My mother lived there 8 years. In the 8 years we were there, there were at least 5 new Executive Directors, two or three changes in conglomerate ownership and a revolving door of staff. There are three or four long-term staff members who show true dedication and care toward the families and residents. Generally speaking, it's a corporate enterprise, and while it tries to provide a "family" atmosphere, just scratch beneath the surface and you will find indifference and apathy. Reframing the business model to offer better pay to the caretakers there, would help in hiring and retaining more experienced and qualified staff. At present, the model seems to be designed to line the pockets of regional and corporate management. Pretty on the surface, not so pretty underneath.

My mother-in-law spent her last year at Tesera/Ambience of Brandon. We moved her into their memory care unit when her dementia and Alzheimer's became too much for us to manage on our own. The staff their always showed her so much compassion and patience. When we visited, she and the other residents looked clean and well cared for. When she recently passed, my husband and I were overwhelmed with the amount of compassion and actual grief the nurses and caretakers showed for our loss. Moving your loved one into a care facility is a very hard decision. But Tesera/Ambience made the process easier. I'm the end, we know we made the right choice for her.

On a recent visit I saw a female resident removed from a male resident 's room. She had gone into the unoccupied room and made herself comfortable on the bed, apparently soiling the linens. Apparently this is a regular occurrence with this woman, which was confirmed by several people I spoke with. Additional measures need to be in place to monitor this woman; or assign an aide to her by the facility or family. This incident and others by her was and is, very disturbing to many residents and visitors.

We wish to thank all the staff at the Tessera memory care for the wonderful care that Famyr receives. We thank God that Tessra and their people our there for her. Famyr is treated like family and says she is very happy. We visit often and are always treated with kindness. Any questions we have are answered with professionalism and promptness. We feel we could of not of found a better place for our family.

During Covid my mom was showing signs of early dementia wanted her closer to where I live. We moved her into Tessera on the Assisted Living Side - with the intent to move her over to Memory Care when the time came . The staff attempted to get her out of her room on many occasions- Heather Jacobs on several occasions went to get her and brought her downstairs - mom had a great tume( Heather sent us pictures) Once she was in memory care the staff was very good to her . No place is perfect and there will be some issues but they are understaffed but the staff who are there are so great!!! They were always pleasant when I was there on weekends and always took the time to answer questions I had about mom. She recently passed after less than a year in the memory care side partly due to a stroke which made her dementia worse. The staff and the ladies who man the front desk are extremely professional and always smiling

Love Jill Andrew and I have known her for many years. I met her through BNI years ago and have had the best times with her. She is the best at her profession and I have never met anyone like her. She loves her job and takes care of her people.

My in-laws finally needed assistance at 90-91. We came from Texas to help find a place where they would be happy and taken care of. We had been to several facilities but found something at each one that could be better. When we went to Tessera of Brandon, the feeling that this could be the place was almost immediate. As I walked in the first thing I saw was a wall of windows. The natural light and tall ceiling was like a breath of fresh air and I couldn’t help but smile, it was so pretty. Very quickly we were greeted by a friendly staff member who made us feel at home. The dining room was near, and as residents passed by headed to lunch each one spoke to us and looked very happy. I noticed the printed menu for the day was displayed nicely on an easel with each entree displayed next to it which gave the feeling of a high end restaurant. I told my sister-in-law to look for something wrong, it just seemed too perfect. We were drawn to the wall of windows as Dr Bill was called to talk with us. Dr Bill was fun, personable, and felt like someone we could trust. As we talked and learned more about Tessera thru the tour, we all knew this was where we would feel the most comfortable for our parents/in-laws. My father-in-law kept saying it’s amazing how happy everyone is. None of us could find anything wrong and we all fell in love with the staff, building, and courtyard. We were able to move most of what they wanted to take before we went back home to Texas. My in-laws have been there about 2 weeks and I’m told by my in-laws and other family members who live in the area that they still haven’t found anything wrong. The staff continues to be friendly, positive, and knows my in-laws each time I’ve talked to someone on the phone. The protocols in place are very comforting and make us feel a little closer such as the email notifications each time the in-house Dr sees them, the Facebook posts during Hurricane Milton that everyone was safe and returned calls without having left a message. We feel they are with friends who truly care and have such a peace of mind. Most importantly my in-laws still can’t find anything wrong. Dr Bill and each staff member at Tessera of Brandon make it feel like your home with people who truly care about you. Tessera of Brandon is perfect for our family and such a blessing. I am thankful. I've had limited experience with this type of facility. My in-laws were in 2 different facilities which I would have given a -1 and a 2 star ratings. Now, My brother is in Tessera and they are 10 times better. He seems much happier there, than living with us. They keep him more socially involved and active than we were able to when he lived with us. They also provide opportunities for families to keep involved in their residences lives.

