March 2024
friendly and helpful also rom my understanding, there is a hurricane preparedness meeting every year. There are generators, sandbags are prepared at the beginning of the season. Also, to date, this location is not in an evacuation zone.

My father has resided here for several years and this place is amazing. I visit him at least 4 times a week so I am able to see first hand how well he is treated by everyone and how well the place is run. It was such an important decision and we searched many places for the right fit. We found it……This place is beautiful!!!

I am Pat V. and I want to give my new home Elison of Pinecrest a wonderful review. Having won the battle with fourth stage Melanoma I decided I wanted as less stress in my life as possible. I hit the Jackpot when I decided on Pinecrest. The food is amazing, such variety and delicious and the dining room is supportive and very professional. I have the most beautiful apartment on the ninth floor which I call the Penthouse. It is beautiful and spacious. No cleaning to do, every week a housekeeper takes care of the heavy duty cleaning and laundry. I came back from breakfast and my place sparkles. The calendar is full with a wide variety of activities and exercises and the music is terrific. Every Friday, we have happy hour with drinks and fantastic music. I have heard a lot of music in Florida in the past 20 years but we beat a lot of the beach music by a mile. Diana Baldwin, our life enrichment director is a gem, she makes this place like a cruise ship on land. I have never felt better or had so much fun and new friends. So glad Pinecrest is my new home!

Amazing home for my mom! Hats off to Karen, our director and Becky. They have made Pinecrest such a wonderful and caring place. Karen and Becky routinely go out of their way to make each resident feel special. Pinecrest is always clean, the engineering staff are quick to respond to the needs of the residents and Loren (transportation) is very accommodating in getting our loved ones to their appointments in a timely fashion. My mom lived in another location close by and Pinecrest is such a welcome breath of fresh air. Thank you for what you do! I can't wait to see the magnificent lobby decorations for Christmas. The holiday lobby brings great energy to the residents. Love what you do and who you are!

My mom moved in a few months ago from out of state. The apartment is ok - a bit outdated, but she loves the view! Just some thoughts to share: Her refrigerator was supposed to be replaced, but it hasn't happened, yet. New carpet for the hallway never happened. I was assured there was a great newcomers group for her to meet people. They did a short meeting - once. I'm giving them 3 stars for overpromising and underdelivering The best attribute, so far, has been security and the ladies at the front desk.

I am thrilled with eliison at pinecrest. After losing my dad almost a year ago, my mom was incredibly lonely and isolated in her home in new york. I looked at so many different independent living places in South Florida but none were as amazing as Elison. The apartments are adorable, the entire building is well-maintained, clean and beautiful and there are so many activities to keep everyone engaged, social and independent. I always tell my mom it is like she is living on a cruise ship that doesn't move!
October 2023
Karen, Becky and Loren are the most wonderful people to watch over the care and direction of my mom. Activities are plentiful, careful attention is given to the menu and great detail is put into the planning of resident transportation. The residence is always clean and staff continuously interacts with the residents . The absolute best!

One of, if not the best Senior Living facilities in Pinellas county. Independent living, assisted living & memory care are all available. Too many amenities to list, but including a pool/hot tub, transportation, daily activities, a huge dining room & kitchen for most meals, a movie theatre, billiards room, bingo weekly & sooo much more!! Wonderful place to live or work, with kind & caring staff & even 24/7 security on site!!

As Executive Director for 20+ years of this heartwarming community I constantly here how warm and friendly our community is. We have been compared to a "Cruise ship" on land with so much to do with so many wonderful people. I'd love to meet you and treat you to some of our culinary delights!

My mother lived in Independent Living here for 14 years until she took a fall and after a hospital stay, had to go to rehab and then long term care. I was very upset that after 14 years of living here with the same staff members for those 14 years, NOT ONE of their management staff ever asked me how my Mom was doing or if she was dead or alive. I could not believe the lack of compassion of the people that run this place. It was actually heartbreaking to me and my family. And I talked to them many times after she had this fall but not one person cared enough to even ask how she was doing. And they all knew her very well. This is total lack of compassion in my opinion and I hope they know how disheartening and hurtful it is to be treated like this after so many years living there. Thank God for the one aide who actually cared enough to ask how she was doing. If you are looking to live in a community with a caring management team, I would think twice before moving here.

