day one. They made sure she was settled into another unit as her original unit was being outfitted safely and properly. The meals were outstanding (I've dined with her many times). Weekly housekeeping made sure her unit was always organized, clean and sanitized. The price was affordable, and rents were held stable throughout the pandemic. Their handling of the pandemic situation was remarkable, with very few cases of COVID. The few cases that were noted seemed to be quarantined quickly and managed properly, and management was in constant communication with residents and families. While we were unable to visit much during the pandemic quarantines, we believed Mom was in good hands, and Kerri and staff maintained constant communication. We moved our Mom three years later, in February 2022, to be closer to other family members. It was a positive experience the entire time for Mom and our family. When it came time to move, Kerri went above and beyond to make the move easier, and working closely with us to find replacement tenants quickly and easily. If you're looking for a newer, clean, excellent facility for a family member, you should consider The Starling at Nocatee. Hopefully it can be as positive an experience for your family as it was for ours.

My mom was among the first residents to move into the independent side of Starling. During my search to find a place for my mom (who was at the time in Atlanta) , Starling stood out as the best choice. The property beauty, location, and Kerri's passion in this space sold me. Yes, there were some post construction related issues, but in my opinion the staff handled those the best that they could. All staff exhibited empathy and bent over backwards to ensure my mom was comfortable and happy during any fix. I always felt the residents best interest was top of mind when communicating with anyone on property. I can't say enough about Kerri, Pam and Sheila as I had the most contact with them. They were amazing! There were others but names escape me...

This is a beautiful facility, but not well built. My family member lived there for 3 months and the building, including the kitchen had serious issues which at one point, closed the kitchen down. My family member was going to have to move out of his apartment because of a mold problem. Many ongoing structural issues. Aside from that, the people there were childish and snobbish . The director and staff encouraged and condoned the poor treatment of my relative. He was told not to ride the elevator by other residents and to use the stairs. He was shunned from the dining room and was persecuted the entire stay. After 30 days, I was informed that my family member needed to move as he didn't fit into the community. This was ridiculous and expensive to pay for another move. Poor facility management, no backbone , but just as condescending and snobbish as the residents. I rated this place 2 stars because the dining room menu and food was excellent and the facility grounds were nice. The location is close to grocery shopping and restaurants. Just know what you are getting into, very judgmental environment and the inmates run the prison.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience with Starling at Nocatee. We were looking for an independent living facility for my mother and Starling at Nocatee had every amenity you could ever ask for and more! The facility is so lovely that we wanted to move in ourselves. 🙂 The best part of the experience was our interaction with Kerri, who is an amazing sales associate. She answered every question we had, gave us plenty of information, and always kept us updated on the latest. Starling was our first stop in the search for an independent living facility and our search ended right there. We knew no other facility would compare.

My Mother, Marilyn Russell loves living at Starling at Nocatee. Everyone at Starling is wonderful. From the moment you enter the door you feel so welcomed. All the staff is great, from the drivers, nurses, dining room staff, the chefs, etc. are so great to deal with. The Director Megan Kennedy is great. She is so involved in the all resident's daily lives and concerns. Starling is awesome or my Mother would not be there. I could not be happier with the choice I made with my husband for Starling at Nocatee to be her home.

The place shows very well. However, the attention to detail is horrific. My mother has been there for 4 months and there are always problems. Not sure why the management team is struggling there. I have had the air conditioning go out for a few days in the middle of summer and it took a few days to get that situated. I pay to have someone help my mom get dressed. Never seems to happen. Today, the toilet is not working and it has been 4 hours since the first call. When you really need help, they are always in a meeting. I am thinking about moving her but it is a convenient location. I just wish they would hire people who really care and not just give you what you want to hear.

My mother was a resident in memory care at Starling for 9 months. She received wonderful care and was treated with respect and kindness. - The facility is beautiful clean and well run but the best part is the people who work there. They treated my mother like she was one of their own family members. - When my mother became ill, Starling provided exceptional service and was very supportive to our family in her final days. - I HIGHLY recommend Starling.

