One of the most difficult decisions Ive ever needed to make was coming to terms with the fact that my husband, who suffers from Cognitive Impairment, had reached the point that I could no longer care for him at home, even with help. I was unable to provide him with the time and stimulation he needed to keep involved, active and safe.The timing of this was further complicated by COVID and the closing of his day program.Fortunately for my husband, myself and our family and friends we found Maplewood at Strawberry Hill.The personnel at Maplewood are so welcome, caring and personable. They focus on the dignity of the individual resident.Their sensitivity to family concerns and interest in the residents needs are very comforting. Visitors are welcomed and encouraged.The facility itself is warm, beautiful and immaculately maintained. Its location also affords me the opportunity to visit several times a day which was one of my criteria in selecting an assisted living setting.Obviously, Id love to have my husband at home but, as thats not feasible right now, I am so very happy and pleased to have found Maplewood.

Moving my mom from FL to CT was one of the hardest decisions Ive made. Having her at Maplewood at Strawberry Hill has been a blessing in many ways. We are close by. The staff and management team are caring, open, communicative and responsive. The facility is spotless. Mom is coming up on one year at Maplewood. Do I wish I could care for her myself at home? Yes. But having her at Maplewood at Strawberry Hill is the next best solution.

The Maplewood facility is well-maintained and offers excellent on-site options for dining, nursing care, activities, etc., and also many programs to engage in the local community. We assessed many similarly high-end facilities, but we are confident that we've made the right selection due to Maplewood's high attention to detail, private company culture, and personal attention of the staff from maintenance team, aides, nurses, social workers, administrators, and top management.

This is a new community that is updated, secure, and big. When I first came for a tour they were friendly and welcoming and I felt like they wanted to create a family environment and interaction. My mom is in the Memory Care and she has the whole 2nd level to walk around and not feel like she is locked up. She has settled in and every single staff from PT to OT has welcomed her. They have helped improved her mobility and nutrition. She eats as much as she want or can without waiting long. She loves the musical interaction, the guitarist comes daily.

As we begin 2016, we are so grateful that our mother is still with us and so profoundly grateful to you and to Maplewood. Every day my family and I think about what an amazing thing you did for us. She is so comfortable and comforted at Maplewood. Being at Maplewood has given us more time with my mom, and has helped us care for my father as well. One of the few things she can truly enjoy is food and she responds to and loves the food. The staff works so hard to create meals she can eat and enjoy, and the fact that I can nip in there and get her treats and tea etc anytime is so hugely helpful for us. The nursing and medical staff has been the biggest and most important thing for her and for us. They are just incredible. Knowing each one of them and their deep commitment to their profession has been an endless comfort to us. All that mindful and loving nursing care is helping us have this extra time with her - it means the world to us. They pay such close attention and are so responsive and so professional. Every one of them has helped keep my mother with us, and helps keep her as peaceful and comfortable as she can be. We feel very lucky to have your nurses overseeing her care. Thank you for being there and doing what you do!
