Attended the heart mixer for the our heart foundation this past weekend and was blown away by the hospitality and first class service of the staff and organization as a whole. The lifestyle director (Andrew K.) was an absolute gentleman and gave us a tour of the facilities. He and the rest of the team provide the highest quality of service and care for all residents and you can see it on the abundant smiles on the residents’ faces. Oh and the food - wow were we blown away by the talents of the in-house chefs (donuts are a must have). Highly recommend for anyone looking for an assisted living facility that feels truly like a home.

Maplewood at Danbury, I would say checks off every box you would need if you were looking for a place for your loved one. From the team always going above and beyond- to always seeing how happy and content the residents are. The activities and services provided here are indescribable-- they are everything you'd want, knowing your loved one is here! It is so nice to see how passionate and dedicated all the staff is here. I would recommend this place to anyone in need for a great home for their families or friends.

Where do I begin? My mom has lived in my home with me and my husband and children for 20+ years. We recently got to the point where we wondered if this was the best environment for her. She was not able to perform basic daily tasks, dressing, bathing, cooking, she stopped socializing, etc. I reached out to Maplewood, I used to work there as an accountant and knew that there was no other place that I would trust caring for my mom. I met with Lauren Stowell and Diana Lopes Maplewood at Danbury and knew right away this was the place for Mom! Fast forward, Mom gets dressed every day, cares about her appearance, gets her hair and nails done regularly (something she has never done!), has 3 nutritious meals a day, is involved with so many activities she rarely takes my calls, LOVES her aides and they love her, has made so many friends, so many positives I cannot even list! I want to personally thank the leadership team at Maplewood Senior Living, and the Maplewood at Danbury staff! Youve changed my moms life and have lifted a huge burden off of the shoulders of my family! Mom is so happy and now has a purpose in life. With love and gratitude, The Rohach Family!

When the time arrived that our aunt (a single lady who never married) needed more care in an environment that was much safer than her own home, we visited a couple of communities. You never get a second chance to make a first impression and Maplewood made a great first impression. We gave our aunt all of the options (she made some of the visits with us) and she selected Maplewood. The facility is more hotel like than a senior care facility but it is the people who make the difference. Every staff member -- including entry level staff -- treats the residents with a genuine smile all while making sure proper care can be provided. In our case, shortly after our aunt joined the community, her level of care needs changed and Maplewood was able to provide the needed additional care. There was no need to put her through the trauma of moving to a new facility. Maplewood's care plan transitioned with her developing needs. All of this is great stuff but the real deal is seeing the interaction between the resident and the staff. Their eyes tell the story -- they love the residents. Our family is very fortunate to be a part of the Maplewood experience.

I am so glad that I found Maplewood at Danbury for my mother! I've been to more facilities than I care to count, and my mother lived in 2 of them before I found Maplewood at Danbury - a beautiful, small facility in a class by itself. There are a limited number of residents at Maplewood, so each resident is well known by the staff (including their likes, dislikes, and favorite activities). The facility is beautifully maintained, spotlessly clean, with the feeling of "home" rather than an institutional setting. The excellent food is farm to table (I've eaten there many times, including major holidays). There are a multitude of activities to choose from which are ongoing throughout the day. The activities staff is wonderfully creative, coming up with new ideas on a regular basis to keep the residents engaged and happy. They also make every effort to assist wheelchair-bound residents to fully participate, whether that involves going out to lunch on Fridays, playing Wii bowling, or getting physical activity with "chair exercises." The residents are encouraged and cheered on for the smallest achievements - it is wonderful and heart warming to see them smiling, laughing and enjoying their lives. The attention paid to my mother's physical condition was amazing. The staff noticed every little issue that might arise, notified me immediately, called in the on-site doctor when necessary, and called Danbury Ambulance when a trip to the hospital was warranted. When doctor appointments were necessary, they transported my mother to and from the doctor's office and a staff member stayed with her during the appointment. The staff were always friendly and conscientious - attributes that were glaringly absent from the two prior facilities where my mother lived. My mother always looked clean and well cared for, her clothes and room were always clean, and the staff administered all of her medications. Another important feature of this facility is their back-up generator system. I had moved my mother up from Florida and was concerned about the potential loss of power during our frequent Winter storms. She couldn't tolerate the cold, but Maplewood at Danbury not only has their own backup generator, but they are also on the same grid as Danbury Hospital (which is conveniently located across the street), so I never worried that they would be without heat. I am so grateful to Maplewood at Danbury for caring for my mother so well during her last year of life. She was 100 years old when she died, and had enjoyed three 100th birthday parties in their private dining room before she passed. It gives me such great comfort to know that she was happy and well cared for during her final year. Thank you to everyone at Maplewood at Danbury for your kindness. It meant the world to me.
