During the weeks I spent in the Artis facility transitioning my father into his new home, I looked forward to each visit to this special place on planet Earth where each person I would encounter I found nicer and more caring than the next--and then would circle back to the first person and enter a feedback loop 🙂 . Their mission is clear in their demeanor, their words, and their intangible shine: we care and there is no case too difficult for us--because we care. From the management team (Sheryl and Becca) to the medical/nursing team (Gavin, Dr. Henry, Suzie and Linda) to the social work support (Bri), building and grounds (Nicks on, who was there for us and followed through with any request sometimes even before we formally put in the request!), and kitchen/support staff (Amarante and co.), we continuously feel that we have everyone on board at all times to help my father with a genuine smile if care and concern on his or her face.

Moving a parent into memory care is one of the hardest decisions a family can make. There's grief in it, guilt in it, and an almost paralyzing fear that you're making the wrong call. I want to write this review for anyone who is standing at that crossroads right now, because I wish someone had written it for me before I found Artis. From the very first conversation, the team here treated my father like a person not a patient, not a room number. The transition process was handled with a level of care and thoughtfulness I didn't expect. They asked questions about who he is, not just what he needs. What does he like? What makes him laugh? What does a good day look like for him? That told me everything I needed to know about the philosophy of this place. He has been there for a while now and I can genuinely say he is happy. Not just "comfortable" in the clinical sense actually happy. He engages with activities, he has moments of joy in his days, and when I visit, I see a version of my father I was afraid I'd lost. The staff knows him. They greet him warmly, they're patient, and it's clear they actually enjoy being around the residents. That's not something you can fake day after day. I am my father's sole caretaker, and for years I carried the weight of that completely alone. Artis gave me something I didn't know I desperately needed the ability to exhale. There's a particular kind of peace that comes from knowing your loved one is genuinely safe, engaged, and cared for by people who are better equipped for this than you are. I say that not out of guilt, but out of honesty. The team here can give my father things I simply couldn't structure, consistent skilled care, and a community around him every single day. If you're on the fence, go visit. Trust what you see and how it feels when you walk in. For us, Artis was the right decision, and I'm grateful every day that we found it.

When my brother was Baker Acted and taken to the hospital, Sheryl went out of her way to visit him, bring him Tootsie lollipops, and keep me informed every step of the way. She coordinated his transportation, advocated for him, and welcomed him into your community even though he was considered high‘risk and combative. Many facilities would have turned him away. Sheryl did not. She stood firm, patient, and unwavering. But she did not stand alone. To the nurses, including Susie and Primrose, thank you for your steady hands, your clinical skill, and your compassionate hearts. You cared for my brother in moments when he was frightened, confused, or overwhelmed. You treated him with dignity, even on the hardest days. To the caregivers, including Cherlyne, Lissett, and the many others whose names I may not know but whose kindness I will never forget ” thank you. You provided stability when he was unstable, comfort when he was distressed, and presence when he could not advocate for himself. Your work is sacred, and it does not go unnoticed. My brother was also the youngest resident in your community ” living with Alzheimer’s and hydrocephalus. These conditions do not discriminate by age, and they bring unique challenges. Yet your team embraced him with the same level of care, patience, and respect as any other resident. This speaks volumes about your capability, your training, and your heart. It is clear that your center is equipped to handle high‘level, complex care, regardless of age. Sheryl once told me, No place is perfect. And she is right. I recently came in with my husband to visit my mother-in-law, and I just wanted to share how impressed we were. The activities offered here are truly wonderful. As an elementary school teacher, I really value engaging and meaningful activities, and I can honestly say you all are doing an amazing job. Brianna (I hope I have her name right) was absolutely phenomenal. You all made a great choice having her on your team. Not only was she leading activities beautifully, but I also noticed how attentive and caring she was with the residents. I saw her checking in regularly, making sure everyone was comfortable and well taken care of ” even wiping down a resident’s clothes when they got a little dirty and helping some of the ladies with their hair to keep them looking nice. What stood out to me most was how alert and proactive she was. At one point, a resident began trying to get up from their wheelchair, and before they could even fully attempt it, she was already right there by their side. That level of attentiveness is truly commendable. Overall, the activities are engaging and thoughtfully done, and I genuinely feel like my mother-in-law enjoys being there. Thank you for creating such a caring and positive environment.