I contacted Jennifer (Sales Director) and told her my step-father is currently in a rehab facility post surgery (non ambulatory with moderate/severe dementia) and my mother would need assisted living facility services. Jennifer initially was very pleasant and had a nurse perform a medical/cognitive assessment when my mother was given a tour of the facility. The determination was made that she qualified for A.L.F. with level 1 care services. Jennifer told me that a nurse would contact my step-fathers rehab and make an assessment to determine the level of care necessary. Jennifer contacted me and stated he qualified for A.L.F. with level 3 care services. I was excited that my parents would be living together in a 2br / 2ba apartment. I completed all the necessary paperwork and to receive their advertised incentives, I had to sign the lease and give them a check for over $8000.00. Everything appeared to be falling into place until I contacted the rehab social worker who gives the patient assessments and determines proper care. He stated he had not talked to anyone from Elmcroft and that my step-father would not qualify for assisted living due to his continued medical decline. He was unable to stand/walk and would need further rehabilitation. He stated that a long term nursing center would be more appropriate after rehab. My step-father would not be able to live at Elmcroft. I was stunned to hear this since Jennifer assured me that my parents would be able to live together based on their assessment. This was a primary purpose for choosing Elmcroft of Pinecrest.. I was referred to Elaine (Move-in coordinator) which I find ironic because there was not one thing coordinated about this entire process....from paperwork, last minute Covid 19 tests, move-in dates changed on two separate occasions. Forms that need to be completed by their staff I personally had to make phone calls to get completed. When the move-in date came we had to use their moving company due to Covid 19 restrictions (which I understand)...However, I had to contact the moving company twice...once because they forgot the headboard and the other because they left a tv remote in their truck...my mom had to flip the pillowtop mattress because they put it on upside down plus we were charged $125.00 an hour for their mandatory service...Additionally, the cable tv service that is provided by Elmcroft (Spectrum basic service) was not working so my mother was in a new place unable to watch tv for 3 days (you would think these services would be checked and confirmed before the move-in) When I asked that they check it out they could not reach their maintenance man, Joe...I then attempted to contact Jennifer by phone...they said she was there but did not answer the phone. I left a message for her to contact me and never heard back.(I am not surprised)...I honestly have never seen such incompetence in a facility that takes care of our senior citizens and I have personally spent over 30 years in the medical field and law enforcement...They were planning on moving my mother to a 1 br /1 ba since my step-father will not be living there...My mom simply wants to be near her husband....I feel we were deceived by applying an incorrect assessment so we would sign the lease....that's a shame because people should ALWAYS come before profit...If you are considering Elmcroft I recommend reading ALL the reviews....not just the good ones...please consider carefully for your loved one....I know I will be making alternate decisions....by going back to the beginning....find a trustworthy place that can take care of both of my parents...not in the same room but at least in the same facility...God Bless!
December 2020
My family moved my mother into Elmcroft of Pinecrest December 2019 and the place was decorated beautifully. They had approximately 27 Christmas trees displayed throughout the place and a lot of Christmas festivities during that time. The staff has been very professional and is always available to talk through procedures. I worked with Jennifer for 5 months prior to making the decision and she was always helpful and continues to be that way today. Since the epidemic, it has been challenging for most Senior living facilities, however, what we witnessed, the Staff has gone above and beyond in keeping everyone secure and safe. Thank you again to all the staff at Elmcroft of Pinecrest.

Finding placement for an active elderly parent was not easy. My siblings and I did our homework and checked out numerous locations in Pinellas County. We were delighted when we found Pinecrest; as it offered everything that our mom desired. Our mom is a vivacious 78 year old who takes advantage of the variety of activities offered at Pinecrest. In addition, she looks forward to the daily meals and appreciates the opportunity to request specific dishes. We feel truly blessed that our mom was a resident at Pinecrest when the Pandemic broke out. She feels safe and is still receiving all of the Physical Therapy services required to keep her active state. Thank you so much to the Pinecrest staff for ensuring that our mom is safe and well taken care of in this time of uncertainty. This past year has been amazing for our mom and we look forward for many more to come.

