I have been a resident of San Marino for six months and am very happy here, especially with the staff. Jeremy is a server in the dining room who performed the heimlich on me and saved my life when I was choking and couldn’t breathe. Sue a supervisory in the dining room was one of the reasons we chose San Marino because she was so warm and welcoming on our initial visit and remains so to this day. Ramona, the housekeeping supervisor is the hardest worker in the place and keeps all the public areas looking great, and Kurt and his crew of Acacia, Jenny , and Jordan provides wonderful activities. Entertainment, and safe transportation! They also show patience and caring when working with residents with dementia. NEW REVIEW Jenny at the front desk in the Arbors is always so friendly and knowledgeable. But being helpful is where she really shines. I tend to do a lot of shopping on Amazon and occasionally for the variety order something from a restaurant to be delivered. When the delivery person sends me a photo of where my package is I quickly leave my room to retrieve it but find Jenny already at my front door delivering it to me. She beats me every time! Karl is so much more than a night watchman! He is very friendly and truly cares about the residents. I’ve seen him patiently guide a confused resident with dementia back to her room and find an aide for someone who needs help if it’s something he can’t help with. He is a great delivery person delivering packages and newspapers to residents.

Even though she works in Memory Care, and my mom is in Assisted Living, she always makes a point to greet her and take time to chat with her on how she's doing. Eight weeks ago, it became necessary to move her to the Arbors for Assisted Living. I cannot express how kind and compassionate the staff were in helping us make decisions for her care. We recently moved our parents to San Marino into a nice 2 bedroom apartment in independent living. I felt the best part of this retirement home is the wonderful people that help with all the things that make a retirement community a good place for older folks. We first got to know about this place through Sejla, the sales person, and she was and is amazing. Helpful, caring, proactive, and just fun to talk with. The people that prepare food, help with cleaning and maintenance, and the folks that put on various events for the residents and their families, all made my parents feel welcome, comfortable, secure, and helped them enjoy this time in their life.

Our mom moved into San Marino after we received rave reviews from a friend. We have not been disappointed!! Our mom has moved from independent to assisted to memory care - each move well orchestrated and facilitated by the conscientious staff at San Marino. The communication from leadership to the sales group and to the staff has been timely and complete. San Marino is a very compassionate and caring place where we've been able to sleep well knowing that our mom is well cared for by all the staff. We had toured over 15 places in the Denver area and none had the feel of community like San Marino. And we love the food, a rarity in retirement communities, as we all have eaten there with our mom. We are forever grateful that our mom ended up at San Marino. Especially hats off to the leadership team of Lisa and Meghan - we can't imagine two more caring people to oversee the care of our mom.

HOME, to us San Marino is more than a retirement community-we live here and have done so for almost three years. We are actively involved as campus liaisons and work directly with the Executive Director and staff to help ensure that residents have a voice and presence in this rather large family. My husband and I have grown to love this place and every single staff member who work so hard to enhance our day to day lives. From the fine dining we enjoy to the well orchestrated and truly inspired events that fill our calendar life is good at San Marino. Our children have seen firsthand that the quality of life we have here is all they would want for their Mom and Dad. Kudos to Lisa, our Executive Director, Dave in our culinary department, Kurt who manages the fun events and Michael’s maintenance crew who take care of the premises. You do a great job and we appreciate you. If you or someone close to you wants something special in retirement living come visit San Marino. Brandy or Shayla (phonetically spelled) will arrange an informative tour for you. It may not be the newest place in town but has proved itself over time.

I feel so fortunate that my mother was able to live the last year and a half of her 98 years at San Marino Assisted Living. She loved the food and gained 20 pounds while there. The grounds are beautiful. I looked forward to taking Mom in her wheelchair on "walks" to see the gorgeous flowers that changed with the seasons. Of course, the most important feature of San Marino is the wonderful, caring staff who tended to her increasing needs on a daily basis. They were caring, thoughtful, experienced, friendly and kind. I was referred to San Marino by a long-time resident who was happy there for years and years. I give the same glowing recommendation to friends who ask me. Knowing that Mom was being cared for by genuinely caring and skilled care givers gave me tremendous peace of mind, especially with the added stress of clearing out and selling her house and attending to her financial affairs. Thank you so much to all the staff at San Marino!

The level of care given at San Marino assisted living is completely unacceptable. They claim they check on residents every 2 hour, even during the night, but they absolutely do NOT. My mother fell last night getting ready for bed, and she wasn't found until 6AM today. This is unacceptable. Don't send your loved one to this facility.

Both of my parents have been fortunate enough to call San Marino Retirement Community home for several years. They have moved through all the different stages of housing from Independent Living, to Assisted Living and now to Memory Care. We feel so fortunate to have been able to keep them in the same community through all of these stages of life. The staff members at SMRC are wonderful, caring people which is such a Blessing. The facilities are updated, clean, and very pleasant to live in offering gathering areas, dining areas, etc. The grounds are so amazing - mature shade trees, beautiful gardens, lots of covered outdoor seating, lovely lawn and walking paths. They also maintain a lively social life for the residents including Happy Hours, special holiday dinners, exercise/games; trips to the casino, shopping trips, etc. Their private shuttle bus will also take residents to doctor's appointments, dentist appointments, etc., as needed. Lastly, they have a wonderful on-site hair salon run by Donna Earl - her kind and joyful personality makes them feel so special while being pampered during her hair and nail appointments. My family and I feel so grateful to everyone at SMRC for making what can be a difficult stage of life for our loved ones, a safe and fulfilling one!

San Marino was not only a home for our mother but for all of our family. Our mother was in the assisted living. The care she received by all staff was as though she were their mother. Staff was kind, considerate, and always helpful. Anytime something was needed they had someone in her room immediately. The management was phenomenal in helping us get her into San Marino and also throughout her stay. As you would walk the halls residents were cheerful and friendly and that also is an indication of the comfort level they have there. The individual staff assigned to her room were always cheerful, helpful, accommodating, even on her worst days they comforted her. We lost our mother due to her cancer. We would have not wanted her to be anywhere else when she passed. They took care of her and all of us. I only hope families that are searching for a happy, cheerful, caring environment for their loved ones that San Marino is considered.
