My father moved into HarborChase assisted living in Palm Beach Gardens in November ‘22. All the people at Harbor Chase are so warm and welcoming! They made him feel at home from before the first day! My father chose this facility himself and when he spoke to Tammy Gardner, she went above and beyond to answer all his questions and to help facilitate his move. She helped furnish his room since he wasn’t able to do it ahead of time, due to his circumstances. Everything she did exceeded my expectations. She is such a kind person. I could tell that this is more than just a job to her, she really cares. Thanks to her and to this marvelous facility, he had everything he needed and more on his move-in day! The Director of Resident Care, Susan Jenkins, along with nurse Dahlia have been on top of my dad’s health and medications from day one. They are quick to get in touch with his family if there are any questions or changes. I feel confident that he is in good hands. Donald French is another staff member who has helped my dad immensely. Besides hanging his T.V., he has helped him with any and all maintenance needs. My dad has told me how grateful he is for Donald’s help. I had worried that my dad might be lonely but the exact opposite happened. Since he has been at HarborChase, he has attended game-time multiple times a week, met tons of new friends, went to entertainment events, happy hours and movies right at the facility, which is well maintained and cheerful. Oh, and my wheelchair-bound father attends exercise classes multiple times a week as well! This is in addition to his physical therapy and I think it has given him new strength and confidence. The most important thing to me, besides my dad being safe and well cared for, is his happiness and he is very happy at HarborChase. He told me how much he likes living in the community and proudly said, “I chose well”. That says it all. Thank you, HarborChase!

My mother was in Memory Care for 2 years and 4 months. At first, it was difficult because Covid hit and she was medicated to the point I thought she was gone but they started to ween her off the meds and I found my mom again. Although she suffered from loss of memory she remembered me, most important part. Yes, at times I thought her room could've been cleaned better and they would make sure it was after, and there were other small issues, but did mom suffer from them? No, just me. I don't think that any of these type of places is going to be perfect. I think as the caretakers of our loved ones we want it be perfectly clean, no odors, bathed everyday, ...the truth is the only way to get perfection (maybe) is have them in your home with a 24 hour Nurse. That wasn't going to work for me...this was the best place for her...she seemed happy, and always had a full meal which she loved.

My brother was in memory care for three weeks before I moved him to another facility, and he received very poor care. I live in Virginia and he is in Florida which means I needed to be able to trust the people at his facility to care for him. Management did not communicate with me when my brother left the memory care unit on his own and was escorted back inside by the police. None of the staff in memory care saw or reported this incident. The manager lied and said he didn't know about it when I asked if he was aware that this happened after I was told about it by my brother's 24/7 aide. He in fact was told about the situation by the dishwasher in the kitchen hours before I called to ask him about it. When I went to get my brother to move him to another facility, he was dirty, dehydrated, had severely dry skin and chapped lips and lived in a dark and dirty room. His blanket was urine stained and his pillowcase had blood on it. I found his glasses under the bed and his cell phone was at the front desk. DO NOT leave your loved one in memory care at Harbor Chase.
