I had been taking care of my grandmother for a month when she had her fall. After a successful hip surgery, the rehab became a real problem and she struggled to better. I noticed I wasn't as helpful to her as I seemed to be in the past so I consulted with my siblings about whether we could get her dedicated care and keep her in her home. After lots of searching and meetings we found FirstLight in Palm Beach. They send a CNA three times a week right now to help my grandma get better. The service is professional and I know she enjoys her time with them. It was a solution we didn't think was possible but working with FirstLight and the staff in Palm Beach has been great and we'll likely continue after she fully recovers.

My brother's and I had to make a tough decision for our Dad as his Alzheimer's and dementia is getting worse. He needed private care to stay in his own place for the time being (which we agreed to because he is happiest there). The search process wasn't going well but after we had such a good visit with the staff from FirstLight in Palm Beach, we decided there was no one else to look into. They were all friendly and knowledgeable about my father's condition. While he needed some encouragement in the early days, now he really enjoys the setup and is doing well at his own place.
