I feel obligated to let prospective residents of Brookdale New Port Richey know of current situation there regarding smoking. I lived there for 5 months in 2024. I read and signed a contract that stated it was a “ non smoking community”. Regrettably found out this is an inaccurate statement. If you walk the grounds, you will find an incredible number of cigarette butts and see many smokers…even a village that allows smokers. It is a business… and makes allowance for smokers despite their contract that allows “grandfathered smokers “ (undefined). There is a substantial fee paid to enter community. BEWARE IF SMOKING OFFENDS YOU, it is uncontrolled, even if they say that there are designated smoking areas. Residents…AND STAFF… smoke wherever they want… I left solely for that reason.

So many positives about this community! Dedicated staff with many friends among residents! Could not dream of a better place for my mother to live. She is close to me while still living her own life. Safe and affordable. Feels like family.

We have had a wonderful experience with Brookdale Senior Living in New Port Richey, FL. We needed a new home for our aunt who was recently diagnosed with memory issues. Amy Williams really saved the day! Amy went above and beyond to help. She is our angel. Our aunt is now settled and enjoying her new home at Brookdale. We HIGHLY recommend this senior living community!

Take advantage of the beautiful weather in Florida: I love that my mother is motivated to get out of her apartment and go outside every day to enjoy the weather, meet friends at activities, and walk to one of the nearby dining rooms. Mom often chooses to get more walking exercise by strolling along the covered walkways (wide, flat, crack and bump-free sidewalks). And she’ll never be in the rain, nor overheated from sunshine because the paths are covered overhead. Even sitting/relaxing outside is a treat because she can enjoy the courtyard gardens and say hello to people walking by. 5. Variety of housing choices: While there were plenty of options from which to choose, we selected a “large studio” apartment for my mother. It has a good amount of space for the bedroom, living room with large skylight and 2 windows, walk-in shower in bathroom, and large walk-in closet. Some units offer kitchenettes, but we felt that it was unnecessary due to the abundance of good food offered in the dining room. Price varies depending upon the type/size of apartment/room and level of assistance needed. My mother would be paying double the amount if she had moved to an assisted living facility in the Chicago suburbs. So, she’s paying much less here, while getting more activities, quality of care, and great Florida weather. They provide weekly cleaning services and laundry at no charge. With the wide variety of activities, live entertainment, cheerful staff & wonderful dining options, we like to say that Brookdale can be compared to a cruise…but on land and on a smaller scale. My mother gets the assistance she needs with medication and bathing, and I can have an enjoyable visit, and then walk away knowing that I have nothing to worry about because she is happy and well cared for. My family members and I have great peace of mind seeing how happy our mother is in her new home and knowing we made the right and best choice for her. Hallelujah!.

My dad moved here about six weeks ago. He is in a large studio apartment, which is actually quite roomy. I love that they offer outdoor and outside the facility activities like a car show recently. He really seem to enjoy seeing the antique cars there. The staff has been very friendly but I've got to give a shout out to Tina Lay. She has gone above and beyond. Any questions I have she is my go to person. And if she doesn't know the answer, she directs me to who I need to talk to. Ruth at the front desk has also been wonderful. I love having him over on this coast and Brookdale seems to be a good fit.

Care and respect for all individuals. Total satisfaction is an unattainable goal during these difficult times. Understaffing is pervasive everywhere but the effort to compensate is obvious at Brookdale New Port Richey.

Brookdale New Port Richey is a great place for any senior. The property is well managed and clean. The property is open and feels like a nice apartment complex and not a closed up ALF. The dining hall is fast and has attentive staff with great variety of meals cooked everyday. Definitely ask for Amy she helped us with options and gave a great tour. My Mother has been there for 6 months and the staff and property has exceeded our expectations. The Director is friendly and answers any questions the family has and Jill the medical team supervisor has helped us and always is close by. So when looking for a place for your loved one please consider Brookdale New Port Richey.

Friendly and caring staff to both residents and visitors. My friend moved here from another local facility and was so much happier. She liked that she had choices for meals and they were good. After the first month it was found that she did not need as much assistance and her monthly cost went down! Staff also worked well with the hospice team caring for her.

My aunt is currently a resident and she says the food is terrible and she has lost 12 lbs in 3 months. She is not a picky eater. Also she has to wait a long time to receive help when she calls for it. She is not happy here. Im sure the new covid rules are part if the problem, but theres no excuse for bad food!

Brookdale was a godsend when mom and dad could no longer live on their own. They reside in Florida, which they call home, for over 30 years while we are far away in Massachusetts. The staff has been amazing! From Amy, Director of Sales and Marketing, through the nursing staff and the servers in the dining room. They are a kind and caring staff who get to know the residents. Communication has been so important for us being so far away, and they have definitely been available to answer any questions we have had, and have kept us updated on their health and wellness. We give Brookdale New Port Richey 5 Stars! Thank You for ALL you do!!

