Calusa Harbor is a one of a kind very special place! My father lived there for over 5 years. They nicknamed him Uncle Phil! He was treated with dignity and respect. They have a great staff. When my dad needed more care at 95 they were very compassionate and didn’t rush us out. I highly recommend Calusa Harbor because they care about everyone who lives there and treat everyone well!

My aunt was initially hesitant about making the move, but after touring the community, seeing the beautifully decorated patriotic model for the Fourth of July, and meeting some of the residents, she's now completely on board. Coming from a military family, she was especially delighted to learn that they offer a military discount. We're looking forward to watching the fireworks there and choosing her new apartment. The welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff made all the difference, and we're excited for this next chapter!

My past experience has not been favorable to this ALF, and it is mainly due to management. Also the fact that they are changing their license to STANDARD which means less services and care being offered. Before you place loved ones here research the owners and Sinceri management. Kudos to the direct care givers and dining room staff because the were all kind and great, unfortunately working under less than optimal management .

My husband and I toured Calusa Harbour to see what our options might be when and if we need assisted living. I couldn’t believe it! I have looked at other establishments for my Mom and was pleasantly surprised that we might be able to live in a community that is in a beautiful setting, common areas that are welcoming and comfortable, offer several floor plan options, have caring and supportive staff to look after our needs, and meals that are actually delicious! All of these things are provided within an extremely reasonable price range. Thank you Liz for showcasing Calusa Harbour. We see no need to look at other options because Calusa Harbour is the best!

All of our needs as aging seniors are taken care of on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. We moved my father in law I to Calusa Harbor in March 2025. We met with Olga who did an excellent job explaining everything that goes on and activities to get involved in. As soon as he moved in he was befriended by everyone. Not only was he befriended but he also found a new love that he is spending the rest of his life with. He has companionship and is so happy after a bit of a struggle convincing him that it is a great place. It’s all inclusive and has everything he needs. He is extremely happy and was the best move for him after a long time of trying to help him understand all the benefits of being there. He wish he had done it sooner!

My parents are currently residents here and it truly feels like home. The staff, all of the staff, is incredibly kind and patient, especially, Liz. Calusa Harbour has a wonderful location on the river and near downtown shops, resources and events. It has an upbeat, pleasant, residence-centered atmosphere. The environment is vibrant and lively, with lots of activities and amenities focused on active participation that cater to a range of different interests. One thing our family particularly appreciates is the close and proactive attention paid to the needs of individual residents' health issues and quality of life. The staff cares about the community and responds effectively. For example, when a family member's AC/heating unit recently needed attention, the staff were quick to respond and correct the problem. We appreciate Calusa Harbour very much!

I went to calusa harbour today on a whim. I didn’t tour because they don’t have a secure memory care and they referred me to their sister community. What they DID have was Caring staff. On my way out, a resident tripped and fell and the scene wasn’t pretty. The sales team came to the rescue, the actual sales people were comforting the man that fell and keeping him alert until emergency services came. They immediately went into triage emergency mode. I’ve worked in healthcare a long time and they handled that situation beautifully; they knew exactly what to do and I was amazed at their diligence and how it was handled. If you have a loved one looking for a good place, look no further.

Calusa Harbour has many activities for all of the residents, to include a General Store, swimming pool, theatre floor, volleyball and is directly on the Caloosahatchee River. The deli and restaurant provide excellent service and food. The best is the caring, genuine staff that assist with everything !

Moved in June 12th! Love everything about Calusa Harbour downtown Fort Myers including my waterview. All utilities, cable and internet included in rent. Rent covers a lot and includes 2 meals a day in Independent Living. Good food. Rent Includes Housekeeping once a week includes changing and washing sheets. Weekly laundry only 1.00 a pound I put out in hall Wed nite laundry returned wash, folded, hangers if you want. Rent includes Concergie services. Rent includes transportation services. Rent includes maintenance services! Doordash and Walmart deliver groceries and package goods to my door! I pay 25.00 a mo for a reserved parking space. The men and women who work here treat you like family. I am living the life!

I am writing on behalf of my elderly mom who lives here in independent living. The staff are very responsive. The place is clean and well-kept. They did a great job at responding to the needs of their residents during Hurricane Ian by coordinating alternate residences for them. The outcome was an announcement that should another cataclysmic event like Ian occur, residents were going to be on their own to find alternate living accommodations. Understandable from a landlord's perspective. Since first moving into Calusa, the food situation has changed drastically. It is owned by a group that calls itself "Five Star" but the food is not to those standards. Originally, back in 2018, residents had quite a variety of food choices--a great selling point for finicky seniors. However, that changed, first with COVID when the institution had to shift to delivering meals to each room. After COVID, the menu variety never improved. After Ian, things seemed to worsen. Now that occupation and staffing have returned nearly to normal, one would expect a return to the previous high-quality meals and broad choices--but it has not, will likely not return despite large increases in rent. My mother was not the best cook in her day, but when she says that she could do better cooking than the kitchen staff, that says a lot. My wife and I were considering selling and moving to Calusa when we got too old to care for our home, but we have become convinced that we are better looking elsewhere when our time comes. As for Mom, we'll have to search out real options that will not leave her homeless after the next storm.

My mother and father moved in to Calusa around 6 years ago and have had great experiences with staff, leisure activities and overall feeling at home. Dad passed away 3 years ago and mom moved in to Assisted Living. While it has been an adjustment for her, I have found that many staff members will get to know and understand my mom from a personal level which helps build the trust and makes her feel like the staff genuinely cares and not just part of their job description.

