My 92 year old father has been a resident at Highlands Place for 2.5 years now. The staff is kind, caring, respectful and patient. There are lots activities for people and effort is made to have different events throughout the year. You get to know the other residents and their families when you visit. The meals are varied and residents are given a choice of things if they don't care for the day's entree. A home like environment is fostered and the direct care staff is outstanding.

Please think twice before sending your loved one here. Please check other facilities. Not everything is at it seems and looks can be deceiving. 1. I came in to find that my mother had no access to water and the tray was pushed up against her closet door. She was very dehydrated when I got there. Water deprivation is never acceptable. If someone had been checking on her regularly as I was told, this would have been caught and her tray placed in the right area. 2. Poor diet. Corn, tacos, pasta, heavy gravies on top of dry meat, stuffing, pizza, lasagna, sugar laden desserts etc. No organic provided and I never saw fresh fruit available. " Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food". Hippocrates. 3. I have pictures of fecal remnants and urine on my mom's toilet seat and in the bowl. It was not cleaned or flushed and I had to clean it up when I got to her room. This happened frequently. There is MUCH MUCH more. Please think twice going here.

My mother is 92 years old with dementia and macular degeneration. Three weeks ago we began investigating an assisted living place for her. She was receiving physical therapy from Pinnacle Home Health Care at the time. We live literally two minutes from Highland Place. I asked the supervisor from Pinnacle if she knew of Highland Place. She told me was just there that morning and it was the best place where Pinnacle worked with clients. So, we visited and my mother was positive about moving in. Two weeks ago she moved in under level two care for her conditions. I visit her everyday and attend activities with her (there are activities every day of the week, that she can attend voluntarily). She is always clean and well cared for. On Sundays they have her ready at 8am for me to pick up and take to church. My mother uses a walker everywhere and she has gotten stronger from having to walk greater distances than she did at our house. Her nursing and medication needs are done well. The food service is excellent. I have almost learned all residents and staff names. The residents are cheerful and the staff is caring. I gave a five star rating and am very happy with my mother's care. I recommend Highland Place!

We came to visit my husbands mentor and we were very impressed how kind and caring the staff treated the residence. It was very clean and the food looked very good. I like the ideal that they gave them choices for meals if they didn’t like what they were serving. they seem to have lots of activities and things going on for the residence to do. We came at Christmas Time and it was decorated very pretty. I felt like he was in a very safe place and well taken care. Thank you for all the care and love and respect you give to these residents.

The staff here are always very nice and welcoming! Highland place hosts community Blood Drives with Oneblood regularly, supporting the local hospitals! Thank you Highland Place!

Mom has been here three years and recently celebrated her 100th birthday. She is well looked after by a truly dedicated and compassionate staff; all of whom are very accommodating not only to mom but the family as well.

I came in to do a tour and Highland Place is beautiful. The butterfly garden is neat and I love it. There’s a full calendar of activities and residents look happy and well taken care of. Staff were very nice and helpful.

I came here rather suddenly and without much planning because I was not safe being alone in my home. I found the staff to be very accommodating and caring. It's a beautiful building; it's as clean as a whistle and the food is delicious and there is plenty of it! Everything is done for me and I don't have to worry about anything. I am so grateful that I made this choice!

This is a lovely place. They seem to really care about the people who live there. My mom and I went on a tour to see if she liked it and she really loved it. We joined the residents for lunch and the food was great. That’s really important to my mom. The activities sound great. There was a butterfly release a few weeks ago which sounded fun. Everyone seemed happy, and the employees seemed involved and friendly. My mom knows that this is the number one place she wants to move into, and she’s incredibly picky.

My mother is a resident at Highland Place. She has become involved in activities, made friends with other residents, enjoys the food and realizes this is the best place for her. She loves the staff and we are grateful that their care and her socialization has made a huge difference in her life. Highland Place in Inverness is a very friendly, loving and professional senior living facility. Your family member will feel welcome and safe from the first day they move in. Everyone looks out for each other whether they are a resident or staff member. My Mother is 94 years old and she is able to be very active by attending the exercise/memory/singing class every morning as well as various other activities. She has Macular Degeneration which has taken just about all her eyesight. Highland Place went above and beyond so she can participate in some of the activities. For example, they found Bingo cards that are very large so she can play bingo and sometimes win! We cannot say enough wonderful things about Highland Place and their magnificent staff.