The nurse, Julia is wonderful and kind. Id love to hug her but it probably would scare her. The compassion she showed to my Mom though was amazing and reassured me that I have placed my Mom in good hands. The residents all seem very happy and the atmosphere is very friendly and inviting here. All of the staff members have always greeted me with smiles and everyone has been more than willing to help me in any way possible with whatever I have needed. I am so grateful to have found Brookdale and happy that my parents are here!

My grandparents lived here for years. They Loved it! I send all the people I know here. very caring staff. I really like the memory care unit. Amy is great with ensuring a smooth transition from home or facilities. Mitch the administrator is awesome. Jason the chef is great, and truly cares about the patients. Activities is very open to new ideas. 5 stars!

I recommend Brookdale in new Port Richey very highly. When I went for a tour for my mother the people there were very friendly and helpful. The rooms and the facility were very clean. The staff were very helpful and very nice. I give Brookdale a five star rating. I recommend this community for anyone who is looking to put a love one there to live. My mother was very happy with the facility and was very pleased to know that she would be living there.

My grandmother has been here for a couple of years now and she loves it. Amy helped us get our grandmother settled in and she was polite and helpful during the process. We picked this place because there are no hidden fees. They provide the room, meals, laundry, cleaning, daily activities and transportation to wal-mart, church, and doctor appointments. We went up for lunch yesterday and it was the best lunches ever. The food came out hot and it was fresh. The servers are always so pleasant and friendly. They only charge $5 for a guest lunch which is very reasonable. The Director walks around greeting people and making sure you have everything you need. When we were there last month we showed him something that needed fixed and he had someone fix it right away. They take my grandmother to the store, to medical appointments, church and the occasional tour of local areas. There is a beautiful courtyard that always has something blooming. They do such a nice job keeping the grounds looking nice. She really enjoys the daily exercise class and the weekly card games. I know that they have craft sessions and they have entertainment come in, and theme days and family days.

My God mother/Aunt says she loves it there. and if she is happy I'm happy ! i do think that they need to spruce up the green area between the two buildings to brighten that area up. Thanks for taking such good care of her and the rest of the residence

After touring the Brookdale facility in New Port Richey I knew that was the place I wanted to be, and I wasn't wrong. This facility runs like a well-oiled machine. Everyone contributes to making this an enjoyable place to be despite your circumstances. Mitch, the director goes out of his way to address your needs. Jason , the head chef makes everthing delicious and interesting. Hats off to the right on the money maintenance crew headed by Joe and the spic and span rooms overseen by Suzette. I am sending this post for my sister Joan Gottschalk who is a resident at Brookdale in New Port Richey. She is very pleased with having chosen this residence and has made lots of new friends. The staff is wonderful. The residence runs like a well oiled machine under the direction of Mitch. Jason, the head of kitchen, provides delicious and varied meals, April, the head of activities, provideds interesting things to do. The maintenance staff, headed by Joe, is always willing to do anything that needs to be done. All the units are kep clean under the management of Suzette. She gives Brookdale FIVE STARS.

My father stays here. The staff is always friendly and welcoming from the time we set him up to each visit. The outdoor areas make it feel like condo living with the Florida outdoor living that's makes each visit enjoyable. We had dinner with dad on the last visit and were overwhelmingly surprised the food and service were over the top. Thank you for the wonderful meal and providing dad with a great community we know he enjoys being a part of.????

Met with Laurie and she was so friendly and professional. Was such a very nice visit for my brother to see just,how nice and friendly all staff people were, how clean the facility was and in general a great visit...p.s. He loved the free popcorn he got and the girl was exceptionally friendly also,who was in the dining room. In all a great visit with friendly and courteous people. A big move for my brother, but he felt so welcome there, was great! Thank you Laurie for making his transition seem much easier...

Our father recently became a resident of Brookdale in New Port Richey. Seeing your parent move from the comfort and security of their own home, into a new residence where it's like starting all over again, can be hard to digest for people in their 50's and 60......let alone people in their 80's and 90's. The staff went out of their way to make Dad's transition as seamless as possible.Fellow residents encouraged new friendships. Activities are plenty.The dining experience also is very good. If you don't care for what's on the menu, then feel free to order off a separate menu. I've seen other comments about Brookdale, regarding staffing, drug abuse, etc. Personally these sound more like disgruntled employees more than constructive criticism. While visiting my father, the staff was friendly, attentive and really made us feel that we made the right choice. Any business can always use more staff and working in a senior center is a special calling, with compassion and patience high on the list. If Brookdale does not meet our expectations over the long run, Dad can always move out. Check around, get feedback from the employees......the residents....ask questions, then ask more. This is an important decision and you don't want to make a wrong one.

Updated review: 12/04/17 Awesome staff!! Mom. And dad were in Assisted Living until daddys Dementia got worse and he was moved to Memory Care. They were so sweet and accommodating and explained everything in detail to momma so shed know exactly what was going on, the Good, the bad and the ugly...Alzheimers is a horrible disease. As daddy neared the end they were again very, very sweet and treated us like kings and queens. We love all of the staff in Memory Care because we knew we were not patients or charges... but we are beloved family.
