My mother has had dementia for the last 10 years. Prior to finding placement in Bayshore she had 2 stints in rehab, a broken hip, multiple UTIs and was loosing weight. Leslie Anne and the folks at Bayshore have been fabulous with my mom since her placement about 6 months ago. She seems happy and is well cared for. I’ve seen first hand how poorly some AL facilities treat their staff and residents. Every staff member that I have encountered at Bayshore seems genuinely caring and concerned for the residents and my mom. Before Bayshore, I was always scared to be too far away and would worry the entire time that I was out of town. Since she’s been at Bayshore, I don’t worry so much about her. I know that she is well taken care of and that if anything we’re to happen Leslie Anne would be on top of it immediately.Her and Monica have the experience and deep compassion that is needed to oversee and provide a good environment for my Mom and our loved ones. Thank Goodness we found them and that we were lucky enough to be able to get Mom in there.

My mom has been at Bayshore for 7 months. The transition at first was a little bumpy, as expected because that is the nature of the disease. She settled in fairly quickly and has honestly been delighted to be at Bayshore since! The staff have been very caring and kind and Mom feels cared for. My recent visit did not disappoint either! I am even more impressed now with the facility and the manager, Leslie Ann, because of how they have navigated hurricane Ian. My mom has been snug as a bug and safe and sound since before the storm hit. Her needs are well attended to and she feels safe and loves her room mate! I fought with the doctor at the hospital about sending my mom to this facility. The doctor was sure Mom should go to a 150 bed facility and didn’t even realize my Mom had dementia! I couldn’t get the facility the doctor recommended to call me back and they failed to show up for the tour! Communication with staff and the manager at Bayshore could not be easier. If you are lucky enough to find an opening for your loved one at Bayshore, you won’t be disappointed. I am forever grateful that we were referred to Bayshore. Mom is truly living her best life and the social stimulation has improved her cognition. She is more fit and active and eats healthy food. 100 percent recommend, without reservation!

This is the third care facility for my sister who has early onset dementia at age 71. As her cognition declined, her needs outstripped the previous facilities' capacities. We are thrilled and grateful that she is now under the watchful and caring eye of Leslie Ann O'Gorman and the wonderful staff at Bayshore. I live on the other side of the country and rest easy knowing that my sister is surrounded by people that not only monitor her physically, but keep her engaged and content. Their professional care here is more than matched by the compassion and dignity they bestow on residents. It is also the only facility I've seen prioritize their meals with a healthy, organic diet that supports cognition - true memory care!

This is a follow-up review to what I wrote in October of 2016. We were fortunate to find Bayshore in 2014. Mom had nearly died in her home. There was something wrong with her health, but she refused to move out of her home. After the fall, rehab, and a mental acuity examination, it was determined that Mom needed an ALF. We toured several places and fell in love with Bayshore. There was, and still is, a feeling there between the employees and the residents that was absent at the other two large facilities we toured. It was love. Bayshore has had a lot of turnover of employees during the last six years as I observed (Telephone calls and onsite visits) Bayshore from afar. (WE live in another part of the state of Florida.) There have also been long term employees like Becky, who we now consider a friend. Why the turnover? This is a tough industry. The employees care for people everyday who are going to die. Mom was on Tidewell Hospice three times. She graduated from hospice twice. She rebounded to a fair level of activity and awareness twice. But not the 3rd time. My mother passed away on September 16, 2020 at the age of 92 of natural causes. She had been in Bayshore for over 6 years. We believe Mom was well taken care of during her time there. Mom considered Bayshore her home. The Administrator, Leslie Ann OGorman, is very tough. She runs the place. She manages the employees, who are required to meet high patient care standards. She also herds the resident families as they struggle with what to do for their loved one. She can be called at all hours, day or night, on her cell phone. Sometimes she has called us in the evening to discuss issues related to Mom. If Leslie Ann has a major flaw, it is that she falls in love with all her residents. Each resident becomes her own family member. She hurts when they hurt. When a resident dies and the family grieves, so does she. If you are looking for a safe and secure place for your failing loved one, then I highly recommend Bayshore Guest House and Gardens.

