Experience so far with Great American has been the most helpful out of any facility I've dealt with. Trisha has made the process of placement so easy. This facility is the cleanest that I've seen and the staff is super friendly, and bilingual which is hard to find in the area.

I have been so impressed with Great American since my loved one moved in. The constant care and attention is much better than he was receiving at his former facility. At Great American they go out of their way to treat residents with respect. They get to know the residents. The residents themselves are friendly with each other and supportive of new residents. It truly is a night-and-day experience from where my loved one used to be. It is clear that this loving and caring tone has been set by their executive director Trisha. She is extremely hands-on and accessible to residents and their family members, in addition to being friendly and responsive (those are two different things!). My loved one’s previous facility leadership avoided residents and family members as a rule. I could not imagine placing my family member anywhere else besides Great American. Here he is treated with the dignity that he deserves.

Hello,.Mike McCabe here and I'm writing this review as a departing resident. I'm able to say departing because of the outstanding and compassionate care and kindness I received over the last 3 years. From.my diagnosis of a hip bone infection in May of 2023 to my leaving today, I have had a remarkable experience! So many hard working staff members and management. This is the place to be in Bradenton! I will never forget these last 3 years. Good food and good company.

Thank goodness for great American assisted-living! They are veteran focused and have been able to help so many of my clients! They have been a blessing! Samantha, the executive Director is so exceptionally caring and is like a part of everyone's family! They have made so many improvements to this community, if my grandparents were still alive, I would definitely have them live there! The staff is wonderful and every time I walk in to this community, everyone is smiling, which says a lot! The activities are fabulous and the food always smells so good when I go during meal times!

The Staff is very Pro-Active with all the residents 24 hours a day. Group & Personal Activities are daily, which fills a person's happiness. Each resident has a Strong Voice in the community which they live in. Health Care is a priority with the Executive Director at Great American Assisted Living at Bradenton, meeting the medical care for all residents. The environment must be clean, second to none. We all have real needs and feelings, to be loved & feel loved. And a Smile & a Hug is ideal for everyone in this house .—

I was able to put a Veteran in this housing! Samantha the executive director was amazing. Transported him on a Friday night to her facility and stayed with him and answered his questions! I visited Saturday morning and he was so impressed with the food, his neighbors and how they cared for him. We are excited to have this warm welcoming home in our community. Thank you to all the staff that made this transition a home for my 85 year old friend. He is looking forward to outings, activities, and the homemade soup. Thank you for the care! We are impressed!

I have worked with Samantha who has been such a god send!! She has gone above and beyond to help get two people that were in dire need of an Assisted Living facility get moved in at Great American. They both LOVE it!! It is so clean and all the staff are friendly and love the residents! I highly recommend Great American!!

We just got my aunt moved into Great American and so far we are super happy. She feels very comfortable there. Samantha Patterson, the Executive Director, has been amazing! She is quickly responsive to everything I ask of her. She is professional and very knowledgeable. No matter how many times I call her, she never makes me feel like I'm bothering her.

This is one of the best living atmospheres I've seen and I've been to a lot of retirement homes. I was also really impressed with their dedication to honoring our veterans. When I walked into this facility I was impressed with how clean everything was and how clean it smells too. I definitely recommend this facility for your family because the staff really cares about making your loved ones feel like they are part of the family.

Great American AL is a wonderful community that have caring staff and owners. Carol and Brenda in the nursing office are especially friendly, warm, attentive and dedicated to the care of their residents. The community has recently undergone some improved renovations that the residents are enjoying. I highly recommend the community.

GAAL made the process seamless. They helped every step of the way. Adele specifically made my dad feel as if he were her #1 priority. They welcomed him in as if it were already his home. Samantha and Adele were there for us and happy to help with all of our questions and requests, making us feel comfortable and at ease. There is constant communication and they are always available. The facility and the residents are so friendly. We feel lucky that we found such a great place for our dad. What a way to honor our Veterans and welcome them home, with care, appreciation, and dignity! Thank you GAAL!

I've been going to this building for many many years in all types of capacity. But within the last year the change not in just the name to Great American but also the staff as well as management has completely changed the building in becoming one of my top choices for residents to live that are on fixed income with VA Benefits and Medicaid LTC. No matter what time you come into the building there is always someone helpful and polite to answer and direct you to where you have to be. Most importantly the amazing direction in which this building is heading can be accredited to the Executive Director Samantha and the team that is alongside her.

In my opinion, the best Assisited Living Facility in Bradenton. The facility is clean and well taken care of but the best feature is the warm & friendly atmosphere. The staff truly cares and they treat the residents like family.

Upon touring this facility, I was immediately struck by the open atmosphere and the friendliness of the staff. The facility was clean and the residents appeared to be content in their surroundings - perhaps because they were allowed some personal items in their rooms to make it more their own. The interaction between the Rosemary (the Wellness Director), Mark (the Med Tech), and the patients was heartwarming. There was pleasant and jovial banter - the patients gave as good as they got! Definitely a facility to consider if your parent/loved one needs a residence where they can still feel some independence.

Samantha the administrator is awesome. She gave my clients and myself a lovely tour today. They are making lots of improvements inside and it looks very good!! I think with her leadership residents will be very happy there. It's nice to see how great it looks in there !!!

