I made two visits to the property in person, several phone calls, and many text messages to the sales representative and the nursing director, as I was looking for an ALF for my mother. I was treated with Great, patients, respect, and most of all compassionate understanding on how difficult this can be for a family. Ultimately, my mother chosen different facility, but it was a close tie. Couple of minor reasons she did not end up living at Oak Manor was because a different facility was closer in proximity to family, and that catholic mass was not actually on site but required a van ride and the other facility had mass in house. Also, My 93-year-old mother was more comfortable with a smaller facility. Overall had a very good impression of an older facility working to continue to maintain and upgrade with compassionate caring staff.. I liked to hear that they have modern digital record-keeping on each resident using computer software and appeared to have experienced knowledgeable, medical personnel. The large size of the studio and the one bedroom apartments seemed a very good value in comparison to other similar facilities The clubhouse restaurant style dining room looked nice and spacious too. Thank you to both Ashley’s for your patience and support to me and my family. To come in on a Sunday to allow us a second look was exemplary customer service!!!

We were apprehensive to say the least but had heard how great the therapy program was., the facility may be a bit dated., but very clean and most importantly filled with employees that are genuinely nice and pleasant. The therapy program did not disappoint., the therapists knew my dad on the first day. Everyone positive and motivating. The patients all have a team spirit that is infectious. I highly recommend Oak Manor for the personal attention they give each patient. i would be comfortable here.

My mother-in-law moved to Oak Manor not long after my late husband and I moved from Tampa to Largo. She relocated to Largo after her retirement to be close to her only child. She was very happy with her villa and easily made friends during the social activity times in the main dining area and many times my friend Karen and I would join her for the live entertainment offered there. As she progressed in age memory lapses started and we sought visiting angels to help with light housekeeping and such. Sadly my husband 's health declined and he passed away. At 4 months after his passing she fell and broke her hip. When I arrived after a call from Oak Manor to follow the ambulance which they had called, someone was there on the floor holding her hand and 2 others present. They gave me comfort as well . This is one reason I am writing this. She was moved into their rehab facility upon her hospital discharge where she received excellent care. Although emptying her villa since she wouldn't be returning there was difficult, I had help from staff at Oak Manor and they even found another resident who adopted her cat. Sadly her early dementia progressed to the point that she needed to be in the nursing facility. I received assistance from management with the transition and the first couple of years I would go to bingo and sit with her as her hearing declined. When I couldn't be there the person running the game so to speak would have her sit by her so she could see the numbers and still play. The personnel there are caring and I've never heard anyone there complaining about their jobs or what they do. I have told my children if something happens to me and I need assistant living, I want to be at Oak Manor . She is now in late stages of dementia, 98 years of age, and still is being checked on and treated well considering the circumstances. I cannot praise them enough. Sincerely, Janice

Overall, oak manor is a good facility. I believe the staff are kind and really do care for the patients there. The prices for assisted living are expensive but they are the cheapest I believe in the whole area. I received a letter in the mail about my father’s rent increase hardly a month before the increase took place. For most residents who are on a fixed income, a $170 increase with not even a months notice is incredibly difficult. Again, the nursing staff is great in my father’s experience and the rest of staff are kind and understanding for the most part. I just think sometimes communication could be a lot better.

We moved my mom in to the ALF yesterday...everyone has been so kind and attentive to her these past two days; starting with Ashley and Pam in the front office, to all of the nurses who check on her every two hours to the clubhouse staff, concierge, Holly in the business office, Justin the administrator and she has met some nice neighbors already. Mom's fear was being alone and at Oak Manor she doesn't have to be afraid of being alone - thank you for being so welcoming to her. She loves her new place!

The staff is plentiful, courteous and mostly caring. The PT and OT care is very thorough. The facilities are suitable for the purpose. However, the efforts to control our diabetic patient's blood sugar were not sufficient. Also, the diet provided was not a diabetic diet, although the patient could choose diabetic friendly items, if so inclined. Over all, we are satisfied with the care provided.

I am honestly surprised at some of the bad reviews. I read about Oak Manor before I allowed my man to stay there. I did see some good reviews so I thought I’d take a chance, but I am so far very pleasantly surprised! We get to order our own food according to his taste and what he can handle. Since he has trouble with his balance and handling food, I make sure they can give him a sandwich at night when I can’t be with him And he is always able to manage his breakfast on his own somehow before I get there and I imagine he’s getting help doing that as well. They keep them well changed and dressed in between time as when I’m there I haven’t yet found him dirty in the bed And everyone seems very nice and personable. He hasn’t had any physical therapy yet as we moved in only two days ago and today’s Christmas Day. Our first PT experience should be tomorrow but so far he’s had two occupational therapy sessions, which were very successful!