This nursing home has been absolutely amazing. My grandma has been living here for a couple of months now, and I truly couldn’t be happier with the care she receives. The environment is so loving and welcoming, and it really feels like a place where the residents are genuinely cared for. I especially want to give a huge shoutout to Briana in activities ” she is truly the best. She is so energetic, loving, and passionate about what she does. One day when I came in, she was doing my grandma’s hair and makeup, making her feel beautiful and confident, and it honestly meant so much to see that level of care and attention. Briana is an amazing person, and the rest of the staff are just as wonderful. Everyone goes above and beyond to make sure my grandma is well taken care of. The nurses are also incredible and always so kind and attentive. I’m so grateful for this place and the people who work here.

My husband is currently a resident of Artis Senior Living for a year. From the minute I walked in and was greeted I could feel the difference from other facilities. There was a genuine warmth exuded by everyone I met. It was clear to me after the tour that this is a place where compassion, kindness and dignity are priorities. And I have not been disappointed. Every one involved in my husbands care, from the nurses, care partners, activity coordinators, food service and maintenance have been warm, attentive and caring. The atmosphere is very homey and welcoming. Everyone is willing to pitch in when needed. The management is always very accessible for me. Sheryl, the Executive Director, is always willing to listen and ensures that all my concerns are addressed. I feel confident and it brings me peace to know that my husband is well cared for and safe. Artis is the best place around. Is it perfect? No place is, but I have had no red flags. All of my issues have been worked through with a compassionate team of administrators. I have never had a problem getting a hold of anyone when I had questions. They have activities 7 days a week which is unusual. My Mom is always clean and well dressed. Her room is always clean. Her weight is good and she likes the food. She has some friends, which is what she wanted. She has gone on some field trips to the museum of art and a restaurant. They also have a free support group for the family which is lead by a professional. I definitely recommend Artis Boca Raton to anyone who needs memory care for a loved one.

My parent is a resident @ Artis Boca Raton, less than a year w/ advanced dementia. I have been disheartened by some aspects of this facility. Some Aides are kind and attentive; understand the needs of people with this illness; others inattentive, tired, seem bored. At shift changes Aides shout & call to each other, laugh boisterously; this is insensitive to many residents who are frail, like my parent. Sound is distorted for those w/ advanced dementia & they startle easily. Not enough care taken to muffle noise in hallways. How do they not understand this at a Memory Care home? Executive Director Sheryl has often been dismissive and insulting over phone. Senior Staff gives consistent impression that our calls to check on how our parent is doing are a nuisance or bother to them, as they are so busy. For offspring of a resident who live far away from this facility it adds to our grief and difficulties when we are made to feel that our calls are a nuisance. I've gone 5 months w/out calling. (I can't rely solely on my frail elderly father for all info.) Artis Boca prefers to speak to only ONE relative of a resident; others are discouraged from calling. Activities are geared to those with milder dementia, not more advanced. MUSIC OFTEN VERY LOUD, which is startling to many residents. On more than one occasion my parent was ignored in Sundowning mode, shouting for someone's attention; routinely goes on - residents in some degree of distress or upset are sort of not attended to fast enough (improvement needed here, please!) The halls are brightly decorated and clean. Furnishings in rooms dated. Food is good (high fats though). Fresh fruit & vegetables are available daily. Sunday "Ice Cream Socials" are a nice addition. Animal Visiting Days is a lovely event for the residents, and other activities where music is not at a very high volume. Complicated word game activities an hour or two before dinner as the Sundowning starts for many of the residents is inappropriate. I had to "talk back in off the ledge" my parent, who was anxious and confused, when an activity was too complicated & confusing, triggering anxiety. Please do better, Artis Boca Raton!

Artis Senior Living of Boca is the best run place for memory care, dementia, and Alzheimer's patients. It is like a 5-star hotel. The care givers are at the highest level of dedication and friendliness towards the residents assigned to them. They show utmost patience and professionalism in dealing with often angry behavior of the patients. It's a place where residents have individual bedrooms and bathrooms. They eat at the dining room with white table clothes, linen mats and napkins washed after every meal. The food is superb with two choices of meals. The medications are dispensed by a professional nurse who watches that they are swallowed by the patients. And above all, there is an hourly program of entertainment, dance, and exercises for every day with the assistance of the best trained staff. The most popular is the live entertainment geared to the period in time which the residents remember and sing together. Because of the careful watch of care givers, the residents don't feel abandoned or lost. The Artis staff becomes their extended family!