I called calusa harbour today and spoke w their sales director, I’ve been trying to find a place for my uncle who has restricted income. Unlike the other 8 places I called, she took the time to give me resources, and helpful information even though he would not be able to move into their beautiful community. It’s professionals and places like this that should be appreciated. I finally found him a place, after just a 4 minute phone call with her. Thank you !! I will be sending them business for sure, the person I know that resides in their building loves it and I can understand why.

My mom just celebrated her four year anniversary as a resident at Calusa Harbor. She started out in Independent Living and moved to Assisted Living when her health declined and needed more help. She is happy, healthy and safe, in a warm and kind environment. I visit her several times a week. I can say that the staff is really wonderful. The riverside restaurant is always first rate. They have more activities and amenities than she could possibly take advantage of. I could never ever have been able to provide her with better care on my own. I am grateful to all of the people working at Calusa Harbor.

I must say that since the new Director Jim was hired things have been better. Still some major communication problems. If you choose Calusa Harbour for your loved one, please know that you must keep up with what goes on there. It's not enough to just let them take care of your loved one from afar. Still not the 5 star residence they say it is but it takes time to implement all the changes needed. Since my last review my family has hired Annalee from CareRight! It really helps if someone not connected to the family comes in and understands your concerns. They seem to listen to someone that has many clients she can refer their place too. After posting the review here that I just edited, my concerns were finally addressed. Although the billing person Aimee in Skilled Nursing lied to Annalee about not knowing whom to send the bill too. I had talked to her so many times and even talked to their collections on where to send it. I hope now things will be straightened up there too. They need to understand that snail mail is not the way to go these days. Copies should always be sent by email to the payee.

I have known residents of Calusa Harbor and have had professional relationships with employees for many years. The residents are happy and social and make friends easily. The staff are caring and kind. Many times I walk into Calusa Harbor to see many residents and staff interacting, smiling, and laughing. Besides all of the wonderful observations above you truly can’t get a better view than the views at Calusa Harbor. My impression of Calusa Harbor is that it’s for all types of people and serve many levels of care for people in a dignified, caring approach. They for sure get a 5 star rating from everything I see and observe each and every time I am there!

Calusa Harbor offers independent living for seniors in a beautiful high-rise on the river in downtown Ft. Myers. There are all types of social activities and events going on so you don't have time to be bored. They have a great restaurant and coffee and snack bar in addition to other activities I don't even know about. When a senior begins to need more assistance than home health can provide, Calusa Harbor has a beautiful section of the building dedicated to assisted living. The care is bar none, the food is excellent, and their are plenty of activities to keep someone busy. The area is also aesthetically appealing as well. After a senior has been in the assisted living awhile, if they have declined physically and need additional care, they can move into the 60 unit skilled facility also in the same building. Here, one will receive excellent nursing care 24/7 in addition to gentle, loving care from devoted CNA'S. Calusa Harbor is THE place for active senior living in a beautiful environment.

My parents were very against leaving their home of 45 years. The sales team was impressive because their efforts were genuine in helping my parents make a decision they wanted to make on their own. Their transition was made so easy even during the renovations going on at their property; it looks stunning. It's been months now and they finally disclosed to me it was the best decision to make the move. The resident that was designated to show them around after move in is now a close friend that has dinner with them every night!! I'm so grateful to know they are enjoying themselves at their new riverfront apartment. If you are looking to place someone you love in senior living go and check them out. My Mom had a bad fall that resulted in her needing a walker. She was no longer able to maneuver the stairs to her home. She had lost her independence and was virtually held hostage in her house. She could not go to the club house, beauty salon, the bank, stores or even out to the curb to take out her garbage or get her mail. I had also lost my independence as her daughter, as it was necessary for me to be a caregiver daily to provide her even the simplest of needs. When I initially entered Calusa Harbour I was crying fearing I was going to have to place my Mom in a facility that would be cold, institutional, unfriendly, cost prohibitive, and gloomy. After meeting with the Dir. of Community Relations Manager Martha Davila, I left crying in relief feeling I would be bringing my Mom to a facility that was, safe, clean, affordable, friendly and a place where my Mom would be independent enough to come and go freely from her apartment. Prior to Calusa my Mom’s day consisted of getting up, making coffee and cereal, washing up and the rest of the day was spent with Dr. Phil, The View, Wendy William and Judge Judy. She had no interaction with other people her own age, she only had me. She waited for me to make lunch, bring in the mail, take out the trash, go food shopping and the bank. She no longer wanted to go to the Club House for Bingo or any activities because she felt guilty because she didn’t want to inconvenience me. I also worried daily that she might fall or an emergency would happen and she would not have someone to help her when I was not around. Now Mom’s day consists of getting up and looking out the window to a view of the Calusahattee River, then down the elevator for a continental breakfast, a 5 star Lunch or Dinner. She gets her own mail, socializes with the other residents, loves happy hour, Bingo, Brain Games, Word-o-thon, Ice Cream Social, Popcorn social, music appreciation, and movie night. She goes to the in house library daily to get her crossword puzzle and cryptogram. She has had a pedicure in the Beauty Salon, and shops at the County Store a couple of times week. She strolls the Florida room for a breath of fresh air and can walk down by the outside gazeebo on nice days. She now has access to Banking, Shopping, Church and the library via the free Shuttle Van transportation. My Mom signed up for the Life Alert system Calusa Harbor has so she is just a press of a button away 24/ 7 from having emergency attention. And I am happy to know she is in a facility that provides 24 hour security not to mention the daily resident checks done by the safety staff. She also has the housekeeping service weekly that vacuums, cleans, changes her sheets and removes trash weekly. And when I come to visit, with my dog, as Calusa Harbor is pet friendly, my time visiting is to socialize not to be a caregiver. We now have our Mother / Daughter relationship back.