My mom has been a resident at Pinecrest since November 2019. She is very happy there. I am most grateful for the diligent job everyone at Pinecrest has done to keep the residents safe during the C-19 Virus. The friendly staff has been very accommodating to moms needs and ours during this time. Her apartment is beautiful and she enjoys the food. I also look forward to sharing some dining experiences with her once it is safe to do so. The staff is also working hard at keeping the residents engaged and communicate daily while the quarantine has put some limitations on the activities. I am very grateful that she lives in Pinecrest !
May 2020
A truly wonderful place. My Mom came to live here in late February. Everyone made her feel so welcomed. She quickly became comfortable and excited about her new life here. She loved the dining room and the various activities going on. She also commented to me about how safe she feels here. When the lockdown from Covid19 occurred, we were concerned that she would feel so isolated. But the caring staff made sure to keep all the residents connected by organizing games via the TV. They also deliver the meals to each residents apartment. The staff is so warm and caring and the safety protocols to keep the residents safe during this health crisis has been extremely thorough. I afraid to think about what my Moms situation would have been if we hadnt made this move. She would have been in her house, alone, during this entire shutdown. I am very happy and grateful that we discovered Elmcroft of Pinecrest.
May 2020
My mother lives in the independent living section of Pinecrest. She feels well cared for which is extremely important to me, her son. Additionally, and especially now, she feels safe and protected. Pinecrest has done a phenomenal job keeping everyone protected from the COVID-19 virus and informed during an extremely difficult and scary time for residents of facilities like this. Cudos to the leadership there! My mother has also made good friends and enjoys her bible study and a host of other activities that are provided. The facility itself is clean and well maintained and has a guest suite right down the hall from mothers apartment which is extremely convenient and reasonably priced. I always try to stay there during my visits to see my mother and I hope that some day sooner than I currently expect that I can return there for another visit. Finally, the staff there is extremely kind, responsive and competent. I am very thankful that my mother is able to be there now but more importantly, that SHE is thankful to be there.

My mother has been at Pinecrest since October 2019. It is a great place. She loves the food and all the activities available for her. The weekly grocery trips are convenient since she is no longer driving. Since the Covid-19 outbreak they have done an outstanding job keeping my mom safe and taking all precautions to make sure she stays healthy. I am so happy for the care she is getting now and always. I know we made the right decision when looking for the perfect senior living place for her.
February 2020
My parents have lived at Elmcroft of Pinecrest for a little more than a year and absolutely love it. They have a beautiful, spacious apartment in Independent Living and they rave about the amenities, the kind staff, and numerous planned social events. My parents were warmly welcomed in a very organized way when they moved in, and they have made a long list of new friends from many corners of the world. We are ALL extremely happy to have found Elmcroft.
January 2020
My mom moved on in March when the pandemic started, her furniture was delayed. They gave her a guest suite until her furniture arrives to accommodate her, then went into lock down and still gave her the accommodations until her furniture can be moved in. As of today they have not had 1 person with the coronovirus (knock on wood). I am really looking forward to when they can do all their activities again, but, as I always tell my mom shess safe there.
May 2019
The staff are the most caring for their families with a beautiful setting for the residents to live in. Definitely the place for your family to enjoy life.

My father lived at Brookdale Pinecrest for about a year. He had a spinal injury and difficulty walking. Later we found he had Cancer. He really liked the staff and nurses at the facility. However, there were a few issues we had problems with; The cost of his care, since he actually needed assistance in an assisted living facility, immediately went from $4,200 base price to $6,700 - $6,900 per month. Two months after his move in I received a pharmacy bill for $2400. His pharmacy bills had never been over about $150 mo for the past 7 years. Turns out Brookdale has a contract with a pharmacy that guages customers who have not choice on which pharmacy to use. For example; he paid less than $6 for a bottle of Lactulose at CVS. They charged $40 per bottle. Even VITAMINS had to be bubble wrapped in individual servings. It was absolutely REDICULOUS! One of the staff spilled his urine bag on the carpet. They made no attempt to shampoo the carpets. His apartment reeked of urine for the remainder of his stay. The toilet was often found with feces all over the seat and sides of the bowl. He was unable to go by himself so there is no doubt staff saw the mess and failed to clean it. The floors in his were usually dirty. Cleaning of his apartment was very minimal. That fancy dining room......... not for assisted living. They had a plain run down dining room. When he transferred to nursing, we moved everything but a hospital bed frame. The staff told us it would be $140 fee for furniture left behind. The charged us $942 for a BED!! Since his bills were paid in advance, we did not pay the current bill. They had the audacity to charge a $250 late fee........ for someone who moved out! Since Freedom Square Seminole is owned by the same company and after 40 days since his passing we have yet to receive a $7,300 refund on his account. They are REALLY quick to charge a late fee but they sure take their time in refunding customer money. Overall, he liked the attention he got at Brookdale, but it is very apparent that money is their primary motivation. After reading about their pay scale for employees and how they avoid full time employees with benefits, it is understandable how they have so many issues.