Her last 14 months were confined to a wheel chair. The love and support 24 hours a day were relentless. Artis has been great for my 88 year old dad. He is adapting well, I do check in often because it's close to home. This is only week 3 so far I'm impressed with the various activities, meals (actually are seasoned) and clinical healthcare staff. They even have outings to play and bring in therapy ponies! have not been there between 7pm-10am. After touring other places like Saint Andrews & Abbey delray this was by far the best option for him. If your loved one likes activities, the company of others & enjoys great meals then this is a great place to call home. If they like to be alone then this may not be the place.

After looking at memory care communities for almost a year, when I toured Artis Senior Living of Boca, I knew immediately it was the right fit for my mom. From that tour I could actually envision my mother thriving at Artis - something I was struggling with while looking at so many other communities. There are different activities every day. Bingo, Chair Zumba, Gardening , Cooking demonstrations, Games - the list goes on and on. Weekly ice cream socials are always a hit. Entertainers come in singing the oldies. Therapy ponies visit every month. A weekly schedule is emailed, so you know exactly what’s going on each week. Chef Andres’ meals are delicious. The food is always fresh and healthy. I’ve never heard anyone complain about the food. All the care partners are special people! They have special training working with folks in all different stages of Dementia/Alz. While they all provide great care to my mom , I have to recognize one care partner in particular. Primrose Lee Chambers. Primrose is an exceptional care partner. She goes above and beyond every single day. She does everything in her power to not only provide excellent care, but treats each resident with dignity and respect.. She is one of the best humans I have ever met. Primrose knows every resident, and knows their individual needs. She knows every family member and always greets you with a smile. I am so thankful to know that she is looking out for my mom when I’m not there! Choosing to move your loved one to a memory care community is not an easy decision. But I’m so comforted knowing my mom is being so well cared for at Artis.

My mother has been a resident at Artis in Boca Raton for the past 5 months and we know we made the right choice. Moving mom into memory care was an extremely difficult decision for my sister and I to make but after she fell at home and broke her hip and we took turns caring for her 24/7 at her home we realized we needed to find a loving and safe environment for her to live. After looking at several options and getting recommendations, we decided Artis was the best place for mom. At first it was a very difficult adjustment for mom so it was extremely helpful when the director, Rebecca, connected her up with a buddy on her first day moving in. Her buddy (Joanne) is now her best friend and they call each other sister and are constantly together. I can't say enough about how loving and caring all of the staff are from the ladies at the front desk (Cindy and Tonya) to the activity directors (Cynthia and Eva) to the individual care partners to the healthcare and nursing staff (Rhoda, Susie, Carol) and so many others. Everyone knows mom's name and always has a smile on their face. The food prepared by Chef Andres is excellent with multiple courses and choices for each meal. There is a full day of activities planned for the residents including morning and afternoon entertainment in the common area and weekly ice cream socials as well as offsite activities. I visit mom often and it is such a relief to see her enjoying the activities with the other residents and knowing she is well cared for. We are so, so grateful for Artis and the wonderful team there.

My mother has Alzheimer’s and has been living at Artis for over 2 years. When our family realized that she would be better off living in a senior memory care facility, we were searching for a place where she would be comfortable and active even as the disease progresses, and where we were confident that she would be well cared for, both medically and emotionally. After visiting several local memory care centers, it was 100% clear that Artis was the right place for Mom. The people who work there are wonderful, warm and caring, from the Executive Director (Noelle) to the nursing staff to the aides who work closely with the residents 24/7. The building is relatively new, and the interiors are bright, cheerful and clean (no medicinal or other smells). Each resident room has a private bath. The menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner have a lot of variety, and look very tasty. There’s a weekly calendar of activities in the morning and afternoon every day, and the resident coordinator (Rebecca) does an amazing job getting the residents to engage and participate. They communicate often with Dad and me regarding any medical or other issues, but also with photos and videos of mom having fun in the activities! Mom recently fell and ended up in the hospital for a few days, which is especially hard for a patient with memory issues. Since we have no experience with anything like this, Noelle and the head nurse (Rhoda) helped us immensely by communicating with the hospital and us about next steps. Noelle even went to the hospital on the weekend to evaluate Mom’s situation, and helped coordinate all the logistics of Mom’s return to Artis. We are very grateful for everything the Artis team has done to give Mom the best possible quality of life.

Our experience at the facility was short, but we knew our loved one was taken care of with the highest standards. The community is designed for memory care only rather than as an afterthought as it is at most assisted living homes. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left, I have nothing but good things to say about everyone there.

