Heron House in Largo is truly a remarkable assisted living facility. As a guardian for a resident with many unique quirks, I have witnessed firsthand the exceptional care and kindness provided by the staff. Every team member goes above and beyond to ensure that he feels comfortable, respected, and valued. The environment at Heron House is warm and welcoming, with a genuine family-like atmosphere that sets it apart from other facilities. The staff are not only highly professional and skilled, but also incredibly patient and compassionate. They take the time to understand and cater to each resident's individual needs, making sure they feel right at home. What impresses me the most is how the staff at Heron House consistently treat my ward with the utmost dignity and respect, despite his quirks. Their dedication to providing personalized care is evident in every interaction, and it brings me immense peace of mind knowing he is in such capable and caring hands. Heron House in Largo is a beacon of excellence in assisted living, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking a compassionate and supportive environment for their loved ones.

She shows greater mobility, social interaction, healthy eating habits, and a greater interest in every day activities. Update 4/18/24 Our Activity Director, Lynn is truly amazing, I maybe a little bit biased but her all inclusive duties are exuberantly creative , organized detailed and very professional .Her skills are noteworthy of setting up transportation for residents, appointment arrangements with Outside Doctors and other health services. In addition to providing morning stretches and exercise she maintains an active recreational program with live karaoke sessions that are a as good as night at the Apollo' . Our krafts are very creative with beautiful beads designed for bracelets or necklaces. We also are delighted to create incredible designs and artifacts for various holidays.Other activities include bingo cards and other games with various social events such as ice cream socials, fresh baked cookies and many more there are so many other others options to fill up up your time while enjoying your community. This place is very clean and a wonderful place to call home . Off street transportation and in good location for shopping and dining also close to beach. Staff and residents are very friendly and welcoming to all. Recreations and supportive safe environment .

Updated Review - We moved my sister into Heron House in March of 2020 and I left a positive review at that time and 3+ years later I want to update it. Heron House continues to be a wise choice for placement of my sister. Since 2020 She has made it her home and participates in chapel, crafts, games, decorating and whatever else she can do to keep busy with her time. They have a very busy activity calendar and provide fun entertainment for their residents. The staff has been nothing but supportive and loving towards her. They make it possible for her, even with her disabilities, to feel cared for and loved. It is very difficult to make the decision to move a loved one into an assisted living facility however, Heron House was a GREAT choice and I am now happy we choose it for her.

I usually don't give a 5 rating however in this case it really fits!! My mother in law is at this facility, after leaving our home. I would like to give a Big Shout out to the administration (Amanda and Heather). They have gone above and beyond the call of duty to help everyone involved with a seamless transition. Maintenance (Eugene) has been a Great help with assisting my mother in law. He did a great job in getting her room ready. Really nice suite!!! We searched a lot of other facilities and Heron House has been OUTSTANDING AND I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS FACILITY .....

I've been living at the Heron House almost a year. Even though I moved in during Covid its been a good experience. The Staff are all good people. The building is beautiful. A lot of Improvements have started and I cant wait to see the finishing touches. I enjoy my freedom, I can come and go as I please. The Activities are great and improving daily. The driver dash is awesome. The shopping center near by is perfect. The people who live here are nice neighbors. Our Laundry lady does a wonderful job with our clothes. You will enjoy living here just like I do. Jan

I toured the Heron House with the Director of Marketing Heather. She was very kind, patient and answered all my questions and concerns.The building was gorgeous and the staff were all pleasant. Myself and my family will be making a final decision for my Mother and Heron House will definitely be on top of the list.

I love this ALF for my 95 year old father. It's hands down the best atmosphere for all ages versus all the others I have visited in the vicinity. It's only 2 floors, so there is never a line-up at the elevator. It is airy, well decorated, and calm. When I visit my father for a week, I sleep on his couch so I can see what it's really like to LIVE there (I'm 57 with a full time executive job in NH). The staff are all kind and respectful. I have engaged with many of the residents, who are also wonderful people with marvelous stories to share. The activities' director, Michelle, is such a warm person - clearly dedicated to offering distractions - from bingo, board game, and jigsaw puzzle sessions to baking cookies and inviting song & dance entertainment into the lobby. I always enjoy my visits there and the fact that there are stores in walking distance, so that I don't need a rental car - just Uber for the occasional trip to a restaurant, but I mainly eat there and certainly can't beat the price for a warm meal and the wonderful people I've met at the table as well as the wonderful dining staff.

I have been a resident here for about three and a half years and have seen a lot changes but the one thing that remains the same has been the quality of the staff members. Some have come and gone but with the exception of one or two, who both are no longer here, they have all been terrific to be around. We have to trust these staff members implicitly for not only the simple things, but with our medications therby making them in charge of out lives should God forbid there be a mixup. We do have a lot of young staff members and I for one love it. They keep us laughing and try to keep us up to date on what's current........... I had a terrible flu bug last year and three of the young ladies took such good care of me including going back and forth to the Dollar General to buy Ginger Ale for with their own money and sitting with me with a cold compress on my head and risking catching what I had. So, I think staff all around is great....... Room sizes are pretty good compared to some other ALF'S I have seen. And Housekeeping does a great job on the weekly cleaning of your room and bathroom. The Dining Room is open all day and if you are lucky, Kim will have made one of her terrific soups, with the Corn Chowder being hands down the favorite. And the kids working in the dining room will definately entertain you..... So, all in all, this is my experience for the last three and a half years. If you would like to take a tour and even meet my dog Spencer, who is kind of like the resident goofball of Heron House, then give Sherri a call to set up an appointment. She is one of the nicest and most knowledgable people around and she will tell it to you straight and not just blow smoke at you to get you in the door. Well, that's all I have that I can think of. Good luck in whatever future endevour you decide to make!

This is definitely one of the best ultra care facilities in the area. The assistance given to residents is top drawer. The 'open style' cafeteria is unique and has a widely accepted schedule of operation. We are grateful for places such as Heron House Indian Rocks that can bring "refreshments" of various types to help family, friends, acquaintances and care givers. If you or a loved one, may be interested in a Family Day Picnic or arts and crafts program for growth for everyone involved, look at what Heron House has to offer: an Arts and Medicine project that may be a "game winner" and a lifestyle change that may fit your needs and all loved ones involved or concerned. Has any senior living location brought something into 'play' such as a beginning group of percussion, hand clapping, or foot stomping?==============What about violin and voice back up by tom toms and amplifier and microphone and speaker / hook-up for Activities Room discovery and exploration to bring about smiles.... what about shaking arms and hands; E-x-e-r-c-i-z-e with triangles, cymbals, bells, blocks, horns etc. to reach within and project without, to bring music and be gently lulled by a lullaby or ponder the good possibilities, that are uplifting to all caring and sharing humans and to bring to focus such notables as Susan Boyle, Sammy Davis Jr. Tony Bennett, Lawrence Welk or Johnny Mathis and Brabra Streishand? Lets try; Breathe In-----Breathe out. Yes, we are still here, alive and learning through our challenges, rehabilitation or even tardiness solutions and one 'project emphasis' may focus on senior men. Anyone for working with clay using our creativity, to build a ceramic pinch pot or receiving a line drawing demonstration?
