I would rate The Village 5 for all of the staff who work there day to day. My Dad gets great care with nursing, great service for meals, and he is valued. I would rate administration a 3 due to lack of getting things done in a timely manner, return communication is less than desirable. Overall, our family is grateful that our Dad is somewhere safe and cared for. Deidre, Sydney, nursing, food service, maintenance, Chef Tony, Tonythank you!

One of the hardest things in life is when your parent cannot take care of themselves anymore. The second hardest is finding a loving, caring place you know they will be safe at. My mother had lived in her house that she built with my father for 58 years. He passed away 25 years ago. She didn't want to leave her mom even though she said she did. Her physical and mental health were declining. She could no longer stay in her big house by herself. But being a stubborn woman that she was she kept insisting she was fine until she started hallucinating, calling the cops and falling. She ended up in the hospital. Now a decision had to be made as to where she will go after discharge. I visited several Senior Living facilities and then I visited The Village at Kensington Place in Meriden. As soon as I walked into the place I felt welcomed, warmth and love. The atmosphere was friendly and cozy. Then there is the staff! Unremarkable! What impressed me most was how long the staff has been working there. Right then I knew this would be a great place for mom. We met with Syndey (Director of Community Relations) she is awesome! Every resident she came encounter with she knew their name and greeted them with pleasant words. My mother was having an awful time adjusting to her new place. It was turning into a nightmare. The staff including Syndey and Stephanie (Director of nursing) were great with supporting me and my family through the transition and reassuring us this is normal behavior and it takes time but she will adjust. We are here for you and your mom. And sure enough with in weeks my mother is doing well and is adjusting. With all the staff at Kensington making it possible. I highly recommend this Senior Living facility. They care about your precious loved ones and not the money!

My dad is at the Village, and choosing this community has truly been one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. He tells me often how kind everyone is, and that alone brings me such comfort and peace of mind. The Village is beautifully maintained and full of life, with so many activities that give residents opportunities to stay engaged and connected. The food is plentiful and nutritious, and knowing my dad is eating well and being looked after means more to me than I can express. Most importantly, my dad feels safe”and as his family, that means everything. The care and compassion shown to him each day reassure us that he is exactly where he belongs. I also want to give special recognition to Sydney, the coordinator, who went above and beyond in every possible way to get my dad settled so quickly. Her kindness, dedication, and willingness to help during such an emotional time meant the world to our family. Thank you to the entire Village community for treating my dad with such dignity, warmth, and respect. We are deeply grateful.

From the moment I walked through the doors looking for the best possible place for my Mom, I was greeted with kindness, and so happy with the whole experience. The place is so clean, and takes care of every need for my Mom. I was sold from the get go! My Mom is thriving here, and her life here is wonderful! Everyone here has made her transition easy and I couldn't be happier! I ask my Mom if she would want to go home, and she says no, she's happy here! I cannnot say enough about the Village at Kensington Place. They have made my family and my mom feel like family. The Village is clean, well maintained, quiet location, homey, have a lot of activities, food options are varied and well planned, and the one bedroom apartment is reasonably priced. The Village at Kensington Place Assisted Living in Meriden is built on a beautiful campus with many amenities that would make anybody feel at home and still have the freedom of an active social life, with many outings and events planned by the caring staff here. The staff at the Village is second to none in their warm and compassionate ways that always keep the members feeling loved and respected. My uncle Paul lived a Kensington place for 3 years.Everyone there was very personable and helpful and very caring.Kensington has a beautiful dining room and has just completed a total remodel..I would recommend putting your love ones there for all the activities and social events but most important the safety and professional care they will receive.

Our Mother has been a resident for two years and the experience has been excellent. The Village recently lost power as did many Meriden residents and this was especially concerning as our Mother is reliant on oxygen machines. Within minutes, Dan (their maintenance worker) was at her apartment with a plug for the back up generator. We cannot express how thankful and grateful we are for Dan’s quick response. We are so impressed with his commitment and compassion. It gives us such peace of mind. Thank you Dan from the bottom of our hearts.

