Not really sure who wrote the previous review but here is mine! Stating resident abuse is a stretch! As a former nurse there, it was one of the easier places I've worked. Management and I mean Kelly was laid back and approachable, never met Marna. Staff IS pretty messy and full of drama but that's a character issue not a resident care issue. I've witnessed some really wonderful patient care and compassion for the residents. I've also witnessed some employees who should not be in the healthcare field who were not so great. But let's be honest that's everywhere you go. Overall I would trust my loved ones being there because most of them really do care. As far as the previous poster commenting on "pot" well they definitely gotta be over 60 lol because weed is legal and the world has to get over that eventually. My short time there I met some good caregivers and thanks for all you all do for the residents. Nursing is not an easy job. If it wasn't for the drama I would still be there, your loved ones are safe there....they just gotta listen to the "Days of our lives" episodes. Lol peace and love Sherrome, LPN

The new management team here at Mission Oaks truly cares about our residents and staff. There have been many improvements made, with more to come. I genuinely appreciate the focus on Memory Care, as that is an often-overlooked area in many ALFs. Our residents are a priority, not an after-thought.

I can't say enough about the staff. We were crunched for time and Carrie and Bernie went above and beyond to see that my parents had everything done on time. Any questions we had, they answered immediately. There were no hidden cost. What they quoted is exactly what we paid. My parents have been there approximately two weeks and absolutely love it. Thanks again for seeing that my parents transition into assisted living went so well.

Mission Oaks Memory Care was the second facility we had my father-in-law in. Finding this facility was an amazing relief. It was everything the other home was not. SO caring, and dad was truly cared for until the end of hs life three weeks ago. They worked so well with hospice in the end, and we can't say enough. It was top notch in every way. Nothing was left undone. They were always engaged with the residents. And kind and caring...They treat staff well and have very little turn over. Amazing place!!

Been awhile since my last review and again we have been impacted by the covid variant. This time it hit residents and staff. We've had to eat all meals for past 3 weeks in our rooms. Hopefully we will return to dining room tomorrow with 2 sittings to allow for social distancing. Many activities have resumed with fewer participants. There are still staffing problems and turnover continues. Several changes promised in past few years are still not completed. The original resident pendant system has not been replaced. This much needed system promised years ago was to have some important new features, it still has not been installed. In a review posted 3 years ago by Robert Mead he mentions the choices in dining and the always available menu. He might consider visiting this ALF and make note of the changes especially the elimination of some very popular items that are no longer available.

We moved our 100 yr old Mother from Minnesota to Mission oaks last fall..I checked out several places before choosing Mission Oaks..it was certainly the right decision. We along with my Mother were treated with compassion and respect... We were allowed to visit with all the precautions due to covid...which was prohibited in Minnesota...she had lost 30 lbs while in isolation in the memory facility there.. My Mother passed away in Nov. .but I am so happy she spent her last days with love and the caring staff at Mission Oaks..

I am a former employee (CNA/Med Tech), I am now a Physical Therapist Assistant working toward a Medical Doctorate. I can without a doubt say that Mission Oaks is one of the best ALF and Memory care facilities in the area. There is so much love given between the patients and the staff. It feels legitimately like a huge family. I sincerely thank them for every opportunity given, and as a medical professional I highly recommend Mission Oaks!

My mother in law was in this facility until she turned 95 and passed away. Her care there was above and beyond. During her process of passing, they were so caring to us. We can't "thank you" enough and greatly appreciated them.

This facility has the best food. Some ALFs have a choice of 2 or 3 meals and consider that restaurant dining. This facility has 40-50 meals to pick from. They are also the most affordable for day respite. The facility had a perfect bill of health from the annual survey from the Agency for Health Care Administration - 2018. I would recommend this facility - but do not take my word for it speak to the family members that have family there.

Writing a worthwhile review of an assisted living facility is almost as difficult as finding an assisted living facility that is suited to what you need. Simply put, Mission Oaks did a fine job taking care of my mother for 8 months. The facility was clean and well maintained. Meal choices were plentiful. The dining room was just like a restaurant. The CNAs really tried hard to take care of my mother even when she was not having one of her better days. I really liked the fact that there was certified nursing staff on duty 24/7. That was a key factor in being able to relax when I left the facility after a visit. Another big plus was that I had access to any of the staff that I needed to speak with or get information from. The Mission Oaks staff was part of the team that was taking care of my mother and we all worked together. My mother passed in August. Because of the efforts of the Mission Oaks team and the super care of the Cornerstone Hospice team, my mother was comfortable and well cared for right up until her last moments. I also have to mention here that Lisa Honka of Your Key to Senior Living Options was able to help us find Mission Oaks in a relatively short period of time due to her knowledge and experience. Mission Oaks had the trained staff and certifications to provide my mother the care she needed when she entered the facility and the care she may have needed in the future. Mission Oaks is worthy of your consideration.//

S.C. In rebuttal to the review by K.C. I have found staff of all colors in this facility. Everyone is extremely kind and attentive. Everything is very clean, and our particular resident is very pleased with the attention she receives. I think K.C. has a bad attitude for personal reasons.

On Aug. 16, 2013 I had the honor to meet with Dori Beard the Executive Director at Mission Oaks Assisted Living and Memory Care. I was impressed with her passion to provide a home atmosphere for the residents. She has developed the staff to have that same passion for what they do. I would recommend everyone that needs this type of care for their family to call Dori for a personal tour. I was especially impressed while she was giving me a tour, she stopped to provide care for one of the residents is distress. She spoke to the resident in a very caring and reassuring tone. I could tell she loves those for whom she cares for. Russ Critendon Banks/Page-Theus Funeral Home Wildwood, FL
