December 2024
My mom was a resident here for the last 9 months. Mom was bed bound and had several pressure wounds when we moved her from another Assisted Living. Silver Lake Village is a small facility with 6 residents. Each resident has their own private room. It is in a residential home, the residents eat all their meals together, play bingo and other games. There is a beautiful enclosed lanai and a large front porch. they are served 3 healthy meals and several snacks each day. The home is spotless, laundry is done daily and surprisingly always returned to the correct resident. It is a safe environment for residents who are cognitively declining. The best thing is the love and care given to each resident. Mom had dementia and numerous health issues and at times would become combative, the staff handled her with love and care. Martha, the owner of SilverLake is very hands on and creates a learning environment for her staff. When mom would have a difficult night; agitation or hallucinations, the overnight staff members would sit in her room with her until she fell asleep. I loved that the visiting hours were 9 to 9 every day. Mom died December 5th and my sisters and I will be forever grateful for the care and love mom was given. Although mom is no longer there I will continue to visit the residents and staff who feel like a part of my family.
