I can't say enough about Water's Edge of Lake Wales. I needed respite stay for my mom so that I could address her affairs here in Florida to prepare to move her to Kentucky. Rena was great, just like talking to someone from home. She was so helpful and made the process so easy. Janay was so kind when she came to do her assessment her and my mom talked like old friends. I went in early to set up my mom's room, and Cassandra was so pleasant made me feel at ease right away. Kristy in activities came often to encourage my mom to participate and that is such a intricate part to my moms well being. Brandi was so sweet and would cut up with my mom it was great to see them banter back and forth. Violene went out of her way to see to all of my mom's needs. Stacey and Kayla's caring and compassionate manner put me at ease and I know my mom appreciated their time with her. I KNOW I haven't mentioned everyone that was instrumental in my mom's stay but everyone from the food service staff to the maintance man painting the baseboards was so nice. Everyone acknowledged my mom and would smile and say hi to my mom, walking down the hall. I visited at different times during the day and was very impressed with my moms appearance, her room and the staff eager to tell me something she did or said that was funny that even made their day. To have the staff say they don't want my mom to leave that they want "to keep her" made my heart full. Oh how I wish this facility was in Ky near me I know she would become a permanent resident. So if you are in need of a place for your loved one THIS IS THE PLACE. I know I am a nurse and was a DON of a Nursing Home, no place is perfect and no one will take care of a family member like you would but Water's Edge is pretty damn close. Thank you so much I can't tell you how much you have assisted me in this very difficult time of major change for my mom, Just a godsend.

I am sharing this review as a community partner as well as a family that has had the pleasure of experiencing the wonderful staff at Water's Edge first hand. Both of my grandparents moved to the community about a year ago, and it was such a wonderful move. Throughout the passing of my Papa at 90yrs old, and leaving behind my Nana, his wife of 75 years, the entire team offered so much comfort and support to our family and to my Nana. The wellness director is incredibly thorough and maintains an open-door policy with her families, this is not always the case in communities. Missy, the community's sales director, is top notch. She serves potential residents and their families from a place of compassion and knowledge. She will ensure that your loved one has the best quality of care possible, holding her team accountable to the services she represents in the sales process. I couldn't be happier with my Nana being a resident at this community and highly recommend this community!

My 80 year old friend describes her living situation as good a 4 room suite at any fine hotel. The food is excellent and you get to eat with others, or not. It’s all about being independent but with help and watchful eyes. I hope to retire to this place one day, it’s beautiful and filled with retired professionals who have really lived nice lives. The gardens are beautiful and flowers plants everywhere. The pool is warm and clean and has a lift for handicapped/wheelchair. Shopping center with Publix is literally around the corner two blocks. This place has activities, happy hour, music, library, comfy lounges, card games, fitness!! The staff is very nice, the concierge desk is well trained and watchful. Everyone seems happy, chatty and friendly. Yes I WOULD place a parent or relative here at Waters Edge. I would love to live here. It reminds me of cruising with fancy food and organized activities, or simply wandering around admiring the decor, art, library, lounges with big butter soft leather chairs. Card rooms, auditorium with various entertainment and a butterfly show! Resort living. They clean the apartments once per week, if you have a single or a couple elderly parents that you are helping care for, consider this place. It is very nice and the price (considering nearly everything is included) is less than you think. Christina L. Friend of DD.

Staff was nice, clean office. However, I walked out with a hefty bill, no one came to me and went over prices and what insurance covered and what insurance didn't. While I loved the atmosphere, I probably won't return, I don't like feeling like just a dollar sign.

Overall, Waters Edge is amazing. However, today when I went in my moms room, there was feces on the outside of the toilet, and on the toilet seat as well as places on the floor in the bathroom and in the kitchen. I cleaned it up.