Choosing the right long-term care facility isn't easy. It's like walking a tightrope while spinning plates. We're all trying to balance cost, quality of care, our loved ones' quality of life, bed availability, location, and staffing ratios. It's daunting, overwhelming, and stressful. That's how we felt when we realized we needed to find full-time care for my father. We needed a guide, a partner, and a team who would make my father comfortable and give him the support and care he truly needs. We toured as many facilities as we could. We asked friends and physicians for referrals. We created spreadsheets and filled out so many forms. SO. MANY. FORMS. Only one facility seemed to truly understand our situation and constantly offered the support and guidance we needed: ARTIS Senior Living in Boca Raton. It's been almost a month since my father moved in, and their care and assistance have been outstanding. The staff is dedicated and compassionate. They genuinely care about the well-being of the residents. Within a few days, everyone seemed to know my father's name. They've embraced his condition(s) and have worked hard to make him as comfortable as possible. A transition like this isn't easy for your loved one - or your family - but the ARTIS team has made themselves available at every turn. They've gone out of their way to help us understand how long-term care works. They've shown compassion and kindness, even when we ask the same questions repeatedly. So far, my father has participated in Bingo and loves the ice cream socials. He's particularly fond of their live music programs and even enjoyed Personal Pony day. (You'll have to ask all about it.) My father is safe and well-cared for, and while he's sleeping better, so are we. For us, ARTIS has proven to be a great fit. Their team of care partners has helped my father and our family get back on solid ground. We no longer feel like we're walking a tightrope. Thank you, ARTIS. I have been able to tour Artis, and attend an event that they held at their facility. As a fellow professional, what stood out to me was how professional and kind all of the staff were. Smiles and friendly hello’s all around! April Stewart welcomed me in for a tour, and was so knowledgeable about Artis and the services they offer. April was very kind and so welcoming. When I was there, they were having a brunch for the residents, it looked amazing! The themed units stood out to me..the facility looks beautiful and clean on the outside, and when you go inside you will see the same!

My Father has cognitive issues and moved into Artis several weeks ago. As for most of us it's difficult, expensive and time consuming trying to find the best place for our loved ones. Somewhere warm, comfortable, clean, well staffed and affordable. Not an easy task. BUT Artis checked all the boxes. We moved in hoping what we were told would be delivered....Not only did they deliver they far exceeded our families expectations. After 3 weeks my Father whispered in my brother's ear " I Love it Here". He was at several rehab centers in the last 6 months and it finally feels like we found him a home away from home. Thanks to all the staff at Artis for all you have done and are doing for my Father. He deserves it.

My mom has been a resident at Artis for almost 4 years. The staff is warm, caring, and highly professional. The management team is always accessible, and it is truly a team that works together. We are delighted to have chosen Artis for my mom. They regularly go out of their way to accommodate her needs. We researched and found that Artis of Boca would be the best place for our dad with advancing Alzheimer's Disease. We moved him a week before the Coronavirus lockdown and haven't physically seen him since March 9, 2020. However, they have worked with us to communicate virtually with him as much as possible. The collaborative healthcare team and responsive administrative staff are amazing, working together to keep our loved ones safe!

Words won't come close enough to explain how my family and I feel about Artis. We placed my dad here several months ago, you can imagine the anxiety we all had. We had visited several facilities from West Palm all the way down to Deerfield. When we walked into Artis we knew immediately we were home! We met with Rebecca and then Samara who answered our millions of questions with such ease and patience. As we toured the facility seeing everyone so involved, you truly feel and see that they genuinely care about the residents and us too! Even the administrator made sure we had her business card, she pointed out her cell and said to use it anytime...we actually put her to the test, she passed with flying colors, we reached out to her several times with our many questions and she answered every time, so caring and compassionate! I cannot describe the feeling you get when you're here, you're family! Its obvious every time we're here you see it and feel it. It's not just with us it's with everyone, even among themselves! Everyone is alive, everyone is happy and everyone truly cares. I cannot thank whoever created Artis and whoever hired this amazing team, they really deserve an award! Thank you for taking such great care of our dad and us too! From the nursing staff who goes above and beyond every day to the cooks for preparing delicious meal every day! To the cleaning staff for keeping the place so clean! Lastly, the activities our dad has never been so engaged and happy! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, we have our dad back and we owe it all to Artis!! If you are looking for a place for your loved one, no need to look anymore, Artis is it!!

We had to put my Uncle in there he lived alone and was forgetting everything he there for 3 months he never looked or felt better. They are wonderful.So caring and understanding. They take care of him like he is there father it a hard decision but it had to be done afraid he was going to fall and hurt himself. Was looking many places Artis of Boca Raton is the best.
