I am only rating the dining services at the Hartford location. I was visiting a family member and had lunch with them. I ordered chicken and was very, very dry and cold. The sweet potato had half cut off so was a tiny portion. The coffee was extremely watery. The service took 2 hours as only 2 people working in whole dining room. Subpar food for the $ these people pay is awful. On top of that the waitresses were so rude to these poor people because no one is looking. One woman said "I'd like to take my dessert to go, after she had ordered it to eat in. The waitress said, you didn't tell me that before so now you wait" The woman then said, "I didn't say it cause I knew you would give me a hard time" the waitress says "well, too bad". She also treated another person same way. He wanted his bread on side and it didn't come out that way. He mentioned it and she puts it in front of him n says, "well too bad if u don't want it, I will take it away". If that were my parent I would be appalled at the abusive behavior this woman exhibited. They both had poor attitudes toward these people that only deserve kindness in their old age. .

As a long time volunteer at Avery Heights and a daughter of a resident for many years, I am able to give an honest view of life in this exceptional senior community. Avery Heights offers its residents a supportive, caring environment in which programs and opportunities abound. Cultural, social, and physical activities are numerous. Independent life at The Heights was enjoyed by my mother as she was able to remain active in so many ways - volunteering, exercise classes, lectures, social gatherings, grocery shopping with transportation provided - the list is endless! The staff is outstanding in every way. As I now age and look into the future, it will be a monumental task to find a community that comes close to Avery Heights!

Our parents moved in here right before the pandemic hit, at the end of Feb 2020. We are so grateful to every single staff person there for the care and respect given to them. The place is wonderful, clean, beautiful apartment and the people are kind and caring.

It's not easy having to put your loved one into a nursing home even it's just for Rehab. My Mom fell at home & unfortunately because of our work schedules we couldn't take her home from the hospital. We choose Avery Heights because we heard good things & saw their 5 star Medicare rating. We couldn't have chosen a better facility for my mom. The nurses & aides were so caring & attentive to Mom. With the help of the rehab staff my mom was able to come home with us after only rehabbing a few weeks. She was in better condition than before she got hurt! We can not thank Avery enough for all they've done for our family!

The secret Gem. Hidden on the top of a Hill ,at the Heights this is a total amazing shopping Boutiqu'e that has so many selections that your bound to spend time just browsing and enjoying the products. Displayed. The prices are good for the quality of merchandise can't be beat and they Gift wrap!!! The store owner is so awesome giving her best customer service to everyone that enters .A real committee feeling.love it!!!

Transitioning parents is a difficult task and when there is already strain in family relationships it turns dark quickly. Jennifer English provided a very calming spirit during this time. Words cannot express my gratitude for her amazingly wonderful spirit and true compassion in my situation. I have spoken with several Marketing Directors for Independent and Assisted Living Facilities and NEVER have I experienced this true sincerity and concern for your family. I can't speak for Avery Heights in itself right now but I can tell you that if you are considering placing a loved one in a facility in the near future, please sit with Jennifer and let her spirit help guide you through those decisions.
