I travel from AL to AL as a caregiver, and I can say Beckett Lake is one of the best places for your senior loved one to reside. George the executive director has done an outstanding job since taking the role as executive director. All the staff that I've encountered have presented themselves as very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. Their activity director Christine is lovely, she has plenty of activities and events, that are well thought out to keep everyone busy. Dee at the front desk is a gem! And last but not least the food is good, you will never leave hungry.

Initially they were very attentive and compassionate to my mother and this was at the height of covid. They understood that she was adjusting to her new life in an ALF. Flash forward approximately 7 months and it changed significantly. They dropped the ball on an upper respiratory that my mother had. I texted George the ED to let him know that she sounded pretty bad. He never responded. I spoke with the nurse Michael who assured me they had an xray tech coming in later that day. The xray tech never came and my mom was found unresponsive the next morning. The ER Dr called me and told me to prepare myself as she was on 100% oxygen. She survived but never fully recovered physically. They did take her back after assessing her from rehab but she was treated horribly, they threatened eviction because she was pressing the call button too often. When she called me in distress, the condition I found her in was horrific and I called 911 and gave our 30 day notice. It was when I came to gather some of her belongings that I found that her nightstand drawers were INFESTED with german cockroaches. I requested they spray as I didn't want them to come with her to her new room, they said they would. I came back a week later armed with spray and there were literally HUNDREDS of them in the nightstand. I had made George aware of a roach issue when I saw them crawling up the walls in her bathroom back in August and he said he would have her room sprayed but blamed them on my mother's "behavior" eating in her room which is ridiculous. I can only imagine what the kitchen must look like. My friends mother had the same issue with infestation. This place is really more suitable for independent living and not assisted. They sell you on "age in place" upon the first meeting, not so. My mother is no longer eligible for an alf and has to be placed in a nursing home. They also tossed out some of her belongings prior to the 30 days even though I told them via email I would be coming to get them and what day. I asked since they took possession of the room prior to the 30 days if I would be receiving a credit and of course, no response.

My mother has lived her for almost a year and it was the best decision she could have made. The care and attention she receives here far surpasses what she was able to receive at home. We dont worry about her safety anymore and she has made some great friends to play Mahjong with. My sister and I feel such relief knowing she is happy and thriving.

The Colonnade at Beckett lake is a beautiful community to start with. Lauren the executive director and staff are very professional, and helpful. Every time Im at the community residents look happy, and are engaging with each other or activities. I Definitely would say this community is thriving!

This assisted living facility has been amazing for my family member!!! Ashley is always cheerful and welcoming when you enter the building. Juan and Tom are always willing to give a helping hand!! The aides are always helping each other as it should be! There is always some kind of activity going on!! I am so happy that my family member found this place and its always bright and cheerful and clean!! And thanks for to Joey the food is good also!! The whole staff is wonderful!!!

I have been a resident here for five years and it feels like home. I enjoy the staff as they are all personable. My favorite activities are balloon volleyball and our B-Fit exercise group. I really enjoy the food, which is VERY important! Housekeeping is very good as well.

My dad has lived her for 2 years and absolutely loves it! He is still very independent and stays involved in all the activities. He went out on a fishing trip with the other residents a few months ago that he is still talking about it! Everyone at Beckett Lake seems to truly care about his well being and I am so happy to have the peace of mind that he is safe and won't have to move again.

My aunt has lived here for just under a year. The staff and other residents have been so welcoming and helpful. The monthly themed family nights are something we always look forward to. The care that my aunt receives is amazing and the true compassion of the staff is something you cannot find anywhere else! My mother has been at Brookdale for 4 months and is happy , thriving , busy all the time and the staff is amazing ! I can feel secure and sleep at night knowing she is being well taken care of ! They are great at informing you of any issues and needs and also really get personal with the patient on a one on one basis ! My Mom is so dear to me and I would have looked for other options if I thought necessary but she us happy and so am I !!

This is a great place to live. Age does not matter. I don't really care what the ages are for all of the people here as long as they are friendly and most are very friendly. I have a tuxedo cat who loves "her" porch and wants to be there all day. Sometimes I'm allowed to sit with her. There are many activities that you can attend if you like. For me it Balloon Voyball. Good exercise. Have some others, too.
