Having worked in the Senior Industry for over 25 years, I can say that I have seen it all. Until now. San Jose Gardens is unique in that it ONLY does Memory Care. The staff all specialize in behaviors and management of those with dementia. There is no sharing of staff from Assisted Living to Memory Care. You work with the same caregivers and nurses who know the residents, their likes, their dislikes, their moods, temperaments, etc. It is no surprise that when I got here, I saw happy residents that came from communities that did not take the time or have the knowledge to manage them. I cant begin to tell everyone that has a loved one with Dementia-Alzheimers how important it is to do a lot research before placing them in a facility! Unfortunately, because of my husbands circumstances, my hands were tied and I placed him in a facility that would except him, especially with COVID-19! Make sure that they are skilled enough to deal with all of the situations involved in this horrible disease! He has been at San Jose Gardens since October and I cant believe how well he is doing! The staff is more than equipped to deal with most all situations! I wish I would have had the option of doing research beforehand. San Jose Gardens would have been my choice hands down! I feel he is being looked after and it has taken so much stress off of me! Please do your research and definitely look into San Jose Gardens before making one of the most important decisions you will ever make in your life! Ruth D. Nelson

Mom was a resident at San Jose Gardens for a little over 4 years. We chose San Jose after researching several homes for people with dementia. My sisters and I went to the open house before they opened, and thought what a lovely place. Our mother had dementia and our dad was taking care of her. We were hoping they could both move in; however, just a couple of weeks later our dad passed away unexpectedly. Realizing we could not take care of mom and keep her happy and active we moved her in to San Jose Gardens. Mom was very happy there for four years. She loved everyone on the staff, as did we. They make it feel like home (since it is the residents final home). Mom has recently passed away, but we are so thankful for the love and care given to her during her time at San Jose Gardens. We felt comfortable that mom was being taken care of. What a blessing the staff at San Jose Gardens has been to our family.

When dad and I chose this facility it was because we felt they would give quality care and support while dealing with dementia. My father has recently passed and I cannot thank the staff enough for the gentle care and compassion that was given to my dad. I highly recommend this facility and its staff.