I can’t speak for more than one interaction, but I was blown away to find a place like this even exists. It is a small and intimate setting, and it is a home, with a little courtyard pool and a beautiful, lush tropical garden beyond the screened patio. Becky and the other staff members I met were gentle and caring toward my dying father, and he has a comfortable room all to himself. I sat with him out in the lanai for a few hours, watching the birds, butterflies and lizards in the garden. It gives me tremendous peace to know that this is where my dad will pass. As I said to Leslie, the director “Bless them.”

Bayshores warm, homey atmosphere reflects her confidence born of years of experience caring for elders as a nurse in Europe and in the U.S. Bayshore is unique in how it welcomes people home, when home must provide special support in a peaceful setting, with a gentle touch. Since 2014, I have helped many elders and their families find safe, secure new homes. I have always been relieved and grateful when Bayshore opens its doors to a new resident because I know she or he will be will be a welcome guest!

I have been providing art at Bayshore Guest Home and Gardens for several years , and am I couldn't be more impressed with the love, devotion, patience and respect the staff (and especially the Administrator, Leslie Ann) have for their residents. The ratio of staff to residents is triple the minimum required during the day, and double at night. The personal attention and care to the residents is above anything I've ever seen. If you are looking for a cozy home setting for your family member where they will NOT be treated like "just a number" and get the tailored, individual care and attention that they deserve, Bayshore Guest Home and Gardens is one of a kind and unparalleled in their approach to taking care of their residents. I saw a comment from a former disgruntled employee (I assume) and can say first hand, that they have staff that have been there for years. They have very high standards and expectations of their staff, so the ones who are disrespectful or inattentive to the residents or don't follow their safety procedures to the letter, don't last long. I personally think that is a credit to them, not a flaw. They don't tolerate the mediocrity that is the norm in their field. Over the years, I have observed the Administrator "go to bat" for her residents because not only does she not settle for anything but the best care for her residents in her facility, she doesn't tolerate it in any matters relating to her residents in any arena. When you become part of Bayshore, you become part of her family and she watches over her residents like they were her own. She is not only a loving caregiver, but their advocate, making sure no one or nothing falls through the cracks. This is a boutique facility--small and personal. When you call their phone number, you don't get a staff member, your call goes directly to the Administrator, Leslie Ann's cell phone! She is hands on, and answers that phone around the clock! This is unheard of, and frankly, I don't even know how she does it!! If you are searching for that special, intimate assisted living facility where your family member will truly feel at home (and not in a giant institution), you need to call Leslie Ann. She listens; she genuinely cares; and you will be so glad you did!

I have known Leslie OGorman professionally for over 6 years and during that time I have found her to be highly professional and a wonderfully compassionate patient advocate, always interested in providing the best possible service to all patients under her care. As a private duty Home Health Administrator, I have found Leslie to be resourceful, intelligent and adaptive to meet the needs of her residents. She has been extremely active in helping the surrounding community as well, organizing and distributing needed lifesaving supplies to local residents during times of crisis, such as during Hurricane Irma. Reading the recent negative reviews of fired employees who had a problem with employee drug testing has me appalled. I have provided art and creative activities for the residents at bayshore for some time and can tell you none of those vindictive statements are true. The core staff are amazing and having known Leslie Ann for a long time, I can say I have never met a caregiver so personally invested and committed to her residents. I advise anyone considering bayshore for a loved one, to visit bayshore and find out for themselves what this beautiful facility is really all about and not givie credance to a handful of former staff members who couldnt meet their standards. Bayshore Guest Homes and Gardens has been a haven for my mother and our family. I found Bayshore through A Place For Mom. They suggested Bayshore and two other places that could fit her needs. My wife and I visited their suggestions and Bayshore was the best place for my mom, hands down. Over the past two years I have visited mom at all hours of the day and evening and I have always been pleased with the staff and the living conditions of the residents. I often find staff doing tender and loving things with the residents as if they were their own family member. I know that my mom is safe, clean and well taken care of and she is living in a home setting that is warm and caring. Leslie Ann is the administrator and I respect and appreciate her management style. Our family trust her without question because of our individual experiences with her, the staff and the residents. She is a "no nonsense" person when it comes to the treatment and care of the people in her charge. The primary objective at Bayshore is the care and dignity of the family members we leave to be cared for by the staff. It is a home atmosphere from the moment you walk in and experience the smell of fresh food being prepared for the residents. I've eaten with my mother several times and it's real home cooking, not the usual institutional type of food. I will also tell you that I have gotten medical updates on my mother's health on a regular basis after the visiting doctor and nurse made their exam of her. Bayshore has received several awards for their exemplary care and administration of their duties on behalf of the residents. They are a model that many other ALF should follow. I sleep well at night knowing that my mom is sleeping well too. That is piece of mind. Thank you Bayshore .