I have been with starling since December of 2017 . I love the facility Megan is the best executive director a person could ask for. Concerns or issues are resolved in a timely manner . Ms patty at the front desk ROCK she answers all of my questions even the ones I have about school projects .‚ thank you Megan for the opportunity working with the starling family .

My father moved into Starling at Nocatee (assisted living) in December 2017. He used to live in independent living, but at age 90, was more than ready for the next step. The 3 meals a day are so appreciated and the staff in the dining room take such great care of him making sure he eats properly. They always know what he wants to eat without even asking him (thank you Christian!) He really enjoys the morning work-out class and the brain games along with the afternoon entertainment, Sherida the engagement director really keeps the residents busy with activities. The nursing staff and assistants are doing such a great job with him and are available to help whenever he needs it. He also can receive physical therapy right at Starling and it really did help my father to become more steady and strong (thanks Sadie!). Megan and Kerri are so wonderful to work with. I am very satisfied and so happy to have my father living so close by. I highly recommend Starling at Nocatee.

My mother moved into Starling several months ago and she loves it! The staff has been great and the activities director is absolutely wonderful. We were shocked at how quickly she has integrated. She has made more friends and had more fun in the first few months than she had in the last 10 years of living alone. So far it has exceeded our expectations.

My parents moved into Starling February 15th. I never expected them to make the transition so easily! The staff members are exceptional. When visiting Starling one of the first things to notice is how happy the residents are. I think that's what sold my parents on their first visit. They've meeting lovely people and are having their needs met to the fullest . They say the way to a man's heart is through his stomach... Well my father loves the food! The chef is excellent and the wait staff couldn't be nicer! We didn't know what to expect, my parents came from their private home.. they are not just happy they are thrilled! Starling at Nocatee has been wonderful for my Mother. Kerri, Patti and the entire staff have been extremely welcoming to Mom. This was my Mom's first move to an assisted living facility and she is really enjoying all of the activities, support, food and staff. I would highly recommend Starling to anyone.

My mother has been a memory care resident since the day Starling opened in December. I had been working with Kerri and Megan for many months prior to move-in, and I continue to appreciate their availability to speak with me at anytime about any concerns I have, and their very quick resolution of those concerns - which have been few. This is a great home for my mom. My family visits frequently, so we see, first-hand, the work that goes into memory care. Since memory care is a restricted access area, most don't see "behind the curtain," but I appreciate 2 things most of all: 1 - the personalized care from the CNAs. They really know the residents, and work hard to meet their varying needs. 2 - the extraordinary range of activities and support from the Memory Care Coordinator, Pam. From animal (pet)therapy, to short field trips, to beach ball activities, musical engagements....and even today, she sent a reminder of an activity in the main area so families can join their loved ones for the event. I discovered that she negotiated with a local grocery store to donate "leftover" fresh flowers that the residents use to create table settings for the dining room. They celebrate birthdays and other annual events (recently, Valentine's Day and Mardi Gras), and really make each resident feel special. Pam and the CNAs are absolutely wonderful. I had much angst about placing my mother in memory care, but I know she is receiving compassionate and thorough care.

My mother moved into Starling from Ocala in December 2017 and my family could not be happier with the community and the way Mom has adjusted. Mom loves the chair exercise class, yoga and her regular bridge game not to mention the food! The entire staff is wonderful; they are very responsive and always friendly to both residents and families. Thank you to all the Starling Staff who make a positive difference in the lives of your residents!

My mom moved into Starling at Nocatee in January. The staff and facilities are great! The residents are great! The food is a different story. It is sub-par at best. She says the quality, selection and variety offered is poor and she (and others) have let them know. The one time I ate there the food was just ok. She likes living there and enjoys the people and staff but unfortunately she is considering moving because of the food. The food is not at the same level as the rest of the amenities at this place.
