If I could rate this facility as a 10 it would not be high enough! Needing to get appropriate assistance for my husband of 50 years I chose this residence! The staff has been phenomenal. I was walked through every step of this transition with support I needed. I am relieved that my husband is receiving services that I alone could no longer provide. From the administration to every member of staff I feel relieved that the care provided is extraordinary. On the first day he was engaging in conversation with others! How wonderful!

We cannot say enough good things about this assisted living facility and the incredible people who work there. From the very beginning, they were instrumental in helping our family navigate the difficult transition from independent living to assisted care. During what could have been an overwhelming time, they made everything feel manageable, guided, and supported. They even went above and beyond by arranging transportation and personally picking him up from a nursing home over an hour away, something we will never forget. What truly sets this place apart is the level of compassion and communication. The staff stays in constant contact, keeping our family informed and reassured. Every interaction reflects genuine empathy, kindness, and patience, not just as part of their job, but as who they are. The quality of care is exceptional, and it shows in every detail, including the food, which is amazing. More importantly, the people here are amazing. They treat residents with dignity and warmth, and that means everything to our family. We are deeply grateful and would highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for a place where their loved one will truly be cared for.

I called about a tour and I was told anytime would be fine, so I just dropped in one afternoon. Jenny was informative and let me take photos of the schedule and the areas where there weren't any residents. The standard rooms are very large with a kitchenette in every room including a small refrigerator/freezer and a small microwave. Plenty of room for at least a full-size bed, recliner, dresser, and a small table with chairs. The bathroom was large with a walkin shower. The whole place was cheerful and sunny, and I was able to speak with various staff. Maria met me after her weekly meeting with the residents and I heard residents joking and laughing. You can tell they truly enjoy living at Sodalis! Maria was so sweetvwhile explaining all the details and pricing and madevsure i had her cell so i could text or call her with any questions- which i did after i got home. Christina is the Activities Manager and she keeps everyone engaged and excited about upcoming events. The physical therapy department keep residents busy and moving with so many fun activities- just check out the Sodalis Facebook page! This is a great place for my mom and I hope she'll move here soon- she'll love it!

Each year this location provides a wonderful Halloween experience for our students. The director is gracious and inviting each year. The facility is clean and welcoming. The residents are kind and generous with compliments and candy. Our prek center loves this event. What a wonderful community event.

We’ve toured this facility twice. The second time we took our mother. Maria Whitehurst was so informative and very helpful. When touring with our mother we met so many friendly residents who seemed eager for our mom to join them. The facility is beautiful and so very clean with a wonderful (non nursing home) smell. No odor of urine or disinfectant noted. We’re all so excited for our mom to join this community in her beautiful courtyard view room.

While our uncle didn’t reside at Sodalis House very long, we can’t express enough gratitude to the excellent staff for his care. The entire staff has such patience and puts effort into getting individuals involved in activities and adjusting to each resident’s unique needs. Sodalis Senior Living in Defuniak Springs has staff who are sunny, smart, and service-oriented. I’ve been there at many different times during a week, and the employees are kind and knowledgeable about their work. Their focus is on residents’ emotional and physical health. Since the new company has came back I have the community service with them and it has been great the staff are nice the residents are awesome. It doesn’t feel like I’m working it feels like I’m coming to have fun and get community service. Extended family is how the treat not only the residence but their families. Ms. Jolinda is amazing at connecting and knowing all her residence. She hires a great bunch of folks who treat everyone like their own grandparents. They are a true blessing to anyone with a family member needing care.

This is a nice assisted living facility. Any time I have gone in it is always clean, the residents look happy and we'll cared for unlike some of the other elderly care facilities in this area. And they allow the schools to join them for community service projects with supervision from the staff.