I want everyone to know that Bayshsore Guest Homes and Gardens the BEST care center in Nokomis, FL.. WORKING TOGETHER THOUGH IRMA. With the biggest heart. It is a home like atmosphere living room, large dinning room,kitchen that has home cooked meals just like at home. The STAFF takes care of there clients just like they are family. ALL THE STAFF at Bayshore are 100% caring, understanding, polite,friendly,loving and very hard workers. The administrator and her staff did a 101% of GREAT CARE giving keeping everyone safe as hurraican Irma came to Nokomis, FL. I live in Indiana and my mother 99 years old lives at Bayshore. I was called and keep up to date on what was going on by the administrator,when they need to move to Brookside Shelter in Sarasota for two nights. Knowing that there was not any thing I could do but say a prayer that God take care of them ALL...Then I get a call again to tell me that all are OK and my Mom was happy to see her bed. Every one was thankfully that everyone was safe and back home again.. I want to say THANK YOU to each of the STAFF and the ADMINISTRATOR for all the HARD WORK keeping all of them safe. That was because all the hard work by the great staff...that works together wonderfully... STAFF GREAT JOB for going up and above...That to me means they really do CARE and LOVE each of there clients... There is no other place like Bayshore. The personal care given to residents is far superior then any other facility I know. My brother and I travel often and have always felt confident that our mom is getting the best of care. It is a home environment. The staff is very caring and always with a smile on their face. Leslie, who manages the facility, overlooks the facility and when needed she has filled in when they have been short of staff members. If you are looking for an Assisted Care Facility that truly cares about the residents this is the place to check out. Also the reason why the caregivers are so good is because they have been elsewhere and feel the working conditions are so much better at Bayshore. Leslie is always on top making sure she has the best staff for her residents.

My mother nearly died while living alone in a mobile home in Northport, FL. After a critical hospital stay and time in a rehab center, we found Bayshore Guest Home and Gardens. The medical staff and the staff doctor got my mothers medical conditions into a manageable state. Mom has been there for around four years now. She recognizes that she is in safe place and well taken care of. We have called and visited Bayshore many times and found the staff to be wonderful. We also have regular telephone updates from the administrator. It is obvious to us that the administrator and the daily staff care about each of the residents. It is a wonderful feeling to know that your parent is loved by the people taking care of her every day.

Before that she was in a large well known facility, No one checked on her to see if she had even come down for meals or how she was doing. I have had family for years in homes and I certainly have become very knowledgeable of care given to our seniors. I was blessed to have met Leslie Ann OGorman who invited me to perform for her guest at Bayshore Guest Home. I was totally taken in by this woman and the respect of her staff. Having my grandmother in 3 different homes in 9yrs showed me what compassion really is and I know beyond a doubt, I found Bayshore Guest Home to have this special charm and radiance because of a dedicated woman with miles and years of experience who with a generous heart shows respect and above all brings dignity to the aging senior. I am always willing to visit Bayshore Guest Home and staff under the direction of Leslie Ann OGorman to entertain and bring a smile to the senior guest. Being in the people business all my life, and taking time to attend classes to become a CSA (Certified Senior Advisor) I consider myself an authority of how a senior should be treated and the many challenges they face as their journey continues in an adult home! I recently moved my mother with dementia from Atlanta to Florida where she is a resident at Bayshore Guest Home. I am overwhelming excited, relieved and overjoy with the care that I have witnessed from the staff there. They are kind, considerate and patient with the clients and treat each other with respect and a team approach at assisting the clients with their needs. Leslie Ann, one of the administrators is kind, reassuring, caring and considerate of my mothers needs addressing those needs with resolution exppeditiously. Although the previous reviews are negative, Ive experienced nothing but positivity and love from this facility and would recommend it to my family and friends without reservation. My experience as a RN has allowed me to see and work in less than desirable subpar facilities and this is not one of them. Kudos to Bayshore!!!