This has been the strongest most caring admistration and management group since I have been at Bradenton Oaks going on 6 Years and this is been the first time we aren't being giving false promises and realize it will take a while to repair and upgrade things that weren't addressed in the past I will continue to Call Bradenton Oaks my Home for the rest of my life. They have wonderful eff. apartment and are slowly rebuilding the staff all employees we have now care about the residents and place them first they are here because they care. The food has been good just a little repetitive which is continuing to improve. I have put a flower and veg. garden in the courtyard of the towers and we have recently added bird feeding stations so our comunity will feel more like home and they will being getting us some new coverage and furnishings outside I would recomend and have Bradenton Oaks to anyone We are building a stronger community daily. We are a strong family and welcome every one who arrive

My family member is so happy to be in Bradenton Oaks, especially since he had a bad experience at another ALF. I am impressed at the cleanliness of his room, at how friendly the staff is and how helpful they have been whenever I have a question. My family member tells me how good the food is and that it is hot, which was not the case at the previous ALF. It makes me happy to know my family member is safe and cared for, has a chance to meet other friendly members and share in the various social activities offered.

This review is long overdue, but well deserved. From the 1st time in the facility Michele helped us navigate Medicare, VA & all that comes with it! Even when she was not sure what the answer or procedure was, Michele would give us contact info of someone who did. My Grandma was 95, very independent, active & had lived alone until this point. We were able to bring some of her things to make her room personal. It is basically a studio apartment without a kitchen & for my Grandma it's perfect. Today we even put in a flower bed for her in the park & she loves it! We are very thankful to everyone at Bradenton Oaks for the great care they give.

I went to check out what this place had to offer. Took a tour with Michele Postell. She was very kind and helpful and it was very informative. There have been complaints in the past about this place but it’s my understanding that they are revamping everything including staff to make a better and more comfortable space for our loved ones to feel at home. Considering putting a loved one in a home is a delicate and difficult decision. I am very glad I took the tour and highly suggest that you reach out to Michele if you are looking for someone who actually cares to help you in what is probably one of the hardest and most overwhelming times is your life.

It has improved with remodeling and a lots cleaner. June 2018 last year Respite care was a worry, not worried now, call lights was her only complaint but when were there, the usual time it seemed to us.

I toured this community prior to Covid. It was clean and staff members were very helpful. They communicated well with the residents and you cold see the love and compassion they have for them. After researching other communities I did decided to place my husband here. They stay in constant communication with me. I would be lying if I said it was love at first sight, however after speaking with the sales director and doing a virtual tour of the Bradenton Oaks. I have to say I could feel the love and compassion that she feels for every life that she touches. If the staff at Bradenton Oaks has half the compassion and love for the residents they are top notch. It is not always about the appearance.. Take the time to research even if it does not look like a five star palace...

My grandmother lives at Bradenton Oaks. It has had a lot of struggles in the past. They have came along way in the past year. My grandmother has been a resident for over two years and she is very happy there. She has made several friends. She is very social and enjoys being around others. My sister and I placed our mother at Bradenton Oaks last year. We have seen several changes through out this year for the best. The food has improved 100%, the place is clean and cheerful, staff is more engaged. Our mother is happy in her apartment. After researching several Senior Communities we decided that Bradenton Oaks was the place for my grandfather. The staff and residents were very engaged during our virtual tour. The place was clean as were the residents. Staff was engaged with the residents. Everyone seemed extremely happy during these trying times. We know that my grandfather is going to be Happy at Bradenton Oaks.

After doing virtual tours with several communities and meeting with several people. We decided that Bradenton Oaks was the place for my mother. We did a virtual tour of this community that took well over an hour. The sales director Wendy never acted like it was a bother. She showed us everything and then stayed on the phone to answer several questions we had. She also introduced us to several staff member through out the tour.. Thank you all for all that you do.

My grandmother has been at Bradenton Oaks for 11 months now! I have seen significant changes with the community as well as the staff and residents.. My grandmother has made new friends and is continuously raving on how delicious the food is and how great the staff takes care of her!! Try other facilities........then tell me what you think. Do you like bedbugs? Try the Cottages. Better yet........try the food.......no privacy either! However, the staff are really friendly, caring and nice, under the circumstances they have to work. Moved to Bradenton Oaks. No bugs! The food? 100% better. Its not Michaels but its pretty good. The desserts are great. What? A key to my room and a kitchen! It makes me weep. LOL. Staff are nice, too. Be your own detective. Tell your family.

The aids are routinely on their phones and not available when called. The facility needs to complete their remodel as the back section of the building has a terrible smell from a flooded room. They say no smoking, but a resident is routinely smoking in their room, adding to the bad smell in the back section of the facility. The remodeled rooms are nice and most of the residents are friendly and make the living experience enjoyable. The food options are small portions and not the best quality but it keeps you fed.

If not familiar with elderly assisted living care, then one might get turned off a bit. Assisted living centers are difficult to operate, at best and must do so at minimal cost. As result, they sometimes seem in somewhat lesser quality state.

My mom has been there for about three months. As other reviewers have stated, the prospective resident is promised everything, but in reality it is quite difficult to get anything accompolished. I have made several requests of both the nursing supervisor and director and few have been fulfilled. It seems they have no system in place to pass your request on to the staff member that can execute it. Some on the staff are outstanding, while most are average or less. Ringing ones alert pendant does not always bring help in a timely manner. I guess as with most old folks, they are always complaining about the food. My mom hasnt experienced any abuse, only some neglect. Generally the place seems a little run down and is not always clean. Quite often I can feel my shoes sticking to the floor in the dining room and the elevator. The dining room has just been fitted with white plastic wall paneling that makes it look very institutional. I am on the fence as far as recommending it. If it all you can afford I guess you could get by, but if you have those extra dollars for a better place I would upgrade. I agree that they take some people that really should be in a nursing home. If your loved one is pretty self sufficient I think they could reside there.
