I am so grateful that we moved our mom, Kathe Griffin. from a large uncaring ALF where she was ignored to be looked after in a home setting by Kathryn and the caring staff of Curlew Cares. Here, she was able to stay in her own room even after she could no longer walk and needed total care. Everyone treated her as though she were their own mother, giving hugs and taking time to talk with her about her day. Even during covid, the staff took care to let us speak with her through her window, by phone, or arranged occasional socially distant visits on their porch which we would not have been able to do anywhere else. They kept us advised of health concerns, and as her end of life neared, they arranged hospice care and addressed all of our concerns immediately! She could not have been cared for better anywhere else, and would have been transferred to a hospital like nursing facility (which she would have hated) once she could not ambulate, if she had lived in another ALF. We lost our lovely 99 year old mother at the end of February 2021 when she passed on peacefully to join her beloved husband who preceded her in 1995. Our family will never forget that she was in the best possible place she could have been, and that she was loved by her caregivers there. Thank you, Kathryn, for making this possible!

the facility is smaller but that makes it more personal and you feel more at home than in an ALF. The staff is very friendly and many activities are done with the elderly. i really don't understand why the facility is given poor ratings. I would rather be in such a facility than in a huge facility that is impersonal.

I have been very impressed with the owner, Kathryn, who has been so available to me. I work for home health and am often in contact with families needing immediate placement. She has always taken my calls, follows up with the families right away, day, evening, weekends...it hasn't mattered. She and her staff are amazing! When you walk in you immediately feel welcome! It is warm and cozy with a beautiful sitting room with a fireplace! I have been there many times at all different times of the day and it is always clean, the residents are clean, happy and obviously well cared for. The rooms are very nice, clean, homey! They encourage residents bring in what is most special to them especially as some are losing their memory, they may forget where they are, but they know they're where they're supposed to be as they remember those items! I could go on and on! Thank you Kathryn and your wonderful team for all that you do!

I am so truly grateful and blessed that my mommy is at Curlew Care of Clearwater. It is such a comfort to know that my mom is in such a wonderful loving home. The owner Kathryn , daughter Natalie and staff are like family to us . My mom has been at Curlew Cares for almost 2 years now and I look forward every day witnessing the loving care my beautiful mommy receives. Mommy has had 5 strokes and legally blind and she tells me she feels loved and that makes her happy. I know at Curlew Care my mommy has a consistent care team that truly loves her too . Finding Curlew Cares to love on my mom is truly an answer to prayer and a wonderful gift from God . I would Recommend them to anyone who is looking for a safe and loving home for their loved one . My wife and I have toured many assisted living facilities in the area and we are both in the medical field. Curlew care is a smaller 25 bed ALF. It's clean, comfortable with very caring staff. The rooms range from private , semi private and large rooms with 3 beds. In 2015 Before my mother in law passed, she went to curlew for respite care weeks. Now years later, we have my mother with us requiring a very high level of care. She has visited curlew monthly and when we vacation over the past 3 years. It's comforting knowing when she is at curlew she is very well cared for, loved and clean. All of her needs are met. The staff is compassionate and patient with the residents. The owner Kathryn and her daughter Natalie are very helpful, willing to assist in any needs for the family's or their residents. Truly a blessing to so many families! Thank you Kathryn, Natalie and staff for always having a place for our mom

I went for a tour at Curlew care of Clearwater today. The building was very clean and the residents were enjoying the music man that was putting on a show for them! The staff were so friendly and seemed very happy. I got to see a few rooms two of the rooms are very big they had three beds and plenty of room to sit and visit also had there own bathroom. They also showed me a very bright and beautiful private room that was very large even with a king size bedroom set still had lots of room. There was also a two person room with its own bathroom. I have made arrangements to move my loved one in next week we were very impressed! The prices were very reasonable.

The residents at Curlew Care are like family. They are very close knit. They enjoy eating together, doing various activities and especially enjoy ending the evening by watching a movie together. The staff is skilled and are often complimented by the residents for their service.

My father has been here for a couple years and has received nothing but the bet of care. It's not a "facility"...it's his home. He get very personalized care and all the social activities or private time he wants. I can honestly say i don't think there is a better place for him to be.

I do not understand why anyone would give this place a one star. Our mom was in Curlew care for over two years and we live local and frequently visited our mom, during the day and evening. She was very well cared for, had plenty to eat and was given the special attention that she required. The owners of Curlew care go above and beyond as do the employees who work there. I would highly recommend Curlew care for anyone who needs a place for their loved one. Our mom has since passed from her severe Alzheimer's and it is a blessing that she no longer has to live with this disease. If we had to do it over again we would pick Curlew care for her again. We tried two other places before finding this gem, one of which was a pristine brookdale place, which I would never place anyone in.
