When I first visited Merrill Gardens at Solivita Marketplace in October 2023, I quickly felt this was where I would be happiest. Now, nearly three years later, I can honestly say that I am not only happy with my choice”I am more active, engaged, and connected than I ever expected to be. When Jim Hooper became our General Manager in the spring of 2025, positive changes began almost immediately. Jim invited residents and their families to share what they liked, what could be improved, and what new opportunities they hoped to see. Most importantly, he listened. He and his team have worked hard to make meaningful changes while keeping residents involved along the way. Today, we enjoy a wonderful variety of weekly entertainment by local performers, expanded in-house activities, cultural programs, and large holiday celebrations. We also have more opportunities to use the community bus for shopping and special outings, including picnics at local parks, the Strawberry Festival, special shopping trips, and even a full-day casino cruise. We are also fortunate to have a caring and dedicated team that provides quality care services to residents who need assistance. Knowing that compassionate support is available when needed brings comfort and peace of mind to residents and our families. As with any community, residents do not always agree on every decision. However, differing opinions are welcomed, and conversations are handled respectfully. As President of the Resident Council, I appreciate having a management team that listens, communicates openly, and genuinely wants residents to enjoy life to the fullest. Merrill Gardens at Solivita Marketplace is more than the place where I live”it is my home, and I am proud to be part of this community. I highly recommend Merrill Gardens at Solivita Marketplace.

I've toured several senior living communities, including some that were much more expensive, but my visit to Merrill Gardens at Solivita Marketplace with Heidi left a lasting impression on me. I had visited once before several years ago, but this time was different. The community looked wonderful. The recent updates, fresh paint, and beautifully maintained common areas made it feel bright, cheerful, and welcoming. It felt more like a place where people choose to live and enjoy life and not somewhere old folks get put. What impressed me most were the residents. Everywhere I looked, people were talking, laughing, and enjoying one another's company. Several residents took the time to speak with me, and every one of them had positive things to say about living there. Their happiness seemed genuine, and that meant a great deal to me. Heidi was kind, patient, and answered all of my questions without making me feel rushed. She made what can be a difficult and emotional process much easier. I haven't made my final decision yet, but I can honestly say that Merrill Gardens jumped over my previous top picks. It felt less like a place I have to go and more like a community I'm excited to join.

2100+ mile move for my Step-Pa. Trust that he and I had much apprehension about assisted-living. We were impressed by the facility, friendly atmosphere, diverse activities calendar, the administrative team and auxiliary staff. Our spontaneous conversations with random residents and hearing their honest/positive opinions supported how we felt. Knowing we were not just looking at the now(step-pa independent) but the potential of needing more care in the future, Merrill Garden’s-Solivita checked our many boxes!! In working with a mutual patient at this facility, I received an outstanding review from a family member. How could I keep this to myself? It was noted, Marsha in memory care has transformed the memory care unit. She is attentive and kind, engaging and informative, and cares for the patients with great pride. Marsha has trained her staff in such a way that no one sits around, they’re all responsive and meeting the needs of the patients. The facility always smells amazing and looks and feels clean. I moved from Pennsylvania to the Florida area the year October 2024 and when I looked at the landscaping it was clean and well-kept. When I went in and met the receptionist, miss Patty she was very pleasant and after I took a tour with Heidi, she was very pleasant and it convinced me to move here. It’s an honor for me to write this review about Merrill Gardens Solivita Marketplace. if you’re looking for a new home for a family member, or if you retired, this is the place to come. They have activities every day or if you want to be by the pool or go shopping it’s available. There’s a nurse practitioner and a doctor once per week and also podiatrist is provided once a month. The staff in the kitchen and the waiters are very pleasant. The food has gotten better, however there is still a lot to be done. Housekeeping needs to be stepped up. They do a good job, but need more time. the new manager and his team are doing a wonderful job. They really try to please the residents in every way they can. Sometimes I think they go above and beyond, which is good. The care staff is very helpful and will assist in any way possible whether you are on service Independent or memory care they are there when called upon. The general manager is very sociable and polish and always there to assist anyone who needs it and always willing and take time with the residents, complaining, and deal with them appropriately. general manager, Jim Hooper I am very glad that you came aboard. You have made a great difference in a short period of time that you have been here. I personally think a lot of you and your family. Keep up the great work and At Merrill Gardens.