The care here for the most part is very good. My mother is not a resident there, but she was in skilled nursing for three weeks. The bed wasn’t comfortable for her, and the bathrooms really need to be updated. Some of the staff at skilled nursing was absolutely wonderful, and some of them should not be in the business. I moved in 2 yrs ago! I would like to point out that when I moved in, they were under different management and the situation was not good. I was lied to, just to get me moved in and promised things that were impossible to perform. Needless to say, I was ready to move back out. However, the head maintenance man G, told me to stick it out, and that new management was coming. He was correct! The new management cares about their people. Miss D and her staff are wonderful, G, Jonathan, and Colby are great maintenance men who take care of everything on the spot. These people have become like family. I would recommend anyone to move in as they are turning things around and making them way better!

We came to know Oak Manor when mom was a resident of the nursing home. She was there about two years where she was cared for with love from the staff. Since mom's passing Dad has decided he wanted to move the Independent living side of the property. He still goes up and visits the residents in the nursing side weekly he has adopted the residents and staff as his second family. I tried to get him to look at properties in Tampa (closer to me) but he wouldn't have it. Dad is a very independent 87 year old so this situation works out perfectly. If and when he needs the assisted living, he doesn't have to change where he lives, they will come to him and if nursing care is needed it is just across the parking lot. We started the process five months ago and finally signed all the paperwork. We worked with Ashely and I cannot say enough about the care and dedication she provided for all of us. She stayed in constant communication with me. Ashely went above and beyond for us, she is a great reflection of the company. The unit is spacious and will give dad the peace and comfort of home, being surrounded by friends, while getting the nutrition and "looking after" he will need (I will need). At 87 it is hard for him to get around but with the pick up service they provide he is in great hands. The property is an older property but that gives it charm. I feel that we had a sneak peek into the inner working of the property and the staff while mom was there. As dad says, I want to live what years I have left at Oak Manor with my friends.

I scheduled a tour for my mom with Ashley, and she was right on time and greeted me promptly. She took me on an extremely thorough tour of the housing units and facilities and patiently answered all of my questions. The units are well appointed and quite spacious, and the grounds are very nice. The entire development is immaculately well kept. Although the community is a little older, everything is maintained very well and it has an intimate feel to it, which is great. All of the staff I encountered were extremely friendly and helpful. After the tour, Ashley was very tuned in to listening to my needs for my mom, and there was zero pressure which I appreciated so much and didn’t experience at other communities I toured. Ashley was cooperative and it was clear that she really wanted to ensure that Oak Manors would be the best fit for my mom. I felt so comfortable with everyone during my tour, that I know this would be a great place for me mom when the time comes for her to move into independent living. From my experience with Ashley and the rest of the staff, I know my mom would be in great hands and perfectly happy living at Oak Manors, and that peace of mind is hard to find! I highly recommend touring the community with Ashley if you are looking for a warm and comforting community for independent living for yourself or a loved one.

I was really impressed with Oak Manor Senior Living Community. It isn’t overly fancy, but it feels like home. Most of us grew up in a place like this; simple, clean, cozy. There are big oak trees and screened porches. The grounds are well kept. The community calendar is full of events, and they aim to help seniors stay active in the community they even drive seniors to three different churches on Sundays and go to Largo Rec Center on Mondays. Of course, they have outings and grocery store visits and all the other things that are standard in communities where people are no longer driving Oak Manor has a small town feel where people know your name and your interests. They are close to a hospital, doctors, offices, and common stores for shopping. They are in a no evacuation zone, which brings a sense of peace during storm season. There is a small dog park in the community and they seem to help residents carry-on with living their best lives. When you go to tour the community, you will meet Ashley Pfaff. I felt like she really cares about the residents and their well-being. She is easy to talk to, answers all your questions and is available by cellphone when you have additional questions. I would absolutely love to move my Mom to Oak Manor, but she is hell-bent on living in another city. Nevertheless, I felt like my neighbors should know about this little gem, and consider the community for their loved ones when the time is right.

A great place for mom! Ashley was incredible at helping me get my elderly mother all set up at Oak Manor. My mother transferred from the rehab side of Oak Manor to Assisted Living. There was SO much paper work that needed to be done and Ashley was a life saver through all of it. All of the staff was so helpful and kind. I like that there a many levels of care based on my mothers needs. I love that this is an Age-In-Place community. My mother really is thriving now that she is a resident at Oak Manor. I've been living here for two and a half years now and I have enjoyed most of the time here. They try to have good activities and shopping. The staff is very friendly !! I would definitely recommend this place to someone who is looking for assisted or Independent Living.
