Savannah Grand was like coming home to a family that you didn't know you had. I have enjoyed every moment and every interaction. The staff are caring and loving and the residents are involved in activities all day long. They are batting 1000.

My mother was a resident at Savannah Grand for 3 months from December through February of 2023. I had to move her out because they couldn't provide the medical care that she needed. There is not a medical nurse on staff and this was a big problem since she is diabetic. The director stated that they could meet her needs but she didn't follow through and made promises that she could take care of checking her blood sugar levels but I saw no record of this being done. When I had issues and needed to talk to someone I was unable to reach anyone, very poor communication. When I told the director we were moving my mother out we talked to the director and she said we were all paid up and check out. A month later I got a bill from them and when I tried to talk to someone about this bill no one ever returned my calls. Another month later I was served for a court appearance because of money they said I owed. I hired a lawyer and this case dragged and I decided to settle and pay half of the amount which I thought was very unfair to my mother. To add to this nightmare Savannah grand did not send invoices to her long term care insurance during the time she was there. I refused to pay anything until these invoices were sent in. I would not recommend this facility to anyone looking for care for their family.

Savannah Grand is truly a hidden gem. Securely tucked away off Sadler only a minute from the beach. I personally love the open layout of the building; creating a warm welcoming environment for residents to join in festivities. Most of the staff have been there for 5+ years so the building is run extremely well.

My mother lived there a little over a year. Many of the staff members were very patient and kind. However, the mismanagement of medication cannot be ignored. My mother was not given her medication for 3 days and went into withdrawl resulting in a trip to the ER. They have to evacuate during possible hurricane activity. This was a huge mess. I heard numerous residents complain of sleeping on cots. The food was of poor nutritional value. I visited very regularly and saw many portion sizes that were extremely small and the quality was terrible.The carpeting was in need of replacement. But mostly it was the dishonesty of the administrator that made me move mom to a new place. So glad I did! Stay away from here and demand better for your loved one!

My aunt has been a resident at Savannah Grand for over a year now. One thing that I love about Savannah Grand is that it is like one big family! She was a school teacher in Nassau County for 45+ years and now her students are some of her caregivers. It's absolutely the sweetest thing ever. It means so much to us knowing she's getting the best care.

My mother-in-law is a resident at Savannah Grand. I have been so impressed with SG since she moved in there a year and a half ago! The staff are friendly and super attentive to the needs of the residents and their families. There are a number of activities for the residents, and the special events (there are several!) are imaginatively and wonderfully planned, and SO much fun to attend! The meals there are delicious and healthy. Savannah Grand has been a great home for my mother-in-law!

Too bad there isn't a choice of 4.8 stars, as Savannah Grand would certainly deserve it. We selected SG as the staff was friendly and helpful. The food was very good and the physical location was terrific. The facility is close to the beach, shopping, medical and all essentials needed by the residents. Other residents are friendly, not cliquish and the staff does it best to make everyone welcome. It is a smaller facility and was not overwhelming to mom after living in her own home for so many years. Mom enjoyed playing the piano there but was not interested in other types of activities, but her apartment was nice, clean, close to the dining room and piano and she had a view to the Spanish moss-covered oak trees in back.

Savannah Grand is a cozy, safe and fun place for the care of a loved one. The residents and staff are super sweet and there is almost always something to do. The rooms are light and bright and always clean. I love watching family members sit comfortably on a couch with their mom or dad as if they were home. This place was a surprise to us, a very nice surprise. It started with Britny showing us around and assuring us everything would be okay and now it's about so many others we interact with so often. We are grateful.

I was looking for a home for both of my parents and had a few requests for specific things, like access to an outside patio from their room. Savannah Grand was incredibly accommodating! This community is spacious with beautiful and quiet surroundings. The staff were so kind and genuine and made me feel immediately comfortable as well. I have worked in healthcare for many years, including senior services, and have toured a large amount of Assisted Living communities so I knew exactly what to look for and ask. To sum it up, Savannah Grand was willing to accommodate my parent's needs and their customer service was stellar! Savannah Grand of Amelia Island is the Very BEST Assisted Living Facility anywhere. My parents moved in during 2017 and they have been very happy and extremely well cared for. My Dad passed in 2019 and my Mom is doing fine. The staff is personal and everyone is treated like family. SG has been extremely careful and safe during this pandemic which has resulted in high marks and healthy residents. Savannah Grand is Terrific!

Although I have not had the opportunity to have a family member reside at this location, I have been there many times due to my experiences visiting and volunteering. The facility is pleasant, clean, and homey. The staff and administration clearly care for the residents, as I have observed many meaningful interactions with them. As primary decision-maker for my mother, who needed different levels of care for over 14 years (living outside of Atlanta), I have observed quite a few facilities and a wide range of quality of care.

My grandmother moved into Savannah Grand about six months ago and had a truly terrible experience. The food was lacking in nutritional value and consisted largely of canned soups and fried chicken or fish. The administrative staff informed my family that the meals would return to their previous, higher standards as soon as a new chef was hired; however, the meals continued to be subpar for weeks. Individual loads of laundry for each resident were advertised by Savannah Grand and included as a service in the $5,000 monthly rental fee my grandmother paid while living there. However, shortly after my grandmother moved out (after two months of living at Savannah Grand) I noticed her room number had been written in permanent sharpie marker on one of her pillow cases and on numerous clothing tags. This nearly brought me to tears, as clearly there would be no need for the laundry personnel to write her room number on her clothing and bedding if they were truly doing individual loads of laundry for each resident. It hurts my heart to think that the residents there are being falsely advertised to, and that, in cases such as my grandmother, reduced to being identified by their room number solely for the convenience of the staff members working there. Every resident there should be treated with respect and made to feel appreciated and valued, and that is not the kind of treatment I observed during the two months my grandmother lived there before we moved her to another assisted living facility.

Although I personally do not have a connection to a resident at Savannah Grand, it is obvious even to an unbiased third-party like myself that the staff go above and beyond to care for their residents. Savannah Grand formed a partnership with the non-profit I work for, not out of necessity or for fundraising, but because they want to give the opportunity for all of their residents to feel as though they are part of a community. Through our partnership, I had the pleasure of meeting some of Savannah Grand's residents and watching their staff in action. The staff always reacted with professionalism, patience, and kindness. They continually provide a warm atmosphere, full of fun activities and an environment that encourages a well-rounded life. Not only is it welcoming, but the staff takes in every consideration to make sure their residents are safe, accommodated, well cared for, and that their privacy is respected.