Fourth of July 2025 I found myself unexpectedly finding a senior living facility for my mom. A three day holiday turned into two weeks of exploring the unknown world of senior living. Heidi McIntee at MG is the absolute BEST! Professional, informative, friendly and compassionate. Heidi helped me navigate all the obstacles and road blocks to get my mom enrolled within two weeks. Always aware I needed to return home to PA asap. I often reach out to Heidi for various reasons regarding my mom. No matter what day or time of day (6am) Heidi is always available to help me. Thank you Heidi and MG staff for all you do for me and my mom. Also, I toured many facilities with my children’s support and MG is the best around.

Brayan the admissions manager was awesome. From my first call inquiring about moving my Mom from Massachusetts to Merrill Gardens Brayan was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. There were many questions and Brayan would respond right away even when he had the day off. He even answered my questions when he was on vacation. He goes above and beyond even now that Mom is a resident. Sometimes I still reach out to him and he is always prompt and pleasant to deal with. I highly recommend Merrill Gardens. Mom is very happy there.

We recently met with Brayan Antunez at Merrill Gardens, in Kissimmee. We had spoken on the phone before our visit. We were given a great tour of the facility, Brayans knowledge was so helpful. No matter what our questions were, he had an answer right away, we did not have wait for him to ask someone else or go look it up. We found the reality of his descriptions, to be very accurate. It is not easy to move a 90 year old parent to a new place, which will be his home now. From the moment I walked in unannounced meaning with no appointment, staff that does not typically deal with prospective tenants was willing to assist me with a tour and answer questions. From there, I felt a sense of community, support and understanding that has made the process with my dad almost stress free the staff there goes out of their way to help and support tenants and their family which has made a world of difference. I am speaking of salespeople, front desk servers nurse in medication management to maintenance. Thank you and kudos to ALL of you!

I was enticed to move here with a very nice reduced rate only to have an 11% increase on my year anniversary and another 11% increase again this year. The food is mediocre at best. There no such thing as 'flex meals' as stated in the ad. Some of the staff is very interested in your needs but they are stretched to the limits due to cutbacks in employees. Concerns that I have brought to the staff's attention and even to the home office go unanswered. Communication is a real concern between staff and residents. Elevators are a real problem . . . they break down often. If I were you looking for a place for a loved one, I'd keep other options open first. On the upside, the apartments are very nice. . . roomy with w/d in each unit and dishwasher. The pool in a plus. UPDATE : JULY 5TH, 2024 I wish I had something positive to say but that isn't possible. Out of 3 elevators that service the main building, 2 don't work. One has been out for 5 weeks and number 2 went down 3 days ago. Number 1 is in sad shape and we are waiting for it to die. When it does, I don't know what people will do about getting to and from the dining room or getting out for appointments. Food is going downhill . . . poor choices with minimal side dishes. Activities are so lame with few people attending. As soon as I'm able, financially, I will be leaving. I do not recommend this facility.

Our experience with Merrill Gardens has been better than we would have ever imagined. We feel so lucky to have found them! We were arriving from out of state so we were not able to tour the facility in person for our relative. The second we walked through the door, everyone welcomed us with smiles and positive words. Our cousin could not be happier. Great amenities, helpful staff and amazing culinary menu everyday! Not to mention extra care and attentive staff to help with everyday tasks which have become more difficult. Don't hesitate, make the call.