My parents lived at Waters Edge in Lake Wales for several years. They lived in independent living until my father passed, and my mother then moved to assisted living until she passed just recently. This facility is first class, a cross between a 5 star hotel and an upscale country club. The amenities are great, and the food and dining room leave nothing to be desired. Shortly before my mother passed, she needed so much care, we were afraid we would have to move her to a nursing home. But, after discussing her situation with Sheryl Stakebake (Head Nurse in assisted living) and Tim Davis (Marketing Director), they assured me they had the medical staff to continue to take care of her. They both said, "This is her home, she's staying here." I just can't say enough kind things about the entire staff and their leadership personnel. Finally, a shoutout of praise to Jasmine Fieldere at the reception desk, a ray of friendly sunlight that I talked to every other day. Kudos to this fine facility and everyone who works there! Wanted to share my our experience with my mother's care. Being 754 miles away is surely a rough situation to ensure Mother was taken care of. Folks the Staff are far above 5 stars and they love all the residents like its their family. They always were more than accommodating with my distance to ensure that mother was taken care of. She was very comfortable and pleased with her stay there. We came and got her and brought her back to TN where family lives and she still asks about Water's Edge. If you need some where for your family to be in their golden years I would recommend this facility for sure. Thanks Mike Vines

I am so thankful for the staff at Water's Edge. My parents have really enjoyed the safety and security this facility provides. It is truly like a family. From the Director to the housekeeper, each one goes out of their way to ensure a great experience. With weekly housekeeping, transportation, activities and a nice variety of menu options, they have maneuvered Covid well by screening visitors, providing safe visiting options, closed down the dining room and delivering meals to the rooms, and then opening the dining room with social distancing. I have been very impressed with the way they have handled the pandemic with the residents care and safety at the forefront. The receptionists and dining room servers treat my folks and all the residents as their own parents or grandparents. This is so rare and means so much to me. The facility is maintained beautifully and has some beautiful views over a lovely pond. I can highly recommend.

My father is now 98 and has had an Assisted Living apartment at Waters Edge since he was 94 and they treat him like a King. I could not imagine a better place to care for his needs and to allow him to age gracefully. Thanks to the caring and constantly innovative staff of Waters Edge and their parent company. They are constantly in search of a way to do better today than they did yesterday.

Water's Edge of Lake Wales is a LIFE SAVER for my Dad, JR! Dad weighed 101 lbs and continuing to loose weight when he moved to Water's Edge, but in just 2 weeks he weighed 110 lbs! The transition for Dad was easily made within the first week of living at Water's Edge. He is socializing with the residents and friendly staff! Enjoying meals with friends, watching ping pong games, attending events & activities, getting his hair cut, joins the guys for a game of pool, attends the Friday Happy Hours with all kinds of beverages, wonderful hor d'erves, and even chocolate fondue, watches movies & eating popcorn in their theater about 4 times a week, was honored as a Combat Veteran and enjoyed 4th of July celebrations, was chauffeured to his home 30 miles round trip to pick up a few things, the receptionists always greet him with a smile, remind him of events and help with any questions he may have in addition to ensuring he receives his calls and messages, and he also gets to FaceTime with friends and family - it's so wonderful to see my Dad and hear his voice! That is the "fun" part, let me share the peace I have knowing Dad is in a safe, clean environment, with cheerful, watchful and helpful staff, he has his own private apartment with a full kitchen and oversized bathroom, he has a medical alert device, nurses and doctor check on him 24/7, Management are completely supportive and maintain constant communication concerning my Dad's care program, Dad doesn't have to drive himself to appointments/hospital/emergency room and wait for care, his prescriptions are delivered to Water's Edge, they administer/monitor his prescription doses, assists with daily living activities, there is a security/monitoring system, he enjoys three hot meals (and usually 2 desserts!) prepared by a chef and served by a waitress, healthy snacks are always offered, daily transportation to the local stores, exercise equipment and programs, heated swimming pool, partnership with Pinnacle Home HealthCare and a rehabilitation center if needed, and so much more...But most important are the Water's Edge employees. They are professionals with caring hearts who give attention to detail and have a desire to serve their residents - 24/7! My Dad's life has been transformed by Water's Edge superior care and heartfelt love and attention. I will forever be grateful to Water's Edge for ensuring my Dad's Golden Years are the best possible. It looks pretty in the pictures and they will tell you what you want to hear. But when a family member is intentionally misled about the extent of freedom they can expect as a resident, it leads to resentment and fear for the resident and their family. How can you trust Water's Edge to provide sincere care for a loved one when there is evidence of misconduct and you fear the consequences that may follow if you report? How upset should one be when law enforcement is asked by a visitor to accompany them and check up on possible criminal activities regarding personal property? And all of this in the first month of residency. It matters not if family members do not see eye to eye--- what should be the first priority is the welfare of my father. A smooth transition may be difficult, but when lies are told and boundaries are crossed it makes it that much harder to trust those caretakers. Be warned, there is something not quite right about this place.