Thank you to Dr. Bill and the rest of the staff! We had a different ALF lined up for my parents but it fell through at the last minute. Dr Bill pulled a miracle and got them set up at Tessera. They have so much patience with my parents (even when they are cranky). The staff is fantastic! I cannot thank them enough.

Greatest staff and loving care ever. Our mom required living assistance in her later years and after touring many assisted living facilities we chose Tessera. Not only was there facilities perfect but they provide many crafts and entertainment. The staff was loving and caring on my mom’s every day journey. Tessera made my mom a part of their family. Tessera of Brandon is amazing! I visited about 10 assisted living facilities for my grandmother and they were my top pick. I myself, would live there. Expectations were high and they met the needs of my grandmother and our family. Staff is loving, caring and exceptional. They know the members living there as well as the family both professionally and personally. When my grandmother's health deteriorated, they were willing to accommodate her needs and worked with us. She had lived in her house for 60+ years so this move was difficult but with the staff's help she was able to transition peacefully. When she passed they were grieving as well as they grew to love my grandmother. They worked with us to the very end. I recommend Tessera to everyone....they are the best!

Checked out Tessera on recommendation of a friend whose career is geriatric nursing. Mom has been there four years now, and is happy. Dementia is a difficult road and every case is different. I think the staff meets the patient where they are in the moment. Mom has stayed mobile, become more outgoing , and feels comfortable in her lovely apartment. The food service could be a bit better, but they are trying to do that and it's hard to find good employees. She is happy, and that's all that matters.

Butt for food Services and the dining rooms change of rules every day I would have been able to give it more stars especially the medical staff. It is very helpful and courteous and can't be enough said about it like I said the only problem with this facility is the -10 percent coming from the dining facility.

I placed my cousin in Tessera of Brandon in December after a diagnosis of dementia. The progress she has made in a little over two months is remarkable! She is physically stronger and more aware of her surroundings than I ever thought possible. The staff and therapists really take an interest in the well being of the residents. I am very happy for my cousin and completely satisfied with her level of care. I would recommend Tessera to anyone who needs assisted living for themselves or a loved one.

My mother is in memory care in Tessera of Brandon and I find the staff to be doing their very best to know and meet the needs of the residents. I know they personally care about my mom and they are a great support to me as the caregiver. I have been very impressed with the the presentation of the meals in the dining room. The qualty of the food is excellent. There are daily activities such as bingo, sit down fitness activities, musical presentations, manicures, arts and crafts, and many more. I know it is hard to see our loved ones suffering through dementia/alzheimers. But Tessera has helped me to meet my mother's needs in a compassionate way which I could never do alone. Thank you!

As an earlier reviewer posted, the place reeks of urine, staff are overworked and underpaid. My mother is there, and unfortunately I have no other option but to keep her there. Four General Managers have come and gone since the place opened in April 2018. Who is providing leadership for this facility? No one. Were the state to be called in to check out Tessera, I don't doubt that it would be closed down.

My father was there for almost two years. The staff were always polite and professional in all my interactions. The facility is well kept, clean, and inviting. After my mom passed my dad refused to move closer to me in SC, as he enjoyed the facility and staff that much.