This is one of THE BEST senior living complex (Independent & Assisted Living with Memory Care Section) in the area. They offer the best rental price compared to many throughout the Orlando area. The General Mgr. and staff are very professional & caring. They also have an abundance of activities, and many amenities too. All of this is also evident through the residents' interactions with staff. Food and dining room is very good with great choices. Snacks are also observed in the lobby area for residents and guests. They also have a bistro area for snacks, coffees, teas and drinks. Activities Dept. is very active with staff and resident interaction. Facility is beautifully maintained. These are one of few Sr Living complexes that offer anytime dining between 8am-6pm for their residents (due to Covid, they close twice for 30 minutes for cleaning). We've done our research both in FL and GA with numerous locations before our brother moved here. He's happy, content, safe and secure here at Merrill Gardens of Solivita. He also mentioned that they have housekeeping that does light housekeeping in his apt.. He also appreciates the fact that there is an in house Dr. or P.A. that visits once a week, if in the event he needs to see a Dr or nurse. Plus he sees the in house Podiatrist that comes to the facility once every two months. We're so fortunate to have found a one bedroom apt w/washer and dryer here for my brother. He also commented that "It's like being on a cruise ship, without being on the water". On a personal note, I've worked in a skilled nursing facility in the past. I'm very familiar with State and Federal Rules and Regulations with licensed senior facilities. Merrill Gardens of Solivita is one of the best senior facilities in the area, and for all of the services provided, well worth the price. I also had one of my friends (retired Geriatric/Hospice Nurse of 40 yrs) visit my brother. She shared with my brother that she's dealt with many nursing & senior facilities. She also mentioned that Merrill Gardens is a very good place for seniors, and that he's very fortunate to have such a nice apt. That he's able to afford with his fixed income. HIGHLY RECOMMEND Merrill Gardens of Solivita. Just can say enough good things about this place and their amazing staff.

My name is Joanne Jones. I have a little furry pet named Abby. I have been here for a year now. You will not find a better place for your loved one to live. Everything your loved one would or will need is right here. The staff is very courteous and very helpful.!There is bus transportation which in my opinion is extremely helpful to have. I have a 1 bedroom apartment with a den, a full size kitchen with a microwave, lots of living space and a built in washer and dryer which is very convenient. There is so many other amenities that you will find here. The dining is wonderful with lots of menu options to choose from. Plenty of activities are offered on a daily basis in a beautifully laid out activity room. They offer entertainment, game night so you will never feel alone. The other residents here I have found very friendly and helpful also.

Five-star rating. We have been here for six months and LOVE it. Our apartment is lovely and has everything that we wanted. The Lanai is special as I have my orchids out there and they are blooming or ready to bloom. The restaurant is beautiful with long red drapes. The service is friendly and willing to do or get anything for you. The food is five-star also. All 3 meals are the best with a large variety of different foods. Snacks are available as well. They have monthly entertainers come in to be enjoyed by us. We have a swimming pool an activity room with many games to play. The theater has different movies with popcorn at times.

The staff are great. Med Techs are prompt and friendly. Apartment size is very nice in the two bedroom. Plenty of activities available. Transportation for grocery shopping and medical appointments are weekly. The reason for my low score, housekeeping didn't show up till we had been here almost right weeks. It took talking about it to management twice. This was after talking to one of the actual housekeepers. Food is the other disappointment. When we researched moving here they showed a great menu and said they had a five star chef. The chef is accredited but not a five star. The food is not as advertised. Breakfast is only the choice of cold cereal, oatmeal, usually scrambled eggs. No option to choose a different type of breakfast. Lunch has several choices besides the entrees of the day, however it is extremely limited.Dinner is ridiculous most weeks we have the same entree twice. There is only a choice of dinner side salad,sandwiches or the one entree. Not as advertised,

They offer several activites for the Residents, including dining, craft making, Library & small Theater. The apartments are comfortable & somewhat spacious. I highly recommend speaking w/ them if you're looking for quality care at a reasonable price.

My Mother lived at Volterra and I was there constantly so I saw everything and how the staff interacted with all the residents. All I can say is my husband and I would love to live there one day too! It is absolutely gorgeous inside! Oh my goodness you have to see it first hand to really understand how beautiful this place truly is. The food is top notch 5 star quality! Now for the staff review.....These are the most patient and loving and understanding people I have ever come across. You just want to hug them all!!!! There are 2 women there named Melissa and Kelly that believe me go so far above and beyond the call of duty it is crazy! These women are both Heaven sent!