My husband is a resident in the Harbor memory care and I'm very pleased with the care he receives. They offer weekly outings, live music, animal therapy, food demos, crafts, games, etc. The recent remodeling is really nice and in the warmer weather we enjoy sitting out in their patio/garden area. I would definitely recommend The Village at Kensington Place as a wonderful home for your loved one. All the staff are very caring, compassionate and knowledgeable about their specialty. They take the time to know their residents names and preferences. They have beautiful spaces inside and outside to relax and socialize. The food is excellent. The chef and serving staff also take time for each resident, to chat and know their likes and dislikes. The recreation options are extremely varied and interesting. The outside trips are educational and fun, as are the inside facility options. The nurses and aides are beyond compare when taking care of the residents needs. This is truly a wonderful place to call home.

I am truly grateful for the staff at The Village at Kensington. They are professional, proactive, and show genuine concern for the residents. The facility is well maintained. The nursing staff are knowledgeable and attentive. The activities are varied and plentiful. The meals are well balanced and delicious. It is very difficult to leave someone you love in the care of others. The staff at the Village have made this transition as close to perfect as is humanly possible. We selected the Village of Kensington for my sister after visiting and assessing 5 facilities. It was perfect! The warmth and true caring for residents was apparent from the moment we met Ellyn, the admissions coordinator. The astute nursing staff and the RNAs are a team providing the best medical care. Anytime an issue arises , I am contacted and informed of the problem and possible solutions. Residents have a choice of many activities to enrich their daily experiences provided by the recreation director. The support staff and culinary department enrich residents with delicious, health meals and the opportunity to socialize and make new friends. We made the right choice!! Peggy Kaseta

We are so pleased with the care my brother-in-law has received since moving to The Village at Kensington Place in 2018. He is so happy there and truly enjoys all the activities they provide. Everyone is very helpful and friendly. He has his independence along with the care he needs. The nursing staff is phenomenal and very attentive to him. They keep us apprised of any concerns they may have. We couldn’t have chosen a better home for him and highly recommend checking it out for your loved ones.

My Mom has been living in the Harbor memory care facility for four months. David, Ellyn and the entire staff have made this difficult transition as painless as possible. My mother lived on her own for 13 years and suffers from dementia which presented challenges as she moved into a group environment. She was scared , nervous and paranoid when she first arrived now she is happy and well adjusted. Lisa and Pat the activity coordinators have worked wonders with her. I can't thank the entire staff enough. I would highly recommend this place to anyone that is interested in assisted living or has memory care needs

From the moment in 2017 when my parents moved into The Village at Kensington Place they have been attended to in such a caring way that words cannot coney the peace of mind it has brought to my siblings and myself. My father recently passed away and every staff member who is in contact with my mom has gone above and beyond to assist her in any way needed. There are outings and a variety of daily activities covering a range of interests for the residents and the food is delicious. It is truly a wonderful home!

My mom has been living at Village of Kensington Place for almost 2 years. She Loves it !!!!! The staff and David / Manager is a pleasure to do business with. They are caring and take great care of my mom. There is activities through out the day and they have a large dining area with great meals. There is also a nice outside seating area. They will drive your loved ones to doctors app too.I would recommend Village of Kensington Place !!!!

When it came time to finding a place where my brother could live after our parents died it was important for me that the facility offer a safe and caring atmosphere where his needs could be met. I am a long distance caregiver so I rely heavily on the staff and caregivers at The Village at Kensington Place. My brother has now lived there for over 5 years and I am so relieved that everytime there is a winter storm, a need for prescriptions, a need for personal items or transportation to a doctors visit my brother remains safe and well cared for. Communication with the business office or nursing staff is always available and during this past year, in the time of Covid-19, communications were frequent and reassuring. The Village at Kensington Place in Meriden Connecticut is a 5 Star facility.

My Mom has called the Village her home for 8 years. During that time, she received exceptional care. Her needs have ranged from being fairly independent to relying on assistance for most of her basic needs. The relationships formed have and continue to be loving and supportive. The environment offers a multitude of activities and programs to appeal to the interests of the diverse group of residents. I would choose to go to the Village if/when I need to make a transition.
